I see this wine differently than described in the notes listed, including the professional tastings. This one is just approaching drinking window and has a long ways to go. Drank over three days and the wines improved every day. The nose is pure Sangiovese, violets and forest floor; focused. The palate is balanced with dark red fruit intensity, acidity and fine tannins. Long finish. This had another five years or more to reach prime. Wish I had more.

Dark red fruit, touch of strawberry, earthy notes and cedar. Needed about an hour to come together on the palate, but then showed well with good mid palate and decent finish. Well integrated tannins, very fine. Slight bitter note on the finish.

Enjoyed at Boland’s with their liver with bacon. A perfect match. Wine evolving nicely since my last bottle almost year and half ago. Light red cherry and red berry fruit followed by earthy notes. Very fine tannins barely notable. Moderately long finish. At its prime now. Not getting any better.

Drank over several days and the wine just keep improving. Dark red fruit with earthy and mineral notes. The tannins started notable and refined over three days. Palate intense with great potential. This needs at least five more years.

No detailed notes taken during tasting. Drank with two other Rieslings and this was quite distinct. Typical petrol nose present but certainly not up front and dominating as one would expect from an older Riesling. Complex nose of bright yellow fruit, lime and mango. Palate balanced and finish long. Very enjoyable now but have the sense that this will evolve very slowly. Very little change by the end of the evening.

Forward nose of plum, mushrooms, forest floor and lots of complexity. Palate starts out almost thin but by the time the wine hits the back palate it is viscous leading to a long balanced finish. Very enjoyable. Drink now.

Tasted as part of a four wine Beaujolais tasting. No notes taken at the time. Overall impression - this wine needs more time. Started to open up by the end of the evening. Lots of dark fruit, mineral and earthy complexity. Tannins are very fine. Lot of potential.

Started out with fine tannins dominating the palate but within ½ hour pulled itself together. Classic rose nose, delicate, refined, pure. No tar. Palate is very structured, just the right balance of fruit, acidity and tannins; moderately long finish. Focused, elegant, classic.

This was an intriguing wine. Very slow to open, not giving much on the nose or palate, quite austere for nearly two hours. Then it slowly began to show bright red fruit and mineral notes on the nose and palate began to put on weight. Tannins were fine but notable at first and began to integrate into the almost viscous body; long, long finish. This wines need another five years or more. Drank over two days and the score reflects the second day improvement. May deserve even higher score in the future.

Colour show some age but not thirty years. Forward dark fruit with just a touch of lighter flower notes and hint of milk chocolate. The palate is more forceful with black and dark red fruits, lots of intensity to match the fine tannins. Very enjoyable now but has ways to go. Not looking to open the next bottle for 5 years at least.

Never certain how the older bottles turn out and this one was a very pleasant surprise. Fill was medium high and cork was in good condition. Colour still quite intense; dark deep ruby. The fruit notes jumped out of the glass, forward dark red fruit with mineral notes; still quite primary. The first impression on the palate is the sweetness of the fruit but that is balanced with just right acidity level; amazing balance and intensity on the mid palate and leading to a moderately long finish. Tannins were not notable over the intense fruit. Drank over two hours with no sign of deterioration over that time. I found the wine had a very relaxing influence on me while drinking it; it forced to be in the moment. I do not recall another wine such an effect.

Five years since my previous bottle of this wine. Forward dark fruit with touch of wood and mineral notes. First taste the wine appeared on the tannic side but very quickly put on weight and gained balance. Bright dark red almost blue fruit with mineral notes on the palate; very structured. The wine kept improving to the last drop over three hours. Very enjoyable now but better in another 3 to 5 years.

Squeezed between the Champagne and the red Burgundies, this one did not get the attention it deserves. Maybe because there was no specific meal course served with it. No notes taken while tasting but definitely very enjoyable, complex and with a long finish.

Cork was completely soaked. Deep yellow. Despite that this is still fruit driven nose with lemon, apple and mineral notes. Palate remains focused and complex with a touch of wood on the long finish.

This one has come a long way since I tasted it at the winery a year ago. Earthy notes with south cherry and cedar on the nose, very similar to the last tasting. The palate is much more integrated, the wine put on a lot of weight; very refined. The finish is moderately long. Drinks really well now. The only thing lacking is little more acidity to push the score higher.

Red cherry and spice notes. Ripe but certainly not overripe. Palate added mineral notes and very fine ripe tannins that were barely notable. The most notable aspect of the wine was how integrated it was on the palate and how drinkable is it now.

Dark bright red, just a touch of brick on the rim. Showed very dark red and black fruit with hint of milk chocolate and spice. Tannins are completely resolved and wine is fleshy and held together with complex fruit and just the right acidity balance. I do not think it is getting better but has years left.

I drank this wine over eleven years ago and I think I just need to repeat the tasting note from then. Well, maybe change the restaurant and take out the “still quite primary”. It has soften just a touch. “Stunning wine! Great dinner at Piano Piano. Bright red; very little sign of age. Forward nose of forest floor notes, violets, raspberry. Balance palate with intense dark fruit and touch of wood. Long focused and balanced finish. Everything a Brunello should be! Easily will go another 5 to 10 years.”

Colour is showing some age but still moderately dark and bright; just a touch of brick on the rim. Drank over three days and second day was the most enjoyable. Forward nose with red fruit and earthy notes. Still very focused on the palette with mineral notes and good acidity. Just heading into prime time but still many years to go.

The colour suggests some age but the palate implies youth or middle age at the most. Dark cherry and clean mineral notes on the nose; palate is light in texture with lot of flavour and very long finish. The fruit persists on the mid palate but the tannins kick in at the end; quite notable but ripe. Drinks well now but will continue to improve for years is my take on this one.

Pulled out of the cellar without checking my previous notes and it worked to my advantage. This bottle was more advanced than my previous one and certainly ready to drink now. Same profile as previous bottle was on day three. Wild red cherries with mineral notes, elegant and balanced palate, virtually to tannins and long finish.

I would call this one at its prime but no reason to rush. Forward wild cherry and cranberry with mineral notes; palate is razor sharp focus with very very fine tannins still notable but provide more structure that distraction. Moderately long finish.

This one is very appealing to me. All the elements of a great Sangiovese are here plus lot more; the forest undergrowth and violets are supported by balsamic notes and spice. All very forward. The palate is balanced, intense and finish long. It almost feels like 50 year old balsamic is coating my tongue. This is among the best Chiantis I tasted.

Not the best first impression, likely too your and too cold, but came around fairly quickly sitting in the glass. Lime, lemon notes with almonds. Palate started out thin but filled in quickly. With air and slight rise in temperature it became very elegant. Like the low alcohol. Finished on the next day; the air exposure was very kind to it. Even more enjoyable. (92)

Everything about this wine is in the right place now. Forward ripe fruit, white flower notes with just enough mineral notes on the nose; mouth coating viscosity leading to a long finish. Everything Corton-Charlemagne should be.

Drank from a magnum. The previous description of dark red fruit, strawberry and red plums still applies; forward. The palate was elegant but the tannins, though fine and ripe, were notable above the fruit; focused with decent mid palate and moderately long finish.

Forward dark red and blue fruit with dark chocolate notes. Very clean and pure. The palate exuded elegance yet incredible flavour intensity at the same time. Everything is total harmony. I do not drink Malbec on regular basis. This bottle I picked up at winemakers dinner at Quince in 2013 as the most interesting one in the lineup and it has exceeded expectations. Not sure how the wine will age from here on but I saw no sign of decline at this point.

Very distinct floral notes; very forward. On the palate the wine carries more weight than expected, quite balanced with good acidity and fruit balance, there is fruit freshness and sweetness, yet the wine id dry with a decent clean finish. Drank with Caprese salad with Mozzarella and balsamic; worked very well. Very enjoyable now.

I think I wrote in my last review of this wine, though different vintage, that this wine never disappoints. I do not want to say this one disappointed, but it did not get me excited. Perhaps a touch early for this wine/vintage and my preferred maturity. Everything I look for in this wine is there just slightly disjointed at the moment.

Drinks well now but no need to rush. This will keep getting better and likely to score higher in the future.

The cork came out damp; not a good sign. The wine showed more signs of age than expected, both in colour and on the nose. Light garnet and strawberry and light cherry on the palate with light earthy notes. Drinking perfectly now, silky and balanced. Reading others' tasting notes this bottle is in line with what others have tasted. So the wet cork likely did not matter. Drink up now.

Even more enjoyable than the bottle I had almost a year ago. The year added balance to the wine. Still forward nose of blackberries and earthy notes, very modern style. Intense fruit palate with earthy notes and good acidity to balance the fruit. Decently long balanced finish. I think it will continue to improve for few more years.
