I am assuming flawed bottle but this is a few bottles in a row that haven’t showed well. I think I’m giving up on Courtin

Initially muted nose of pear, fennel, crushed rock, flint and white flowers. The wine is all about structure right now. Good QPR for ~$30

Day 1 the nose was fantastic upon PnP with classic Nebbiolo Tar & Roses, sweet hard candy and over time an olive tapenade note. The pallet was shut down and a little tart so left half the bottle. Day 2 the nose erupted from the glass with sweet lifted florals and a nice dark fruit note underneath. Pallet is much more fleshed out now and some of the tartness is gone. Great to check in on this - needs a lot of time but such great potential

PnP and drank over 4 hours. Started out super chiseled and acid driven with everything citrus and white flowers, but over time rounded out really well and showed more orchard fruit characteristics as well as a deeper texture. Interesting bottle to follow. Table called it blind a mix of white burg and Chenin

Immediately out of the bottle super lifted mineral driven red fruit which gave way with some air to classic Syrah iron, meatiness and a slightly darker but still fresh red fruit profile. Oak was there at the beginning of the evening but after an hour or so was no longer noticeable. Can certainly feel the 2007 vintage with its fruit profile but not overpowering or “big” in any way. Opened 2 hours before drinking and decanted for maybe 20 minutes before it went back into the bottle as it didn’t need it

Riesling lovers Chenin. Dry with under-ripe pineapple, pear, passionfruit. Great weight and acidity

In a great and interesting spot. Would not have called this Barolo in a blind tasting as it had a mix of Burgundian fruit and Bordeaux earth features. Well above expectation

Still so young - giving nothing for at least an hour. After the first hour started to show the amazing potential it has. I’d leave another 3-5 if you are after a good spot in the primary stage of this one

In a word extremely 'drinkable'. Just one of those wines you want to keep refilling your glass and are sad when its gone

Really great half bottle. Initially complex nose of Sesame Oil, ginger and asian spices that opened up to a hint of classic buttered popcorn but definitely not an over-buttered chardonnay.

Solid casual drinking champagne. Very interesting on day 2 of being open. Out of the bottle the Chardonnay component shines through with a citrusy note, but the meunier comes through with time.

Love these wines. Having recently had the 2010 this 2014 feels like it could use another year or 2 to mellow out. Deep red color. Cranberry, cherry, white chocolate, vanilla and spices. Great out of decanter after 30min

PnP at a BYO in Jersey City. In a really great place right now. No bottle funk at all - still some great red and purple fruit, hint of tannin. Just a really solid bottle
