Immediately after opening, a burst of smoke and grilled meats, which, over the next 20 minutes is gradually replaced by poached raspberries and strawberries, vanilla, and a touch of cocoa. Then cherries and milk chocolate become prominent. Gentle tannins. Very long and lovely aftertaste, with a whisper of milk chocolate returning at the end. There's no hurry at all with this wine, but, if this bottle is typical, there's also no reason at all to wait. An immensely likeable wine. [Tasted over two hours from the Jancis Robinson glass. Also tasted from the Conterno glass and the Riedel Vinum Cabernet Sauvignon glass, with disappointing results--at this stage in its development, this wine seems to be very sensitive to the glass from which it's tasted. The Riedel Vinum Zinfandel/Chianti glass is, to my surprise, quite good for this wine, though not as good as the Jancis Robinson glass. The description and score reflect the Jancis Robinson glass.]

Tasted at WL, fruit hits your palate like a shot, lots of flavor, needs to balance out, would be interesting to drink a bottle to see how it drinks as your palate might tire after a glass, 14.4% alcohol , might try a bottle as it appears to be a decent value

6/16/17, 6:41 PM - Seriously? Your palate might tire after 1 glass because it's 14.4% alcohol?
Was the wine flawed or do you consider 14.4% the flaw? When will this nonsense stop, when alcohol levels are 10-11%? Drink a riesling for pete's sake! You must be overly sensitive which makes this note rather useless to those of us who pay no attention to numbers but simply enjoy well-balanced wines. I'll look for it locally to offer a different perspective.
