1/10/22, 12:52 AM - A 53? Corked? What is the issue. When no one is giving a rating close to a 53 then more info is needed. It is not fare to the wine. Occasionally I get a corked wine or other issue but I usually don’t rate it.

2016 Bosquet des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Tradition Red Rhone Blend

Dark purple with a wide translucent margin. Needs more air: thin, watery, and sour right out of the bottle. Will check again tomorrow. Day 2 not too much more unfortunately. A little more structure, a little more fresh and ripe fruit on the nose. But not really that much. A little more fruit on the palate. But not that much. I'm beginning to wonder about the Southern Rhone, to be honest. Striking out way too often.

1/3/21, 6:24 PM - I have about 15 bottles of this wine. When I first opened I thought I had wasted my money. That was a the only bottle I bought. At hour 1 of decant it was still tannic and undrinkable. By hour 4 it turned. It opened amd was worth buying 15 more. Never have I had a wine turn for the better that much. I will give this wine another year to 2 years in the wine locker before I taste it again.

Stemmy, mint, peppery with dark fruits, cherry, dark plum. Tannins tight yet integrated. Full bodied with a long lingering finish. Still tight after 4 hours. Complex. Lots going on. Did not disappoint and looking forward to the next one in 3-5 years.

2016 Kirkland Signature Gigondas Red Rhone Blend

Very acidic. Poured it through a Nuance Wine Finer into a borosilicate glass decanter for a little over an hour. Didn't help much. It's ok for a $15 Gigondas but frankly I'd rather spend the extra $10 and get a good one. I wouldn't buy it again.

11/13/18, 10:20 PM - Only 1 review and Boone’s Farm strawberry Hill, vintage Fall, might get a 51. Never seen such a low number. Please have at least a clue of a rating.
