Quite a surprise. It reminded of a good Limoux rather than a bourgogne. So a lot of freshness, I like that. The wood is subtle and supports the wine.

This was a funky bottle, with a lot of residu. It reminded more of a barbaresco than a bourgogne. Good, but not as excellent as the previous bottle. Probably bottle variation because of the filling of the bottle (there was A LOT of residu).

Stunning bottle. Decanted just before drinking. Beautiful colour, intoxicating nose. Très bordeaux, cabernet sauvignon. Still so fresh, even a little fruit. After decanting the wine developed still more, very complex, perfect balance. Truly exciting.

Very good bottle. Blind guessed grand cru. Very elegant for Chassagne, excellent balance and length.

Not the best PQR. Decent wine, but nothing special

The light style of Ratti in a relatively light vintage. Lovely. Perhaps not the longevity of 2013 or 2016, but now open and very enjoyable. Decanted it opened up even more, so no hurry to drink up.

Stunning. The nose is impressive, and although the mouth does not deliver this intoxicating promise, this wine is very fine. Balanced, long, stylish, refined. Only exceeded by the greatest, like Giacosa. So the QPR of this Luisin is second to none.

Completely different from the Baumard. Bone-dry, no hint of botrytis. It benefits from a lot of air, as suggested on the back-label - a huge difference from straight out of the bottle. Not an easy wine, a bit a-typical. It reminds more of a dry Vouvray of, say, Huët than a Savennières. It is a good wine, but not the best expression of the top-notch terroir of Clos du Papillon.

Absolutely stunning wine. This bottle was bought from the domaine in the early eighties and kept in an excellent cellar by the kind host who poored this wine. Vibrant, spicy, harmonious and balanced. Just to sniff the wine was intoxicating, but the taste... incredibly smooth, complex and long. Grand vin.

Not decanted. At first a bit 'buttery'. But this soon disappears and a complex mixture of fruit and a sweet minerality appears. Lovely wine.

Very lovely. The wine is spicy yet soft and backward. Modest signature of the vigneron, the grape speaks. Easy to dismiss, because the wine does not jump out of the glass. It rewards concentration and focus with cool fruit, small berries, impeccable balance, depth. I'll buy more.

Nice story about one remaining row of a rare variety. High expectations, the wine did not live up to it. Nice, not special, too expensive for its level.

Stunning. Still young, perhaps too young, but already a true joy. This wine has a long future, the balance is perfect. Breathtaking complexity. But this wine is very backward, so I can imagine why lovers of white Rhône by fine makers like Chapoutier, Beaucastel, Pégau and others rate this wine lower. It is not power and expression but subtlety and strength that characterize this wine. Not for everyone, I agree, but I love it.

Very nice. A hint of botrytis added some complexity. Not decanted, the wine grew in the glass. Perfect pairing with a delicious lobster "hotdog" by Parlotte (Amsterdam)

I love this wine. Perhaps the best QPR I ever encountered. Don't spread the word. This is brilliant.

Last and best bottle of this vintage. Very complex and balanced. We had it next to a dish of marinated slices of yellow, pink and purple beetroot and wintertruffle, a perfect pairing. The earthy character of the dish was lifted by the Miani, that was fresh and mineral. Truly great.

Stunning bottle. Decanted hours before drinking, but a small glass on the table to follow this wine. It was fruity and open from the beginning, the small berries so typical for Giacosa (and great wines in general). Yet it climbed to an even higher level over the next hours. Really lovely wine, kaleidoscopic, complex, seductive. I love it.

Stunning bottle. Decanted hours before drinking, but a small glass on the table to follow the wine. It went through several phases, still a lot of potential. At first: brooding, black fruit, leather, tobacco. When it opened up: red berries, spices, minty. Formidable length and balance. Great wine.

Extremely young, but the distributor urged me to try it now, because of the fruit. He was right. Little berries, spicy, juicy, seductive, lovely. It reminds of Rayas, it is that good.

Dégorgé 2020. Decanted, it really needed it, because this was a very young wine. Then it still needed time, also to reach the right temperature (about 12°C). As too often the wine was nearly gone when it showed some of its true colours. Great wine. Too bad it is so hard to find nowadays.

Great wine. It has some sweetness and botrytis, but only slightly. The fieldblend gives it a lot of complexity. The wine is completely ready, but no hurry, it will last at least 10-15 years, perhaps (much) longer. Lovely.

Krug grande cuvée is always a treat. I was never disappointed, regardless of the recent yearning for the exact release. I think the power of this wine is the constant quality of its release, non-vintage after non-vintage. We had the 161th release, with baseyear 2005. It was magic. Stunning with a delightful dish of Japanese-style wagyu with urchin, soy-sauce cured quail-egg, kizami-wasabi and caviar. Wine and dish pairing: absolutely stunning.

Last bottle. As always a pleasure to drink, often transcending its appellation. The previous bottle was more exciting, so this is on its slow downhill. Drink up and enjoy.

Decanted about 3 hours before drinking. We all had a small glass directly after decanting to follow the wine from the beginning. Just after pooring there was no smell at all, completely closed. The game started after about 15 minutes. Then this wine just opened, step by step. It was spectacular. When it finally hit the glasses to drink it with a fine dish, the wine was completely open for business. Juicy, spicy, a lot of red fruit, complex and intriguing. A very, very fine wine, with still a great future ahead.

Not decanted. Immediately open for business. Cork came out in pristine shape, a bleached one like PYCM used until some years ago.
Light color, especially when compared to the Lafon Montrachet that was in the glass next to this one.
At first it seemed a little lightweight for grand cru level. We were too quick to judge this wine. It still needed a lot of time to open up. Quite a surprise.
Yet we were even more surprised then the food came: now this wine really showed itself when paired with poussin demi-deuil with a delicious sauce. It was a match made in heaven.
After the dish the wine still gained in complexity. A unique possibility to compare this rare wine to the Lafon Montrachet. No surprise that the Montrachet is an even more complete wine, but the Criots had no reason to be ashamed of itself. A very fine wine indeed.

After a few disappointing bottles of Delarche this was a very good bottle. Especially for 2013, this bottle was clean with good acidity. Lovely.

Very good. A distinctive, fruity yet "stinky" smell. Hard to coin, but I like it. Contrary to the estimate of Vinous this was still young. No hurry to drink, but no need to wait either.

Young, but very approachable. Funky, fruity, sexy. Great value

Dark, overpowering wine. A little too much for my taste. Too high alcohol level that dominates smell and taste.
