This was really beautiful. Cherry notes but not over the top. But by the same token, enough fruit that it would not be considered austere. A very pleasant finish.

This was scary good. When my wife remarks how yummy something is, and we don't have any more, it is a rare occasion. So, I contacted Sojourn to order a case! It was fruit-forward but not over the top. A really nice smooth finish.

This was surprising amazing. Decanted for five hours and seemingly as youthful as when it was bottled. Have to believe 13 years ago it was a bruiser...

This was peculiar - I am not sure it was a flaw but the favor profile had a much bigger and rounder feel, at first I thought it was similar to the prune taste of a cooked or overheated wine (which was not the case since I've had other 2014 from the same shipment), and then it seemed like it took on the character of a cooler climate wine. Not sure why or what but I will see how my four other bottles of the same taste.

Drinking very nicely. Plum and blackberry on the palate, a touch of vanilla from the oak, and some definite dustiness.

This is showing so well it reminds me that Sangiacomo was our "house wine" for the longest time. Elegant and not overbearing, with cherry notes, and some subtle plum and blackberry notes. Very light on the oak, but some toast presence.

Beautifully balanced; vanilla and a a touch of carmel (probably malolactic fermentation) but almost no perceptible oak; stone fruit, peach and apple and a touch of acid.

What a pleasant surprise from the 2011 Vintage. Popped and poured, and then enjoyed over about two hours. Not as "big" as other vintages, but plenty of dark fruit notes, plum, blackberry, cassis, and some subtle pepper notes (black not green). A touch of vanilla on the nose from the oak, but very little oak. Extremely smooth tannin and finish. A thoroughly enjoyable wine - in fact a wine that some "haters" of California Cab would enjoy.

Needed some air but was solid and tons of life left in it. This will be drinking well into the next decade but sadly this was my last bottle.

My first bottle of this was amazing and garnered a 99. This one was slow-oxed for four hours. I should have decanted it. It was a little closed down and tasted hot. After an hour in the glass it opened up and I regretted not decanting it.

It had a pronounced earthiness - would have sworn it was a Rutherford Cab or had some Merlot mixed in (in a good way). The tannins were present but not overbearing, and it had a really nice finish.

This was a truly great bottle of wine. Medium color, bright cherry fruit with some layers of raspberry; a touch of spice on the end.

Pushed on us at Costco by a rep. For the price I thought why not? Well, it wasn't swill but wasn't anything memorable either. A bit monolithic and nothing stood out. Certainly not big and robust as its tasting note had claimed. But, for the price, not bad.

This is an expressive wine - not for those Burg lovers who dislike fruit. It is dark, more black than cherry, but still an energetic youthful Pinot. The oak treatment is well integrated and not over the top. The tannins are definitely present, but smooth. A really nice finish.

Unfortunately second of three with high levels of Brett. I will take them up on their prior replacement offer. I neglected to add to this old note how great the customer service of Rhys was. Replaced the bad bottle and exchanged unopened ones that could have been fine. Never had another issue with their bottles!

It took an hour to go beyond the "cherry cola" mononote stage. Once it opened up, it was quite elegant and balanced.

What a Cabernet should be. Big powerful fruit hiding in a balanced structured wine- meaning you know the fruit is there but it does not need to muscle it's way though the layers of flavor. Ultra smooth tannins that make you smile and a finish that goes on for 40+ seconds.
I still have one more left!

It took an hour or so after opening to show its colors but it was a smooth, beautiful wine. Big fruit, but it's power was subtle. No heat and a long finish.

- Crimsom color. It's balanced and has flavours of strawberry with a medium/full body. Oily texture with a medium finish.

This review was created by vinopad from a couple of buttons. I like the wine. A touch of acid which softened over time.

Tasted double blind in grouping of 8 Rhone blends. But, was decanted and immediately put back in bottle then 2 hrs slow oxed.

It was my WOTN. One other person's too. It was very rich and fruit forward but with great balance and a long finish.

This was an interesting wine. It started out a little on the thin side, but developed and opened up over an hour at a restaurant. A significant amount of acid coupled with notes of stone fruit, apricot, and a slightly floral nose.

The wife who is always looking for a QPR bought a Trader Joes 2012 RRV Pinot. Popped and poured through a Venturi. I really did not like this at first. First taste was a sour, acidic mess. After 45 minutes it did get a bit better with some cherry fruit and a little spice. The tannins were abrasive which could be that whole cluster and stems were improperly used.

Agree with the decadent mouthfeel notes. A big wine. Really nice but the last glassful seemed a little too tannic. Not sure of too much air or not enough air as it was pop and pour with an aerator. Love Saxum and loved the wine till the last taste.

Drank with a few hours of air, this was a beautiful expression of Rutherford fruit. Dark in color, but not overly extracted or over the top. Cassis, Plum, cedar and notes of dusty tannins lead to a nice soft finish. Other notes have said this needed time - I think it just needed air. Drinking quite nicely right now. Randy cut his teeth under Thomas Brown, along with Mike Smith, and is presently the assistant winemaker at Sojourn. This is his private label, and everything I've tried of his has been outstanding.

Youngest son's birth year. Drank on his 20th birthday. Still had life but on downhill. I was worried when cork disintegrated but the wine was fine. Cherry colored with a tinge of amber (don't want to say rust) in color, an earthy yet fruity wine.
