Initially, after 30 min decant - dark cherry, moderate harsher tannins and long finish.
After 24 hours decant - dark bing cherries. Tar. Moderate tannins. Mountain fruit structure and long finish, much more well balanced and plush. Based on this, either hold or give long decant.

Dark berry fruit, some floral as well on nose. Immediately on palate is moderate, drying, harsh tannins. They do mellow somewhat with time, but the wine is never completely in balance. It appears well made with a dense core of fruit and is a fruit bomb. By the second night, again harsh/ astringent tannins that reduce with time. I'm going to revisit this in a few years and hope things are more integrated/ better.

nicely developed, full bodied. mature moderate tannins. complex, bordeaux like - tastes more like a blend, than pure shiraz. Dark berry, tar, pepper.

I was somewhat surprised at the great condition of this bottle. I think it was a mid $20s purchase. The nose and palate - nice dark cherry, smooth, with great mouthfeel and soft tannins. Not very complex, but very enjoyable.

maybe in a bad phase, maybe this is the evolution, but this was mediocre bottle and a terrible QPR for me. It was alcoholic and out of balance. I decanted for about an hour. The fruit was minimal and the alcohol excessive. It didn't improve with any decant time. Look i'm a KB supporter, so I'd be biased in a positive way. I hope the rest of my bottles are better, i don't know if waiting will help... i also have a whole bunch of RRV from 05, might try in a few weeks to see what those are like.

not very complex. decanted 1/2 hour. slightly tight initially. then a medium bodied, light tannin granache based wine. i would call it one dimensional. it seemed to go well with barbecue chicken and sweet potatoes.

My sentiments echo the previous posters. I've been a huge fan of Aubert Chard, finally let onto the Pinot list for the 2006. I just had to try it last night. I gave a 2 hour decant. Medium to dark color. Bright and dark cherry, light oak notes on the nose. Palate was well balanced and medium weight for a Pinot. I noted floral, mild sour cherry, mild spice, light oak, strawberry. Overall, though the balance was right, this was very unimpressive for what I expected. It was certainly a nice change from some of my other, more weighty friends such as KB, Roar and Loring. But while I was hoping for a Burgundian profile, this just did not have the layers of complexity, so overall a disappointment.

An impressive nose. enticing cherry and some dark moist fruit. The mouth feel was intensely coating. cherry and strawberry, slightly candied. There were firm, but not harsh tannins. The finish was more than 2 minutes. This paired really well with our thanksgiving meal of filet minon . Very intriguing bottle, cant wait to open the next.
