Deep burnt gold color. Medium body, effusive nose of lychee, pineapple, white peach, honey. Tart and sweet on the tongue. It’s beautiful at 17, but I don’t think it will last much longer, drink up.

Shea is not usually my favorite single vineyard St. Innocent, but this example was superb. Light body, exquisite bouquet.

Note to self: do not drink Brunello on a hot summer day, save it for the fall.

Syrup in the glass. Dark almost brick like color. Good acidity to match the Apple crisp sugar. 60 second finish. Aftertaste driven by acidity, leaves you asking for more. Really one of the most amazing wines Kracher made.

‪Welcoming noise of bing cherry and heather. Light to medium body. Baked raspberry, blackberry, fruit cake and cardamom with a 60 second finish. Best showing for the Shea that I’ve ever had. I suspect both the age and the large format made the difference.‬

Drank over several days from 750. Deep purple in the glass. Huge bouquet with blueberry, pencil shavings, bramble, blackberrry, black cherry. Medium to full body, long finish. Showing very well at 11 years, but has another 10-15 left to go.

Finally drinking well, still fruity, but now tastes like wine rather than juice.

Last bottle, it’s near perfect. What a shame Vlossack doesn’t get this fruit anymore.

Definitely on it's way down, but very well preserved in magnum. Took a few minutes to open up, but classic Spring mountain cab. I would say 10-25 years is the drinking window, 30 is a tad too late.

Ordered on a lark at a restaurant because I'd never heard of it. It was listed as vernaccia de serrapetrona secco, but that appears to be a different wine. In any case, I'm glad I was served this, because it is an absolute revelation. Deep purple color, cherry, raspberry, rosemary, sage on the nose. The herbal bouquet was captivating and in balance. Full bodied and dense. Tastes like a passito, but with none of the rough edges that are customary.

This wine is a reminder that around every corner in Italy, a remarkable surprise awaits.

Still a little young and rowdy, but a great bouquet and weight. Popped and poured over an hour, might have been better decanted.

Drank 375ml over the course of several days. Bright gold color. Great bouquet of honey, apple, pear. Acidity is fading but still alive. I figure a 750 will be good for another 5 years.

I drink a lot of St. Innocent, this was a very good wine, but it was slightly corked. One of the very few corked bottles of St. Inno I've had.

Drinking beautifully. Decanted and drank. Ripe aroma of cherry, heather, saddle-leather. Medium body, well structured, 45 second finish. This is very drinkable, but could go another 10 years easily.

Brilliant copper-gold color. Distinct nose of cloves, marjoram, pear and honey. Medium to long finish, medium acidity. A really lovely wine, but not for all palates. Fermenting on the skins seems to give it both a richness of texture and a unique flavor profile. I love the style.

This is by far the best bottle I've had. I regret drinking half the case prior to tonight. Exquisite bouquet, great body and length. Fruit and forest.

Beautiful deep gold color, lovely effusive nose of quince, pineapple and kiwi. Vibrant acidity on the tongue, medium body. Had this over two days (vacu-vin), it was great on both. Wish I had more.

The cork was slightly depressed on this one. Fill levels were good, but it did fade quite quickly and had a distinctly sweet aftertaste. Bouquet was not as rich, overall the bottle I had earlier in the year performed much better.

Very nice example of old Napa cabernet. Dark ruby, medium body, very fine bouquet of violets, baked blackberry and cigar box. I'd say this is good for another couple of years.

Deep garnet color, lovely nose of ripe blackberry, currants and baking spices. Fully resolved tannins, medium acidity, medium body, long finish. Really showing very, very well at 17. Had this alongside a 20 year old Pauillac, this was so much more vibrant both with food and on its own.

Okay, so no depressed cork on this one, and it performed much better, though it should have been decanted. Huge nose of baked blackberries, leather and rosemary. Medium-high acid, full bodied, tons of sediment.

Dark garnet color. Huge nose of candied cherries and red licorice. The nose has one note, and it's beating it with a big drum. Medium body, medium acidity. Overall quite a nice wine, but was a bit warmer than I normally like my pinots.

Was a bit over the hill. But could see how this would have been a very good wine maybe 3-5 years ago. Dark amber color, nose of honey, baked apples, baking spices and creme brulee. Medium body, there was a fair amount of sediment at the bottom. Short finish.

Beautiful candy pink color, star bright. Pert nose of strawberry, kiwi, rosewater and a hint of cinnamon. Vibrant acidity, medium body, medium finish. Drank it over two days, vacuvin'd and left it in the fridge. Was fine on day two. Unusual pairing notes, I had this with steak and creamed kale. Surprisingly, it held up really, really well. This is a really beautiful rose. We

Has some residual sugar, which will throw a lot of people off. I think it works for this wine, but just barely. Deep purple color, there's some browning on the edges. Jammy plum and cherry on the nose. As noted, there's residual sugar. Low-medium acidity. Had this with some Szechuan food and I think that is the right pairing, the sweetness complemented the pepper (I think port is the perfect pairing with Szechuan so there's not surprise). Huge amount of sediment, which is part of the reason for the jamminess I'm sure.

Deep garnet with a brown rim. Nose of rosemary, dark cherries, crushed violets and sage. Medium body, medium acid, 60 second finish. There's something you can't pin down about this wine. It's probably the clear note of herbs matched with bright fruit.

Intense purple color. Deep bouquet of rosemary, black cherry, blueberry. Medium to full bodied, medium-high acidity. Really quite a delicious wine, quite light on its feet despite the weight.

Disclaimer: I like this wine enough that we're adding it to our book for NY distribution.

This is growing on me a little bit. Drank this bottle over two days and at first is seemed rather disjointed as if it were a stand-off between a horse barn and a blackberry jam factory. Hours later and the next day, it was a little more together, and definitely better with food. Basically a decent entry level super-tuscan though I still don't think SYrah and Cabernet Sauvignon go together.

Bright red in the glass, beautiful nose of cherry, rosemary, violet, sage and chalk. Light body, vibrant acidity, lovely herb finish. A really beautiful chinon. Re-corked and left overnight. Was as good the next day, should last through the decade.
