Silvaner in Burgundian clothes.

Drinking very well and I find the wine reflecting my tasting note from two years ago. Great balance and maybe a bit more refined and mineral this time?

I do not see this getting better, but I expect this wine will drink well for the next few years.

Excellent wine. (91-92)

This wine was grown on chalky soils, handpicked and aged for 24 months in large oak.
(13.0% ABV; Total acid: 6.5g/l; Residual sugar: 1.0g/l)

Aromatic wine, with nose of gooseberry, fresh mint from the garden, tropical fruit with underlying yellow fruit.
There is already a completeness and seriousness to the nose.

On the palate, gooseberry aroma is dominant and the mouthfeel is creamy with the slightest touch of vanilla.
The acidity is giving good structure and freshness.

Fun to drink already, but for better assessment give this 4 to 5 more years.

Very good - Excellent (91-92)

Double blind.
On the nose not a lot going on. Some cherries, pronounced vanilla and some herbal or green notes. A bit muted. On the palate same aromas, high acidity. Mouthfeel very round, missing a bit of structure.

Pretty underwhelmed after the reveal…
Too round, missing character and intensity here.

##
Update for Day 2:
##

The wine has clearly improved after one day.
I had hoped yesterday that the wine needed air and it seems to be the case.
I recommend aggressive aeration if you plan to open a bottle of this in the near future.

The vanilla note, which I found irritating, is gone and the fruit appears less blatant and deeper.
I also like the spiciness that the wine now has, which, together with the tart cherry, reveals a BF character.

Unfortunately, I still don't think the wine is really great, but perhaps my expectations were just too high.

I was curious after reading the recent TNs here, because sometimes this wine was really closed down in its youth.

I happily confirm that this is showing already beautifully. Very intense and already fantastic balance with youthful fruit countered by fresh acidity and tannins. I noticed some vanilla and oak, it adds to the complexity.

Excellent - Oustanding Wine! (93-95)

Opened too early. Very tightly wound. Tons of sour cherry, round tannins and biting acidity. Give this 3, better 5 more years to settle down.

Very enjoyable, good complexity.
Our bottle really opened up after 1+ hour and developed a great nose of roasted nuts.

Juicy!
Style seems to be something like Kabinett feinherb.
Intense nose, driven by fruit and Mosel airiness.
Tastes reminds me of whipped cream plus peaches and lemon sprinkled on top. Great little wine.

Riesling from the Pfalz. Really nice showing of honey, peach and a bit of apricot on the nose.
Complexity is definitely there but I am mostly impressed by the balance.

Not sure if it is not completely dry or the intensity of the fruit gives a sense of sweetness.
Fascinating... but then on the finish it felt completely dry.

In a good spot right now. 92-95

More of a quiet wine. Shy nose initially, floral notes mixed with lemon, yellow fruit and minerality as the wine warms up. A note of honey on the finish.

I like it, a good or very good wine.
Let's see how it presents itself on day two.

Day 1 - 2: Same as before.

Day 3- 4: This actually developed quite nice after few days open and shed some of the VA notes. The nose got more precise and somehow I felt that there was more tannin than initially, which provided some welcome structure. 88-90 now.

Perceivable wood, tiny bit of VA, somewhat reductive, very good complexity.
Loses out somewhat to the Tarlant.

It was not universally loved, some found the acidity too high.

This stood out in comparison to the other straighter styles of champagnes we had this evening.

A tad below the '12 for me, but not a huge difference.

Grande Champagne: Fine texture in the mouth with a full body.
Toast and brioche notes, noticeable wood, yet mineral and focused, no noticeable residual sweetness.
There is a VA note that I find pretty off-putting at the moment, but the other drinkers did not seem to care as much as I did.
Maybe this can go away with aging. Hence, may range for the rating.

Very good - outstanding (and can perhaps still improve). 92-95

The wine is a little chunky and unconventional, but has a lot of depth and character.

Initially quite funky on the nose. No vinegar acidity, but glue?
Then more and more Blaufränkisch perfume and dark cherries.
Very spicy and the glue(?) also contributes to the complexity.
Somewhat low acidity for a BF.

Great QPR!

Edit: Added a point because I liked it better the next day. And I would add that this wine will benefit from a good decant.

It was good, but did not deliver the energy and freshness I am loving in Riesling. Maybe also a food pairing issue.

This bottle was open for business, not reductive or anything.
I have one bottle left, which I will probably drink in 2-5 years.

This wine is coming from a small village in northern Rheinhessen called Laurenziberg. And the wine is beauuuutiful!
Sadly Mr. Teschke stopped making wine. He is a real character...

This is wine is just bang on. I love the delicacy of it, intense aromas but very light on its feet.
Aromas are mainly raspberry and strawberry, with a mineral background and bright acidity.
If the acidity was a tad lower or the wine had more stuffing to counter the acidity, I would rate even higher.

Brought to a Thai Restaurant by a friend.

Outstanding wine! Ripe, concentrated yellow fruit, yet very balanced. Quite full-bodied for a Riesling.
After having the wine with food, I could sense some wood on the palate, anyway if there is wood it is perfectly integrated.

Good, but not a rebuy. Very aromatic (duh!), slightly bitter, alcohol is integrated but still too high for my taste (14,5).

Dry (4g sugar), but the intense aromas and the alcohol give a sense of sweetness.

Solid wine with good balance, but maybe does not turn me into a Dornfelder fanatic.
Blackberry, slightly artificial fruit flavour and a distinct herbal note.
Does not taste like 40 months in small barrels, but that's what it says on the label.

On the nose, yellow and green fruit mixed with a refined petrol note.
On the palate very precise, great freshness, multilayered aromas and lengthy finish. Riesling greatness.

Am I rating this too low because of the other reviewers?
This wine is at least excellent, if not outstanding.

I was consuming this bottle over four days and the wine held up perfectly well.

Very ripe and voluptuous - looking at you, 14% Alc - plus a lot of new oak are making this really hard for me to identify as Pinot Noir.
On the nose ripe dark cherry, some blackberry, little earthiness and all is outshone by tons of oak.
In the mouth the wine has a good body, quite a lot of tannin (for PN at least) and a fruit-driven finish.

This is my first time with this producer, so I am not sure if this style speaks more of the producer or more of the (hot) vintage.
It is very good wine, but I am missing the aromatics and elegance, at least at the current stage, in this wine.
Therefore, I will buy 2020 Burgundy cautionary after this.

Had this bottle in a restaurant with friends (thanks to the donor!).
The bottle was decanted and is ready to drink, while probably at the beginning of its drinking window.

On the nose, this wine offers fresh cherry, earthiness and (green) herbs.
Tannins are round and integrated, no noticeable oak.
Great balance and length, plus the acidity offers good freshness.

Drank double-blind. Pop and pour.
I was positive from the beginning that this was a CS dominated wine. Also, I believed that it was not from a super warm vintage (18 etc.) and not freshly bottled. In the group, we were guessing that it could be 2017, but that was just that... a guess.

A lot of wine for the money, intense nose and a lot of (good) structure. I believe there is some upside potential with the tannins smoothing out a bit more.

Just so accessible and complex for a medium range wine. Pure joy! Nose is a tiny bit of reduction, slate and tropical fruit. The palate is very balanced, the acidity gives good structure. Medium body and 12% ABV. Maybe not the most profound wine of you wanna criticize something..

Possibly just 91.

Bought this wine in summer 2020 at the winery and since then in my cellar.

I agree mostly with the other TN from Necowine. It is a very dark wine with ripe cherry, some prune, some fresh herbs(?).
The nose is a tad overripe. There is also a sensation of wood and the wine has still plenty of tannins.
And then there is this big hole in the midpalate that really leaves me hanging there...

Maybe you could compare this wine with very ripe Merlot? Anyway, I am not sure if I will buy this again.

A slightly funky note and a sweetness that is not in swing with the rest of the wine.

I agree mostly with isbjoern.
The nose is rather shy, with red berries and oak. I did not get any of the Blaufränkisch spiciness, also no funkiness in my bottle. Feels very tight or closed at the moment.
I liked the palate more, it feels like this wine could go places if all goes well. The tannins and acidity give a good structure to the wine, but at the moment it feels not harmonious.

Harmonious wine, everything in place and the acidity provides good lift.

Excellent wine with smokey and herbaceous notes, intense nose. It shows nice balance and good length. Compared to the '18 Knipser Kirschgarten the Ad Aram has less body and ripeness, but the aromas showed more focus, while it clearly showed the slate Ahr typicity.

Double decanted 1 hour before serving and the wine improved the whole evening. So while I think this is a treat now it should develop into something even better in the future. I need to drink more wines from the Ahr, cheers!

Very accessible but young nonetheless.
Intense and floral nose. Quite dense for a Spätburgunder, aromas of ripe dark cherry, red fruits and coffee. The oak treatment is very good, it is noticeable but integrated with the wine.
The wine did this Nebbiolo thing where the tannins became more pronounced around 2 hours.

Excellent wine that should gain further with some more years in the cellar.
