The other bottle of the two (see my tasting note below). as the previous bottle, however, with a litte 'but', because I noticed the first modest sign of age (in the acidity); still an adorable champagne.

Winefield's pre-sale tasting: I often have a kind of struggle with the older vintages of Talbot with often a rubbery impression in the bouquet and this '70 had, for me, that rubbbery impression. In the second part of the taste the wine was more balanced, but not so elegant.

A deep colour, a push of vanilla, bit sweet in the start, round in the midtaste, bit spicy and some freshness in the aftertaste.

Compared to the Kiwa, the Pahi has a bit more colour, has a tad more vanilla, some peppers and less pronounced bitters. The acidity is more gentle and the wine shows some roundness and lots of craftsmanship, but is not very inviting.

Very pure pinot, noticeable bitters, an aftertaste with a respectable length. The wine is quite linear, very well made but not inviting.

A wine I do not like; the bouquet shows a whiff of acetone in the bouquet and in the taste, banana (?) cardboard (?), missing balance in the (after)taste. It is hard to believe that time in the bottle will help this wine.

Très pinot, fresh red fruit, a hint of vanilla in the aftertaste, nice bitters, but overall lean and missing some complexity. Will time help this wine?

Young, well structured, a bit mint and grass, some vanilla, high and elegant acidity, balanced aftertaste; needs time to blossom fully.

See my previous notes, this time even a bit more creamy and tasty and still with cherries in the bouquet and fruit in the midtaste; a lovely wine 'pour trois fois rien'.

See my previous notes, pure, maybe a bit chunky, but perfectly balanced, in the style of a classic Meursault, not really refined, but a lot to taste.

Winefield's pre-sale tasting: A bit creamy style combined with fresh citrus, a hint of ripeness/sweetness, commercial, but tasty; correct mousse.

Winefield's pre-sale tasting: Always a joy to taste this 2000; cracking fresh fruit, lively citrus, an elegant and concentrated taste and tasty bitters bitters. The firm tannins (hallmark of the 2000 vintage) are very acceptable in the dense aftertaste.

Winefield's pre-sale tasting: In 1989 the name was still Alesme-Becker and considering the quality of the vintage I had hoped for more. Very mature, even a bit too, Although in the midtaste the body and the spices gave some compensation; the finish was a bit rough; still a very drinkable wine after nearly 35 years.

Winefield's pre-sale tasting: Certainly not the most enchanting vintage in which Dauzac made a friendly wine, still holding quite respectable.
There is remaining fruit, a lean, but tasty follow up, good bitters afterwards and the tannins are very acceptable.

Winefield's pre-sale tasting: Unbelievable, a horrible vntage and than nearly 47 years later this wine is still drinkable, even a bit enjoyable. The bouquet is modest, but fresh, no decay in tje liighy taste, suggesting a bit fruit. In the aftertaste the tannins are a little bit harsh; 86 point for the wine iitself and one for surviving so long.

Will this '22 become as well as the '21? The start is recognizable with the same impression as the '21: lovely red fruit, well dosed vanilla and wood, excellent ciitrus from start to finish, very pure and already showing refinement in the lovely aftertaste; promising.

A compact wine, even a bit narrow in the midtaste, simply too young. A dark coloured wine and you smell already the bitters; black fruit, concentrated , severe and finishing with firm, but good bitters, and noticeable, buut very accepable tannins, This Pauillac needs several years to ripen and will never become refined, but will be quite enjoyable,
