Dark as a November night and bloody as Halloween. Take your plums and blackberrys and soak them in ink for a while, and you are close to it.
Dense and long.
Needs more time, but God knows what would then crawl out of this dark hole in a few years. Well made and interesting, but ohh my is dark. And a bit fiery as well.

Lovely wine, with good minerality, acidity and citrus driven fruit

Nice red sliky fruit, with some spice and stalks. Good acidoty, and grip. Decent length. Drinks well now, but no hurry.

A big disappointment.
I had high hopes for this, but it under delivered big time.
It lacks the complexity, depth, strcuture and minerality of e.g., Foillard.
The warm vintaged also shines through a bit.

Cooked fruit. Raisins and prunes, in a tired matured stat. While acidity was OK, it was still suffering from high alcohol, and the fruit profile felt off. Don't know if an odd phase, but have no hopes this will evolve into something nice. Should have drunk young and enjowed it with fresher fruit.

Not what I am used to find in Montevertine. It is dark, has matured quickly, and almost jammy. It lacks the energy and elegance that I connect with Montevertine, which ususally is really good!

Really nice young Barolo. Bright red fruit, nice balance and good length, but above all a rally nice freshness to the wine. I really like it. Probably not a wine to store for too long, although this was obviously very young. I will not wait 5 years for next bottle, and I am looking forward to it

Lovely, especially considering the potential. I would wait 5 years for the next one, if I was sure to avoid any tunnel. But great fruit, balance and structure

Surprisingly strong note of brett - have never found that before in any Rinaldi. Apart from that, marred a bit by the heat

Cuvée de tonnelier. Too much oak. Way too much.

To me this wine seems to be heading downhill, already. I liked it more before. The fruit is fading, and it becoming...blurry?

Brett and Barnyard. In a good way. Leather and garrigue to that. Drinking nicely now.

This was a dissapointment. At this stage the barriques were overpowering the fruit, and it actually felt a bit disjointed. At least compared to my expectations, after the 2004 I had a week earlier. Not a great vintage, but but still not meeting expectations

Takes an hour or two to open up. Then it shows off nicely, with typical Nebbiolo scents of roses, tar and cherries - coming from the darker side of the spectrum. The taste is driven by a nice sweet core of dark cherries, that goes in lock together with the firm yet smooth tannins. Nice length and OK depth and complexity. Long life ahead, but a pleasure to drink already now, for people who doesnt shy away from the typcial young nebbiolo tannins.

Although there is nice fruit somewhere, it is totally hidden by roasted coffee and mocca. Not something I liked or would be searching out again.

Unfortunately my last bottle. Really nice sweet cassis and raspberry fruit. Cool in it's expression. Nice structure with acidity and still some silky tannins. Lovely wine!

This is a bit dull and heavy. It doesn't really have any lift. The fruit is nice though, and quite a bit mature. Maybe it is getting a bit negative since it really was outshone by the 2004 Astralis that was poured in the glass next to it, but I had higher hopes after an earlier taste.

Stringent and a bit restrained. Opens with a bit of air though. People guessed Chabli blind, and I understand why. Lovely wine.

Takes one night in the fridge in an open bottle to come alive. Then it is really awake with loads of dark fruit plus some tar and roses. The taste is similar to the nose with decent length, finishing off with a touch of salty minerals. The tannins are firm, but right now embedded in generous fruit. This wine is a baby, but has stuffing for quite a few years, and wait until you touch them.

Has improved a lot since last bottle 1.5 years ago. The fruit has mellowed down a bit, and it is nicely balanced with good acidity. No hurry at all to drink, but absolutely nothing wrong with unscrewing a cap (Screwcap, appreciated!)

Relatively bold wine with sweet dark forest fruits. Classic Nebbiolo notes of rose petals and tar. Tannins soon fully resolved, give it a year or so more. No problems at all with VA!

Deep, dark and smooth. Layers and layers of raspberries and blackberries, together with maturity notes of leather. Long and seamless. Drinking very well right now, and if it wasn't my last bottle, I would drink the remaining ones shortly.

A bizarre wine. Super ripe fruit and explosive taste, with tons of sweet glycerine and alcohol. Almost resembles a cognac (with a fruit compotte) on the nose, with a sharp alcoholic scent. Not in balance, just overdone. It is hard to finish much more than one glass, and after that one you start worrying about tomorrow's hangover.

A wonderful young BDX with a long life ahead of it. Plenty of dark fruit, as well as herbs, earth anc graphite. very well balanced with nice chewy texture. Long aftertaste that lingers. This is obviously an infanticide, but nice to get an early look at the potential, and it is great. 2008 seems to be a forgotten vintage, when pricing skyrockets elsewhere

Full bodied with dark fruits and licorice at the forefront. Structured with still potent tanninns. Great wine that would benefit from a few more years of cellaring to let the tannins soften, and gain a bit more complexity.

Tons of dark fruit, chocolate, ,with sweet black currant lemonade and kirsch. Disappointing on the palate, where the pieces did not come together, and the high alcohol came through in a burning sensation. After a night in the fridge, the acidity had integrated a bit more, and it might grow better with bottle age. But why does the bottle need to weigh as two normal ones?

I don't do points, but this is one of the best wines I have ever had. Power and complexity, together with balance and a lightness in the mouth makes it a pure pleasure to drink. Combine that with an aftertaste that lingers for what seems an eternity, and I wonder if wine really can be that much better than this.

Not what I expected from a Amarone, where it lacked a lot of the dried fruits etc I would like to have. Although powerful, I think lacked the many dimensions I would like in an Amarone. A disappointment.
