3/2/24, 3:30 AM - ☺
6/29/23, 9:19 AM - I think you have a perfect P/Q!!!
5/27/23, 4:55 AM - Ben het helemaal met je eens; concentratie en verfijning!
1/15/23, 12:57 AM - Yes, attention however: notice the tasting date!
1/15/23, 1:06 AM - Dear jonboy74,I've made a firm mistake, the tasting date was 09/30/...1985, so I've made a correction for the date and I apologise for the mistake (by the way is was a 750 ML bottle); still I believe that the '75 LLC will be lovely in 2025.Greeting, FransS
1/1/23, 2:14 AM - Happy new year!
11/28/22, 1:10 AM - ☺ The value of a tasting note! Greetings, FransS
11/1/22, 1:46 PM - Dear Joostentamara, if the chardonnay will loose its fruit the wine will become more dry, more severe, so I advice to follow the wine in its development. Maybe three year can be a bit too long.
10/30/22, 9:09 AM - Thanks Macaujames!
6/1/22, 2:18 PM - You could be right!
5/25/22, 2:53 AM - Dear Billy J,Simply four days in the fridge with only the cork. It is maybe not representative to compare my tasting note only with your Gigindas tasting notes. One thing for sure, 2016 is excellent in the Southern Rhône.Have fun with your 2016 Southern Rhône wines.
5/28/22, 8:52 AM - The choice is too big to have lots of bottles of one wine.I'am interested in your coming tasting notes☺
10/16/21, 1:32 PM - Dear srh,Thanks for your compliments; the UGCB-tasting needs its place at Cellartracker!Gr.FransS
9/22/21, 12:13 PM - Dear woody 57,My tasting note really concerned the nonvintage ruby, not a vintage port of the same producer. Greetings,FransS
8/26/21, 4:47 AM - Dear Joostentamara,Let's make a guess; give this wine another 2 to 3 years in the bottle to soften the tannins.Greetings,FransS
6/26/21, 1:18 AM - Dear LiteItInfireLéoville-Barton is not my benchmark, however I notice that L-B gives every year a bit more excitement. Tasting 70 wines at the UGCB tasting I've noticed that some wines as Haut-Bailly, Canon, L-B and S H-L gave me the most pleasureGreetings,FransS
6/26/21, 3:04 AM - Dear Mark1npt,I advice a bouble decanting for a very young wine of this level. One, let's say 6-8 hours before tasting and one an hour before tasting and a free tip, start serving the wine at appr. 16+ degrees C. This vintage has a lot of alcohol and it helps the wine by masking it a bit.Greetings,FransS
6/26/21, 3:06 AM - if you make from 'bouble' 'double' than everything goes well. ☺
6/26/21, 11:15 AM - it was a pleasure; tasting 70 2018 Bordeaux too.
6/27/21, 2:29 AM - Live is hard!!!
6/26/21, 9:22 AM - Thanks!
6/23/21, 10:46 PM - ☺
6/2/21, 1:45 AM - Dear Mike's Wine Cellar,I'm anxious to read your second tasting note...and maybe more?Greeting,FransS
3/7/21, 2:54 AM - Dear joostentamara,From '15 to'19 I have tasted this champagne 6 times, 2 x 87 points, 3 x 88 points and 1 x 89 points; so there is a certain consistency in my notes.A nice champagne, but for me not always as stylish/elegant as I wish, but be sure not a punishment to taste.Greetings,FransS
3/30/21, 12:50 AM - Dear joostentamara,Absolutely good stuff with a good QPR!Greetings,FransS
1/18/21, 5:24 AM - Dear josepieter,It was a pleasure to give you my impression of this wine.Greeting,FransS
1/5/21, 11:26 AM - Dear SRH,Thanks for your interest in my tasting notes.Yes, I have decanted the wine in the morning (from bottle to the carafe and directly back into the bottle) and I have tasted the wine in the evening and the next evening after a night in the fridge. I think I've paired the wine with simple dishes (not spicy) undoubtedly with vegetables, one evening with dear and trompettes de la mort mushrooms.I of course like wine, tasting and vintage information. I do not know, however, what you mean with the link with the CT articles.Greetings,FransS
10/10/20, 12:15 PM - Please, explain to me what you experienced with this wine. Too young to drink doesn't say much.
8/24/20, 2:18 PM - Not even considered; just a not-so-good bottle.
7/18/20, 8:27 AM - Congratulations, dear Xavier,This one is worth the marking of 20,000 tasting notes!Greetings,FransS
3/30/20, 5:54 AM - Beste Maaike2,Een genoegen om je vele nieuwe proefnotities te lezen!Groet,FransS
3/29/20, 6:58 AM - Dear GAET,It is often the moment and conditions can differ. With a certain number of tasting notes about a wine on CT you have a direction but still no certainty (as we know☺).Bon continuation avec vos notes de dégustation!Greetings,FransS
3/28/20, 3:14 AM - Dear Rallerboy888,I advice you to taste a bottle within, let's say, two years. It gives you a profile of this wine of great potential, showing already a lot of it and showing youth and that is what the wine will loose growing further to maturity.
3/21/20, 8:56 AM - I'll try!
3/20/20, 1:55 PM - Dear Harley1199,I often read your tasting notes! I think you're too late with this wine in 2026, but I have to admit I'm not a prophet! I think I catch a '17 soon.Greetings,FransS
3/21/20, 3:47 AM - Dear Harley1199,Just trust an older guy; the '11 cannot become more refined and balanced.Be sure, I continue reading your tasting notes from time to time. I will not make it a daily habit☺.Greeting,FransS
11/30/19, 2:26 AM - Dear DNAbog,What a brave soldier! Those were the days wine became made for a nearly eternal life. Drinking a '59 is not only tasting the wine, but also tasting history. Thanks for your tasting note (with identical elements) and continue to enjoy special wines.Greetings,FransS
9/7/19, 4:23 AM - Dear Seth,You are completely right! I've made a mistake.GreetingsFransS
4/3/19, 4:40 AM - Dear Pim R,Normally, yes, but not this time; really Beaucastel!!Greetings,FransS
2/28/19, 7:45 AM - Nice to hear that I could help you! Greeting FransS
2/27/19, 1:34 PM - It was a pleasure!
12/30/18, 3:39 AM - Dear Ombibulous,You are absolutely right that only a Vintage Port will have the potential for a real development, but a(n unfiltered) LBV or a Crusted Port can become softer, smoother after one to three years in bottle (e.g. the 2008 Fonseca LBV unfiltered, the 2011 Niepoort Crusted Port and the 2009 Quinta das Carvalhas LBV) and that was my advice for the Niepoort 2012 LBV.Greetings,Frans S
6/10/18, 12:50 PM - Dear wine tasting colleague,Was I a bit too severe, maybe, but I'm a bit disappointed when I taste wines without a noticeable inner core, let's say, without sufficient concentration and it was the case with this wine at the moment of tasting. I hope to re-taste this wine and if, I promise you to be as objective as possible.
6/7/17, 12:10 AM - I tasted the wine from the fridge of my friend Loek three days after opening and together with the Quarz '14 from Cantina Terlan and the '00 Sociando-Mallet they all showed well. I know Loek and I'm certain he gave the Coppermine Road a lot of air. I think the wine will need it, because after three days in the fridge (with only appr. one glass left in the bottle) the wine was still quite firm. Greeting, Frans
3/22/17, 3:38 AM - Dear wine friend,I have tried to find in the past some information about this wine, but I didn't succeed. I can assure you that the '67 seems to have an eternal live and a charming personality. I still have some bottles. Thank you for the information you have found (you're closer to the source). Greetings Frans Smit
1/1/17, 5:29 AM - Dear Zweder,Congratulations with tasting note 20,000!I think that P-C 2009 is a worthy wine for this milestone. Thanks for this actual note; I will also take soon a bottle to (I hope to) confirm its qualities.Greetings FransS
11/18/16, 2:07 PM - Just 1 to go!☺ FransS
11/26/16, 4:22 AM - Hoi André,Allereerst gefeliciteerd met tasting note 200, en ja '92 is een erg mooi portjaar (ook Fonseca maakte iets heerlijks). Het jaar '92 heeft nog een flinke toekomst!
11/18/16, 5:05 AM - Congratulations with your nummer 1,000; I enjoy reading your tasting notes. Gr. FransS
10/7/16, 2:32 PM - Who is the one that has made the wine?
7/20/16, 12:04 PM - Bedankt voor je proefnotitie; het geeft meer onderbouwing aan je punten.
6/10/16, 10:42 AM - When do I read new notes from you?Greetings,FransS
Groet,Frans
5/17/16, 3:31 AM - Dear Jeff,What have you tasted? Greeting,FransS
11/14/15, 12:50 PM - Hurray, you have started a new career at CT. Succes, FransS
10/23/15, 8:47 AM - Be brave, dear Vintage1949, and just keep your hands off this wine for some years and you will become rewarded, but I can't assure you to be as brave as I suggest you will be! Greeting from Holland, FransS
3/3/15, 12:36 PM - Dear Ecuri,So you have also had a hard time in Alta Badia! You are right; show your interest in the local wines and you make friends in the restaurants. Try e.g. the wines of Cantina Terlan (the Terlaner Classico) and you make yourself happy. Greetings FransS
3/3/15, 12:39 PM - By the way, I have already left the region, so I can't give your 'hi's' to the (indeed very friendly) sommelier.
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
