Magnum. Stood bottle upright for 24 hrs. Capsule showed some signs of seepage, but we purchased from the winery, so we were not too worried. Base neck fill. Cork was saturated but came out in one piece. Beautiful aromas of stewed fruit and a touch of spice on the nose and wonderful bricking on the color. On the palate, the tannins had all but faded, leaving a fairly sharp acidic mouthfeel. The wine continued to evolve in the decanter for hours. Overall, the wine was not spectacular, but the experience of opening a definitely drinkable wine after 34 years is nothing short of amazing.

Decanted for 1 hr. Dark garnet, with a touch of heat on the nose. The nose also expresses strong notes of cassis, pencil shaving and cigar box. Mouth feel is a bit jagged at this point, but shows promise. Med finish.

Delicious. Opened for 2+ hours before drinking. Beautiful nose with a great mouth feel. Drinking well right now, but has the legs to go the distance.

Decanted for about an hour. Still too tight. This will be an outstanding wine, but it needs time.

PNP. Nose of cream de cassis, pepper, with a light touch of heat. On the palate, med body, quite angular, short finish. Felt bigger at the winery. Rated 89 for nose alone.

Nothing fancy. Enjoyable wine that pairs well with rich food. Upfront fruit with minimal tannins.

Purchased from the winery library. Neck fill, clean cork. Color is dark garnet with bricking around the edges. Nose of dark leather and slight sweetness. Full/med mouth feel. Tannins are present but fading. Acid is sharp and finish short. Paired with chicken parmigiana. Nice surprise for a 12 year Napa zin.

Masculine nose of dark currents, vanilla, and a sweet sent like lavendar on the tail end of the nose. Palate is strong and balanced, almost heavy in the mouth. Finish is on the bland side. Lovely wine that will be fun to revist in a few years.

- Purple color. It's balanced with a medium body. Juicy texture - Stood bottle up for 3 day prior to opening. Tasted before decanting. Nose was very expressive giving off notes of graphite, pencil lead, and dark berry. On the palate strawberry, notes of greenness and a bit of chocolate on the finish. After decanting for 30 min more bright berry is coming through on the nose and palate. Finish is still on the short side.

Not as nice as at the winery unfortunitly. Quite simple, with strong notes of oak and vanilla. This would be a great wine at half the price.

PnP from 1.5 L. The cork was is perfect shape for a 12 year old bottle. Beautiful color with heavy bricking around the edges. The nose offers notes of carmel, stewed fruit, graphite, and pencil lead. On the palate the tannins are nearly non exsistant at this point although the acid is still quite lively. Med bodied at best with a satisfying finish. My have missed the best of this wine by a couple of years. would not sit on any 750's much longer.

Black cherry, mocha, vanilla, tabacco, and a touch of mint are developing nicely on the nose. The palate is still pretty tight and the tannins a bit grippy. Everything seems to be in balance. The finish has gained some weight since the last time I tried it. Probably going to sit on the remaining bottles for a few years.

PnP. Very tight right now. Very little fruit coming through on the nose. Blackberry and soil mostly. The palate is no exception, tight and tanic. Starts to open up after 30 min in the glass. Firm tannins and a nice acidic backbone. Finish is muted and on the short side at the moment. Kind of have to agree with some of the other notes on this wine being in a wierd place right now. Give it another year.

Had at Il Fornio with a generous helping of lagnassia and wow was this wine awesome. So supple and smooth, yet masculine and refined. At $65 it is on the pricer side but it is so good you quickly forget the price. Bright color, stunning nose and a finish that will leave you longing for more. Fantastic wine which will last another 5 years without issue.

Very light color and ever so slightly hazy. The nose explodes with ripe red fruit, pumpkin spice and minerals. A touch of heat is present but does not take away from the bouquet. The palate is light with crisp acids and very light tannins. The finish is short. Overall this is a well made wine and has room to grow.

What a gorgeous wine. Decanted for 30-45 min. What a beautiful aroma of spice, vanilla, rose peddles and meaty characteristic that is just wonderful. The color is slightly fading but no bricking around the edges what so ever. The palate is smooth and composed. Everything is in perfect harmony. Finish is on the shorter side but very nice. This is truely one of the best Palomas I have had and it even gives most other merlots a run for the money. Drink now or over the next 3-4 years.
