Drank on NYE for my wife's 35th birthday. Cork was soaked 75% through and came out in two pieces. Decanted for sediment and served about 20 minutes later. I am a complete novice with wines of this age, so this tasting was a first for me. Tertiary notes of tobacco and leather on the nose. Not much tannin. Drank over two hours. I won't give it a score due to my inexperience with bottles like this, but it was delicious and a good showing to me what a perfectly aged old world bottle should taste like.

Even after a 1.5 hour decant this wine was still a huge, full bodied vanilla bomb. You can definitely tell this is a pinot made by a cabernet sauvignon wine maker. I love Russell's cabs, but this is not what I'm looking for in a pinot at all.

I would like to preface this review by saying that I have been a member of the Hall wine club for three years and have visited twice on my trips to Napa. I am a fan of their "higher tier" wines, like Jack's Masterpiece and Kathryn Hall, but still purchase their "lower tier" stuff to have in the cellar for nights when we have guests that aren't wine drinkers, which is exactly what the case was this past Saturday.

Deep purple in color with lots of fruit, notably blackberry and plum. Felt sloppy on the palate with too much oak and the tanins were not what I would put in the category of a quality Napa Cabernet. I was disappointed to say the least, although our guests did like it which is all that mattered at at point.

Drank this bottle a few weeks ago for Father's Day but forgot to enter my note, so here it is:

90 minute decant. Cherry, pomegranate, and floral notes on the nose. Fresh and juicy on the palate, with medium tannin and acidity. Drinking really beautifully right now.

Pnp. Funky nose. Good on night one, but lost a step after a night in the WineArt. Probably a tad overpriced at $40

Purchased this bottle after reading several Cayuse reviews. I was really interested to find out if this really was one of those "love it or hate it" producers. Decanted for about 1.5 hours and drank over the next two alongside a 2013 Shafer Relentless. These two could not be on more opposite sides of the syrah spectrum. The Cayuse has such a funky nose of smoked meat and olives. Count me in the "love it" category for this one. I will definitely be purchasing more.

Opened my first of three bottles to see what the hype was about and I was not disappointed. Popped the cork and slow ox'd for about 2 hours and drank over the course of 2-3 hours with dinner. Black fruit and plum on the palate with refined tannins. One of the best Napa QPRs out there.

Nice PnP on a Friday night, but it definitely lost a step after two days in the WineArt.

Paired with Flannery steaks. Decanted for about 20 minutes before my first taste. My immediate reaction was that this had lost a step, being lighter and less fruit forward than what I've experienced from Russell's wines in the past. The wine did grown on me over the next 2+ hours, but it wasn't at that $300 price point that it commands on the secondary market.

I had an odd experience with this wine. Purchased two bottles from LastBottle. First bottle was opened about two months ago. Drank over the course of two or three days with no issues. Opened my second bottle three nights ago. Poured into a decanter and served with dinner. We did not finish the bottle, so about 3 hours later I poured back into the bottle and stored in my WineArt. Took it out after two days and it had gone bad. Tasted completely flat and stale. Not sure what happened in between.

Drank during the virtual tasting hosted by Wineberserkers with TRB and Will. This was my first experience with RM pinot. Decanted for about 1.5 hours before I poured my first glass. The wine is very fresh with notes of raspberry on the palate. The acidity was high for my taste. After 2.5+ hours in the decanter it finally mellowed out. This wine is very well made and is a great QPR buy, but it is not the style I seek out.

Poured through a strainer to remove some light sediment and drank over two hours. No need to decant this its ready to go upon opening. Deep purple in color, medium/full body. Beautifully integrated tannins with a 30+ second finish. Drink up.

Not good. Tannis and alcohol are way out of whack. Very disappointed for the price

Mushroom, earthy, forest floor nose that I always get from Dehlinger pinots. Drinking well right now.

My first experience with Quilceda Creek and I was not disappointed. Purchased for our first quarter Cabernet wine dinner. Decanted for 60 minutes at home, then back into the bottle for travel. Poured into a decanter at dinner and served within 30 minutes. Rich, but not overbearing with black fruit flavors on the palate. Fine grain tannin on the finish. Entering a beautiful drinking window. Will definitely seek out another bottle for my cellar

Nicely well balanced with mellow tannins and crushed red fruit on the palate. Enjoy now or in five years.

PnP, drank over two days, kept in Wine Art. Lots of red fruit on the nose and pallet. Paid $42 through Last bottle and would again for this QPR.
