Not too subtle but very quaffable, could have left it another year or two I think

Absolutely delicious, assaults you with flavour (but in a nice way), asparagus & gooseberry

Decanted and left to stand for a couple of hours, leaving a small amount of sediment in the bottle. Deep red in colour, with a subtle fruity nose. Very smooth in the mouth, not noticeably acid or astringent, and matched perfectly with a roast leg of lamb. I only wish I had another bottle stored away. Perfect for drinking now.

Very dark colour, a lot of sediment in the bottle. Left in the decanter for an hour before dinner, but the wine was even better a couple of hours after the meal.
Flowery smell, fruity taste. Smooth not sharp. No acid, very little tannins. Not as powerful as I was expecting, but extremely pleasant with food. This is my only Ch. Angelus so I can't compare with other vintages, but my feeling is that this is probably not going to improve with longer keeping.

I'm not a great Chardonnay fan but I've had this bottle in my cellar as a future treat for a few years and maybe waited a tad too long. A bit of citrus up front but not too dominant, the mineral side emerged and overall the taste was very clean and dry; not too oily or unguent like some of the Australasian chardonnays that have put me off over the years. Maybe it is past its peak, I couldn't say because I've only had the one bottle. But this was a good one and it matched our pork belly very nicely.

Impression on first taste was how soft and smooth it was; a bit of spice came through later on. Blackberryish flavour. Very easy to drink - too easy given the 14.8% alcohol level!

Typical South Oz Shiraz, although I was pleased to find that the high alcohol level wasn't as obvious as it often is. Deep colour, a tiny bit of sediment but not excessive. Very pleasant mouthful.

Deep colour, powerful nose, soft on the mouth. Gorgeous. Lots of soft fruit, blackberries. Still drinking well, but this was the last one in the cellar.

Not exceptionally subtle, but very nice. Nice dark colour. Fruity, slightly tannic on the first couple of tastes but smooth after that. Quite plummy, and nice easy drinking with our roast dinner.

We drank this with a baked berry cheesecake and the combination worked well. I think this wine has aged beautifully.

As others have noted, this wine hits the mouth with a bit of a fizz, which is the least pleasant feature of it and, to be honest, seriously detracts from the experience. It's a pity because if you hold the wine in your mouth long enough it really is quite delicious - cherries, strawberries, and a hint of dusty earth. The nose is lovely.

No score because I am drinking this far too late. Right now it's about a 77 and I think even two years ago it would be significantly higher than that.
Smells typically honeysuckle and has a very pronounced peach/nectarine flavour on the tongue. But this gives way to more of a bitter lemon taste which hangs around. After the first shock it's not actually too unpleasant - once I'm expecting it I don't mind it so much. Still, if you still have one of these I wouldn't hang on to it any longer.

Luscious. First time I've ever tried a botrytised Sav and I wasn't sure what to expect. Lovely golden colour, sweet but not quite as fruity as a botrytised chenin blanc or riesling - more honey, less apricot/apple. Glad I have a second bottle so I can enjoy it again.

Blood-red colour, not too strong on the nose, smooth and very drinkable. Hints of vanilla and dark chocolate. Nicely balanced, probably peaking or close to it.

Delicious. Sweeter taste than I expected given the reported residual sugar but not at all cloying, and balanced by a little acidity.

Kept this several years too long; the top half of the bottle was lovely, slightly "darker" flavour than I recall from past bottles, very faintly pungent but not in a bad way. The expected marmalade taste and smell. I've used the first glass as the basis for my rating. Unfortunately there was rather a lot of sediment in the bottle and the cloudier the glass, the nastier the taste. A full third of the bottle went down the drain :-(

When I discovered CellarTracker I went through my entire wine collection and discovered a few bottles tucked away that would have been drunk by now if I had noticed them. This is one of those. It's still nice with a strong cheese accompaniment, but I wish I had opened it 2 or 3 years ago when it might have been a lot better. The wine is garnet coloured, and there's nothing in the smell to suggest anything other than a good cab/merlot. I can detect hints of asparagus and stronger hints of black olive on the tongue, and the mouthfeel is warm, even hot. But there's marked acidity, a little too much for comfort without the sharp cheese to mute it a bit.
What might have been, eh?

Left this one too long. Colour was still excellent, and the first glass was very nice, balanced. But it went downhill quickly after opening and showed a bit of a dusty taste.
