Probably a bit past it’s best but a delicious treat

Oxidised , nutty caramel toasty flavours , bubbles waning - persistent finish - rich but light on its feet and changing in the glass a lot

A treat to visit these

2005 Chateau Musar Bekaa Valley Red Blend (view label images)
A lovely musar that has years to go - needed a couple of hours to start showing properly

Upon opening displayed an interesting but closed nose of muted dark fruit , honeysuckle and blossom (weird but fun ) later metallic , fig syrup , dried fruit , earthy mushroomyness

Palate has dark fig , full bodied , high acidity that really I think puts this wine with a steak a least - juicy and fresh , hints of meat & blood ,spice box , chewy and decent finish

Will revisit again !!

Huge wine. Brett, Dark cherries, spice, licquorice. Extremely big, slightly over the top even.... Very high in alcohol - enjoyable but would want to drink it with something ideally

Excellent Christmas day Burg.
Delicate but powerful on the mid palate, a really joyful expressive drop, spices

Lots of cherry, oak, typical powerful lingering spices, leather, but still quite a bit of fruit on this - needs time to unfurl
strawberry, blackcurrant, snowflake like textured finish

Very good

Showing age, brick edge rim.

Soft rich, sexy drop.balsamic, Tobacco, fine leather on fire, smoky, hints of blackberries. Fine awesome integrated tannins.. After opening it displayed a Christmas cake nose.. In the mouth you can chew, savour, adore this wine.... It's velvety, smooth, big without punching anyone in the nose.. Elegant in its power... Muhammad ali like, graceful & unique. It keeps going.. Dark chocolate, coffee,mm texture. Pretty epic and has probably a few years to go.

One of the best most unctuous shiraz ive ever had. Extremely complex and hedonistic. The nose was misleading, and much more subtle than expected. Subtle Cassis, leather, tobacco, smoke, vanilla, dark sweet plums The palate is where things take off...When it hits the tongue, its thick, unctuous, spicy, amazing to wash around the mouth, so layered, thick, extremely hedonisitc juicy in perfect balance and harmony- long , ridiculously enjoyable ending, so big but also somehow holds onto its dignity.

Gorgeous wine, pure napa sensuality. Delicate but precise nose, heaps of liquorice, vanilla, oaky smoke, blueberry cream, this all evolves and takes on more density with a bit of time Took some time to open up but it delivers a gorgeous, refined & juicy half throttle experience. Gorgeous mouth feel, the alcohol is well hidden, creamy, seductive stuff. Very good. Loads of liquorice!! Just starting to drink great now, with years to go / Drink - 2030
