Grand délice! Vieux balsamique, cerise mûres, tannins fondus avec la juste dose d'acidité. Exactement ce que j'attendais d'un Valpo de 10 ans! Meilleur dans les 2-3 premières heures d'ouverture.

Robe légèrement orangée;
beau nez harmonieux, complexe, élégant, principalement sur des notes d'épices comme l'anis entre autre, des pruneaux & une petite impression liquoreuse. Une belle trame florale & de cuir complète un bouquet "à point".
Bouche en ligne avec les impressions du nez, la texture est bien lisse, corps moyen, bonne intensité, principalement sur les pruneaux, les épices & le tabac. Longue finale avec une belle amertume. Ensemble tout aussi harmonieux que le nez. Excellent!

Slightly orange color;
beautiful, harmonious, complex, elegant nose, mainly on notes of spices such as anise among others, prunes & a little syrupy impression. A beautiful floral & leather frame completes a "point" bouquet.
Palate in line with the impressions of the nose, the texture is very smooth, medium body, good intensity, mainly on prunes, spices & tobacco. Long finish with a nice bitterness. Together just as harmonious as the nose. Excellent!

I opened, poured and paired with a pasta + vegetable dish. I expect a wine at this price point to be “pop-and-pour” worthy. After dinner, I.e., ~45 minutes, the nose is finally emerging. Tea and flowers, some vanilla mainly on the nose, though it was mute for a long time. Light on the palate. Good balance and good with food. Medium tannins; medium + acidity on the finish. I heard good things about this on a podcast, but will likely not buy again. I’ll put 1/2 bottle back in the cellar and check again tomorrow night.

1/15/20, 4:30 AM - It will definitely have improved. The grapes come from the area of both Barolo and Barbaresco, but is not the finest storting. The wine is aged in oak for 2 years, and can therefore be compared to a barolo which only has to age 18 months in oak. I usually decant it for 2-4 hours before drinking.

Den 98 point-scorende Curioso er fremstillet af tørrede druer, ligesom man kender det fra Amarone, og dens varme og rigdom minder om god Ripasso. Vinen er fra Toscana, og vi sælger den til verdens laveste pris – den er rent ud sagt chokerende billig! Vinanmelderne går amok over 2015'erens blødhed og rigdom, og Luca Maroni har kåret den til en af Italiens bedste rødvine!
