also given to me by Paul. i was to hold on to this for a trillion years in hopes of a miracle but recent moves and space dictates i purge the weak, and weak it is. i'd say it's flawed but that's being kind. never do this again. and i mean that sincerely!lol ;-)

mocha & vanilla immediately, plenty of ripe blackberry kirsch & cedar/mint. smaller amounts of tobacco & pencil lead. a very "serious" cab and only $40! originally bought 6, immediately bought 6 more afterwards.
i consider it "masculine" and should require steaks and cigars, imo.

fruity and oaky, something one could bring to a party and put on the table and not be heart broken when it's gone. consumed out of plastic cups at "a lie of the mind".

$22 well spent. a slice of maple pecan pie topped with a scoop of carmel custard. throw in some chopped dates and sprinkle with toffee. BAM!

it's like a sweet almond and brown sugar reduction, throw in some hazlenuts & figs and toasty caramel/toffee, done.
another under $10 experiment to see if i even care for these things.
so far, 100% yes!

surprisingly off-dry(somehow i thought it would be sweeter) with a very obvious nutty & smoky texture. i got a nice dose of orange liquer, maple syrup & walnuts.
an excellent entry level madeira for a beginner such as myself and under $10 too.
well done.

pencil lead and tobacco nose and a cassis filled with leather palate. 30 minutes in the glass turned this into a sweeter brown sugar & minty tasting beverage. it fell apart a bit later but has it's very nice 1 hour drinking window still.

$7.99, pours a dark brown/slightly oily black. no detectable nose. 18% but no heat. nutty butterscotch molasses and brown suger coated dates. both oily and unctuous, i find none of the raisin/prune aspects that i read about on cellar tracker.

a very nice introduction to the world of "port", altho i believe it should be labeled simply "dessert wine". very sweet, border line artificial sweet(saccharin?), with carmel dates and cherry almonds. a very fine light red slightly brown color. 18% alcohol was barely noticeable. $11.99 is hard to beat.

no fruit or honey as previously detected, but there is a small amount of dried wine on top of the cork with a clear running line on the way out. possible leakage but not entirely convinced. some nutmeg and lemon but that's about it. i hope this is not what it was meant to be.

12.5% - $11.99
"tempranillo with a part of cabernet sauvignon"

dark reddish-brown(brick) color, nose of stewed cherries and earth. light body with cherry liquorice and blackberries. dusty and dry finish, stopping slightly short of being jammy and lip smacking.

decent value, and knowing the markup park slope wine shops get away with, is probably an even better value at whatever it's "true" cost can/should be($7.99-ish?).

85/86(85.5 ?)-ish points

i'll also give this a few hours and revisit to see if anything new develops. yes, it's early. even for me.
