Deep ruby. Nose of dark cherries and violet petals. On the palate, fresh, ripe dark cherries and firm, if not obtrusive tannins. Still young and in need of more bottle age.

Bizot dinner with Artisan Cellars
This was the first time I tried Bizot wines.
Immediately impresses with intense and vibrant nose of red fruits, spice and flowers. Medium weight but excellent balance of fruit, very fine tannins, minerals and acidity. Very textured finish with good length. I very much like the balance. The mouth feel is very good from entry to finish. WOW, so sexy. Re-defines what Marsannay can be.

PNP. Dark fruit. Smoky but palate closed. Next day, opened up nicely. Silky tannins, lightly smoky, medium weight with decent acidity to finish, giving a balanced wine. Not sure which way this wine will go.

PnP This Pommard is still very youthful. Initially closed but opens up with red fruits. Medium to full bodied with fine tannins. Elegant but not showing well yet. Needs more time but plenty of potential.

PNP from magnum. Wine still dark purple, with nose of graphite, black fruits and oak. Full bodied with well integrated tannins, sweet black fruits. Finish still rather tight.
Like other 86', tannins finally softening and the wine is starting to open up. Still needs a few years before it fully shows.

PNP. Cloudy red. Initial nose very funky but this blew off after 10 min. to reveal a fragrant nose of damp forest floor, kumquats and orange skin. On the palate medium weight, rustic, red berries with a very savoury finish. The wood is well integrated. Decent finish but not particularly long. Drinking very well.

PnP. Fruit very clean and fresh with firm acidity. With some time, better mid-palate. Finishes rather short. Agree that wines very well made but lacks personality.

PNP. Deep crimson to rim. Classic Sangiovese nose of cherries and some vanillin. On the palate, medium bodied, high toned red fruits and fine tannins, more typical of a Brunello. Finishes with decent acidity. The best rosso that I have ever had too.

PNP over steak dinner. Deep crimson to rim. Nose of red and black fruits. Full bodied with cassis, plums and some heat showing on the mid-palate. A long finish with american oak showing throughout but not in an obtrusive way. Drinking very well now and not showing any signs of tiredness. Delicious

Youthful and fresh, with plenty of energy. Medium bodied with decent mineral, fruit and acidity. Lacking complexity at this stage in it's evolution. Needs time.

Initial burst of new oak/Vanillin which blew off after a few minutes to reveal a full bodied chardonnay. With air, the wine showed more freshness and minerality, with a long finish. A very balanced wine today but with plenty of life in it. A treat

Initial oak and reduction which blew off to show high tone dark fruits. Wine is fresh with good weight but in need of some bottle age to integrate the oak.
