Beautifully integrated/balanced wine. Medium + acidity, still excellent fruit ... cassis, blackcherry. Spices, cedar, touch of vanilla. Dusty smooth tannins. Slight tea bitterness, long finish.

Definitely seen better days. The fruit is gone, just an earthiness, tobacco, leather, cedar and some spices left. Still a drying dusty tannin mouthfeel (although mild). Medium minus acidity. Nice overall depth to the body still. Bitterness in the form of black tea.

5/7/20, 11:02 PM - Provenance …. came from a temp. controlled cellar. Only 1 owner before I purchased the wine and cellared for another 10 years in my own cellar (15C). Should have been no storage issues.

Really tasty and enjoyable. I believe fruit for this blend came from Niagara and some from PEC. Not terribly complex. Tannins are barely perceptible, but good fruit …. berries. Short-ish finish. But overall very tasty and smooth.

3/21/20, 6:28 PM - Yes some bitterness …. although I would just say the fruit set is not "sweetish" ripe berries. But not really bitter in an overpowering way. I liked it because it did not give me that cheaper wine sweet candied fruit mix I usually find in cheaper blends.

Seems that the fruit is leaving. Some cassis. But mainly an herbal flavour with some dashes of minerality and a bitterness streak at the end. No "sweetness" of any fruit left behind. Dry and some earthiness. Dusty tannins. Not sure where this wine is going, it still is relatively smooth and balanced in mouthfeel, just lacking in the "delicious" realm. Nothing wrong with the bottle.

3/16/20, 10:19 AM - Well, that is helpful in knowing. I have always liked Red Icon, but this one was disappointing. I still have a few other 2011 from Okanagan so I guess its time to drink them up as well.

Kind of a meh wine. Like the myriad of Burgs out there that are nondescript. Not a bad wine. Gives the normal everyday red burg background info …. red fruits, smooth tannins, some bitterness on the finish, earthy. But seems a bit watery in mouthfeel although it put on some weight with air. But average. 86

Beautiful wine. No formal notes …. just that it was enjoyed by all at dinner.

5/15/19, 7:31 AM - I think this has years more to go. I still have a bottle left. It is drinking beautifully now so I may drink it sooner rather then later.

5/18/19, 10:10 AM - For the price, you might also want to try the Zyme Valpolicella Superior. One of my go to Valpolicella's. I prefer the Romano dal Forno and Quintarelli Valpol's but those are hugely more expensive.

Now this is precisely why one should never drink a Dunn under 10 years of age.
This wine is absolutely brilliant now.
Lots of grainy sediment so decanting is a must.

Still vibrant, great structure, velvety to slightly grainy tannins. Medium tannins, medium acidity, medium fruit. All in balance.
Ripe, almost stewed red fruits, cassis, some tar, leather, some garden herbs, and a wee bit of stoney minerality. Great complexity. Only qualm is the slight jamminess feel on the finish. But what a long finish.

Drank on its own. No food. Why pollute the purity of taste.Beautiful wine.

10/9/17, 1:11 PM - definitely give this wine a decant and let aerate for at least an hour or so ..... but taste over that time to determine your own sweet spot for the wine. Great wine though. Hope you enjoy yours.
