A good, solid Riesling. I still like the Urzig Wurzgarten better, but would drink this over most others.

Still one of my favorite Pinots from Oregon. Not as good as the SV, but great for under $20.

The wine is still very dark around the edges of the glass and still has quite a bit of tannin. Blackberry and currant on the nose. Good balance. I think this could make it to 2013 or so, but it's drinking well now. It does have a bit of a dried fruit/raisin aroma, but overall is a nice wine.

Pale straw color. Dried fig, honey, nuts and oak on the nose. I really like the smell. On the tongue, it shows that it is a value wine. It's a little thin, but refreshing. It seems a bit harsh and seems like tart apple, which may mellow out with aging. It does seem a bit too acidic, though. Perhaps the fruit was picked too early.

Pretty decent. There was some vanilla, fruit, earth, etc. Would have liked to decant it a little longer.

Faded rust color. Not much opacity. Smells delicious. Has good sweetness, vanilla, soft tannins. A little heat on the finish.

Nice balance between sweetness and acidity. Crisp and light in the mouth. Served as a pairing for a baby lettuce salad.

Used a glass in an anchovie/pine nut pasta sauce and was very pleased with the result. The wine itself is a bit light in color and has a bit of acidity to it suggesting that the grapes may have been picked a little early, but it was still rather enjoyable. It will benefit from being decanted for an hour or two prior to drinking.
White - Off-dry

Seemed a bit heavy on the oak. Very fruity. Still pretty nice and I think it could stand to age a bit longer to soften the tannins.

I was looking for a CdR to pair with some lamb stew, and this really fit well. Great acidity, some nice fruit on the nose and some coffee/chocolate aromas. I'll be buying more of it.

As a previous review mentioned, there really isn't a lot of tannin. Pretty fruity, but no off flavors. Not bad for the value (<$6). I'd probably buy a couple more for every-day drinking.

We opened this up about 20 minutes before consuming. I wish we had opened it a few hours beforehand. You could tell there were some flavors that were still developing an hour in. Very deep red. Still seems young.

Pear and melon. A little peach. Melon comes through initially, but the pear manifests itself in the finish.

Pale straw color. Pear, apricot and limestone on the nose. Some honey and lemon, as well. Good acidity. Very pleasant. My wife thought it was a Mosel Riesling initially, and I can't blame her. Very much in that style.

This bottle was a gift from a friend moving overseas. Quite the nice little bottle. The wine weighs in at 13 % ABV. It smells like an auslese, but it doesn't really have a very sweet taste. Somewhat contradictory of the aroma. There is a tartness to the wine, somewhat like a granny smith apple. The finish is medium in length. Very nice and smooth. There is also a strong aroma of raisins and pie spice. Very nice.

Nice aromas of blackberries and sous bois. I felt that the acidity was a little unbalanced. It was very smooth initially, but a small crest of acidity (like straight citric acid) seems to hit the palate. Still a good wine, but could be a bit better. Or maybe we could just decant it a bit longer and see what happens...

Uncorked and let sit for 20 minutes. Poured brick red. Initial impressions were of sour cherry and strawberry. Gives way to mushroom and peppercorn. Slightly tart. Light on the palette. Medium finish ending on a coffee note. It started opening up a bit more after an hour. Will see how it develops. Not bad for under $20.

Pale straw color. Honey and tart apple aromas. On the tongue it gives way to pineapple and mineral. I would classify this as off-dry, as it is not overtly sweet. The finish returns to the apple hinted at on the nose. Fairly crisp. Not a bad price overall.

Had with WFO pizzas. Brick red. Can see light through it easily. Browning at the edges. Dark fruit, plum, currant, and earth. Tannins can still stand up. Slightly acidic. Lighter in body than I anticipated, but a nice wine.

I think this wine is too young to be drinking currently. I'd give it another year or two, at least, in the cellar. The first pour was rather closed and was fairly tannic. The aromas eventually gave way to pitch, cedar, blackberry, pepper, tobacco and some stems. I had a 1996 K-J Vintner's Reserve about a week ago that was drinking really well. I feel that this one could probably go to about 2015-2017.

This is a nice, crisp desert wine. We drank it with a dessert pizza cooked in our WFO with a little butter, cinnamon, and sugar. The wine complimented it very well. I've got a bit left in bottle for some additional notes later. I'll try to remember to post them.
Edit: Mild spice and nectarine on the nose.

Tasted this at the winery. This wine is nice and dark. It has the aromas of dark fruits one would expect. The tannins are nicely balanced, too. This one is very drinkable right now. I tried the Stillwater Cab, too. They are both good, but I gravitated towards this one.

I decanted this for about an hour, then let some sit in my glass for about another hour. I think it is a little past it's time. It tasted good initially, but by the end, there wasn't much there. If you open one, drink it quickly.

Had this at Daniel's Broiler in Seattle. This poured a deep violet in the glass and gave off aromas of earth, raisin and blackberry. The wine still had ample tannins and was paired with king salmon and prime ribeye. Went very well with the beef. After an hour in the decanter, the tannins were very muted.

Tasted this one blind (again) and it fooled me (again). I at first thought it was a sauvignon blanc. Then I started guessing at random. I was shocked to find out that it was the Verdejo (again). Straw color and crisp acidity. Very good wine and goes very well with grilled chicken or white fish.

Good acidity. Has the ability to age longer. Very deep red/purple in color. Oak and cedar are prevalent on the nose. Some slight vegetable aromas. Tannins are still very vibrant. Some alcohol astringency. Pairs very well with beef, lamb and goat. I would age this perhaps another year if I had another bottle.

Green apple and citrus on the nose, like fresh picked fruit straight from the orchard. The wine is slightly effervescent initially and is refreshingly crisp and sweet. It coats the tongue and lingers for awhile afterwards. Very nice.

Very dark and deep red. Oak, dark red fruit and black berries on the nose with some herbal hints, perhaps some cinnamon. Nice structure and subtle tannins. This is drinking well now, but will probably be good for the next 5 years or so. I may change my rating to a 90 with a later bottle.

I'll start off by saying that the cork disintegrated as I was opening the bottle. That kind of set me up for a bad experience. But I think that since the wine is young helped make it drinkable after having a rotten cork. Not the greatest wine I've had. It was my first Vinho Verde. Reminded me of a lightly carbonated club soda with lemon or other citrus. Not a lot of flavor. I could see it being refreshing on a hot day, as the 4th was. I don't know how this stacks up to other Vinho Verdes, so I'll have to try some more.

I have to admit that I liked this wine. It is a little light on the body. However, the price isn't bad and it tastes decent enough. Lots of fruit and not overly sweet. It weighs in at 12.5 % ABV, which is refreshing. Got better after 30 minutes. For a 2008 Pinot, the tannins are almost not noticeable. This wine will not age and needs to be consumed now.

I was a bit confused by it at first, as it was Beringer, but it said VIN DE PAYS D'OC on the label. After reading the back, it seems Beringer imported the wine/juice/grapes and bottled it in California. Interesting. Anyhow, it's not a bad wine for the price. I'd probably pick it up again. Nice tannins, if not a little light on the cherry/fruit aromas I expect from my pinot noirs. Drink ahora!

I'd put this in the average category. Nothing to write home about. Too sweet. On it's own, I probably wouldn't have minded, but we had this with another pinot and there was really no going back to this after having the other. There's no structure to this wine. You can find better wines for about a buck more and it'd be worth it.
