Red
This is a beautiful expression of Syrah. Violets, lots of red and blue fruit, some earth. Soft, silky tannins and a lengthy finish. All in all, beautifully put together, well balanced, and complex while still being light on its feet.
White
Pale salmon. Dried peach, orange peel, watermelon rind, and some dried rose petals. Interesting mix of things going on here. Nicely textured, medium body with a dry, savory, lengthy finish and fresh, balanced acidity. I like it!
Red
Notes from day 2. Medium intensity, with a nose of cooked and jammy red and black fruits, cedar and earth. Soft, smooth and elegant on the palate. Lots of black cherry, black currant, blackberry, black plum, leather, clove and spice. Soft, fine tannins and nice balance. Complex and well integrated, lengthy finish. Really enjoyable, especially on day 2!
Red
Wow, loving the aromatics on this one. Pale garnet in color with an intense nose of red cherries, cinnamon, clove, baking spice, wild strawberry and a touch of earth. Powerful on the palate with sweet and tart red fruit, and smooth and elegant fine tannins to finish. Nicely balanced and very enjoyable overall.

Lots of brioche, biscuit, green apple and lemon notes. Creamy mousse, light and fresh on the palate. Good backbone of acidity and a persistent, lengthy finish. Hints of almond, but still not a ton of tertiary development at this point. Still quite enjoyable, though!
Rosé
2021 Basket Range Rosé Adelaide Hills Rosé Blend (view label images)
Intensely colored, though the nose was a bit muted. Strawberry, watermelon rind, lemon peel, and red cherry on the palate. Fresh and crisp acidity. Nice rose!

Fragrant strawberry and red cherry nose. Clean, pure, intense red fruit on the palate. Medium weight body, leading into a short finish with some fine tannins and good acidity. Simple, and perhaps a touch of bitterness on the finish.
White
Creamy, soft palate with lime curd and spicy herbal notes. Gentle finish. Quite enjoyable and fresh.
Red
Beautifully aromatic and expressive nose. Lots of violets, sweet cherry, and grape soda. Pure, clean and fresh on the palate; soft and sweet blue/red fruit. Soft and fine integrated tannins to finish. Nicely balanced with good acidity. Good complexity.

Green apple, saline, and straw on the nose. Palate shows lemon, grapefruit and green apple, perhaps a touch of dissolved SO2 initially, and a nice mineral streak. Fresh and clean on the finish with good lemon/lime acidity. I think this would benefit from some additional time.
Red
Beautiful, elegant Pinot. A little bit of wood spice on the nose. Lovely red cherry fruit on the palate. It manages to be creamy, light and elegant, and flows into a finish with very fine and soft tannins. If I have one knock it seems a little short on acid on the finish, but overall this is a really nice, pretty wine.

I’m not sure what to make of this. Maybe a slightly off bottle? Comes across as slightly stewed, with some bright and tart acid and slightly chewy tannins on the finish. Soft and texturally elegant, the body has good mouthfeel and some plum and black cherry fruit. Might just need some more time and air to fully come together.

Dark salmon, almost copper colored. Pinot Noir dominated blend. Strawberry, orange zest, and dried flowers on the palate. Nice richness and fresh acidity.
Red
Loving this Yarra Pinot. It’s a nice, rich, fruit forward wine with complexity and depth on the palate. Rich red fruit, strawberry and cherry, and a little bit of sweet spice in the body. Dried rose, a hint of cedar, and dark red fruit in the nose. Very soft, fine tannins on the finish. Well balanced.
White
Lovely wine, lots of lemon curd, minerality, dried flowers. A nice creaminess on the palate and well balanced finish. I really like this overall, and think it will benefit from some age.
Red
Nose of red cherry, baking spice, slight herbal notes. Nice body, some spiced red raspberry and cranberry fruit. Lots of delicate, fine tannins on the finish. Nicely balanced with good acidity.
Red
Enjoyed this over two days. Lots of chocolate, violets, and plum fruit. This is rich but restrained and has a lovely, velvety mouthfeel. Very elegant, with soft, fine tannins to finish. Beautifully balanced.

Cedar and spice on the nose. Soft, elegant, and expansive on the palate. Chocolate and dark fruit. Integrated, soft tannins on the medium length finish. Acid is well integrated, if a little light, but I think this is in a great place right now.

This has certainly evolved since my last tasting, and I think it’s definitely ready to drink. Cedar and spice on the nose. Dark red cherry fruit, but still lots of fine tannin and acid on the mid-palate and finish.

Beautiful nose, so expressive right now with flowers, red fruit and spice. Medium weight on the palate with nice balance. Red raspberry and cherry fruit, soft and delicate. Finished with some bright acidity and fine tannins. Very nice right now, and still plenty of life left. Went nicely with some duck leg confit!

Soft, fine mousse. Rich and layered on the palate. Hazelnuts, almonds, brioche, stone fruit. Beautiful aged Champagne that still has some fruit and is still on the early end of the drinking spectrum. Finishes softly with good acidity to balance out the weight on the body.

Congrats, Joe and Kamala!

Still has some good, bright fruit, along with violets, lavender, black pepper. Nice intensity on the body. Dense and rich, leading into a balanced finish with lingering fine tannins and good acidity.

This reaffirms why Abeja is one of my favorite WA producers. It’s ageing so gracefully. Mocha, vanilla, cedar, and herbal slice. Dark red and black fruit, showing a little bit of age, but nicely integrated with the soft, fine grained tannins on the finish. Balanced acidity keeps you coming back for more.
Red
This has matured nicely, still showing lots of fresh and rich fruit that’s integrated with lots of soft, fine, and perhaps a touch dusty tannin on the finish. Elegant with balanced acidity. Good complexity on the palate, with just a hint of tartness in the middle.

Decanted for about 45 minutes. This was singing, with beautiful red cherry fruit, flowers, and a little herb. The tannins are well integrated on the finish now. I think this is in a great place right now.

Still going strong. Rich, full body with lemon curd, honeysuckle, beeswax, and some citrus zest. Fresh streak of salinity through the finish, which has nice length and balanced acid.

Vindredi (2016 Ports + California Cabernet) (Bellevue, WA): Hard to compare this to the 1970/1977/1983 we tasted alongside! Younger, sweeter, denser, and certainly more structured. It's got nice fruit and texture, and probably needs another 20 years of rest.
