Thin, light on flavor and color. No nose except for alcohol. Labeled as 14.5%, more like 15.5%. Very raw. Beautiful label but not worth the forty bucks plus tax. I will visit my other five bottles in a couple of years but don’t have much hope.
A ray of hope, I only forced down 2/5ths of the bottle and revisited it the next night. Slightly better but way to much alcohol forward.

Wonderful, fruity, smooth and refreshing finish. Decanted and took to my favorite French restaurant for my 76th BD. Shared a taste with two of my favorite waiters-much appreciated. Good thing the wife cannot appreciate reds any 3/4 of the bottle was all mine.

Wonderful nose taste and finish. As with most Orin Swift wines there is just too much alcohol to give it any higher rating. Same wine at 2% lower APV and you have a 96+ rating.

Excellent for the price. Cassis on the nose, blackberry and cherry and a little oak with a smooth menthol finish. A poor man’s Caymus.

Smooth with tannins that accent not over powering. Fruity and just a hint of sweetness, yes just a hint. This is not a sweet wine; just a very enjoyable experience.

Deep color. Raspberry jam on the nose. Plum, blackberry and spice on the palate. Has aged well. The alcohol burn has deminished but is still the only bad thing in my mind. What can you expect from 15.6%. Thirty to fifty five years ago I probably wouldn’t notice or care.

I bought this on a whim. I don’t like it, I love it for an everyday anytime wine. What it lacks in complexity it makes up in smoothness and light tannins. At 13% alcohol you can enjoy the grapes and not have to suffer the taste of alcohol. I will be going back to the store and hope I can get more at $59 or less. It’s coupon week.

This was 375ml I’ve had in the cellar 5-6 years and I am sure it aged differently than 750’s, magnums etc. Nice nose, solid color and exceptional pleasing on the palate. If I had bought a case I would be drinking this for the next 11 days. 94 might be conservative but 95 and better have to WOW me. This one just said wonderful, drink me soon and next time buy more.

Many nice flavors with a smooth finish. Not a heavy wine. Half ways between a Pinot and a Cab. The label is hilarious.

A friend brought this to dinner. He is known to not spend over $30 for a bottle. This was a regift from his cheaper brother. Wow! Surprise a wonderful Medoc at its prime. Smooth with that light tanninee finish. Went well with the veal piccata. For a $10 wine it must be hard to beat at that price. Will be looking for more.

Sorry GQG you open this too soon. Wonderfully fruity, oaky and mellow. Long sweet finish without being sweet. Wonderfully parried with a Frances dish at my favorite Italian restaurant that lets me bring my on wine. You choose: veal, chicken or sole. Yes, some white meats go well with good red wines. I do I bring them dessert at least once a month. They can’t do enough.

Highlight of my 75th BD celebration. Super garnet color and fruity aroma. Nothing sweet about this wine’s taste. Many flavors hit the palate; ripe dark stone fruits, truffles and graphite. Smooth tannins that cleanse the palate.

Mixer of fruit and spice on the nose. Two hour decant. Silky, fruity and hint of spice. Lingering finish. If you don’t decant the high alcohol will over power an exceptional finish. Should callas well for the next 10 years.

This probably should rate a 93 or even a 92 but never an 88. Just goes to show you that you need to cellar your good wines and drink them no sooner than seven years after harvest. The price of this smooth and mildly complex Pauillac gives it an extra point or two.

Best Beringer tasted. 5 times better than their highly rated reserve. Fruity with a hint of sweetness then the soft tannins wipes it away. Hides it’s high alcohol content well. Will cost this again next year and maybe it will be even better.

For a 10 year old port this was well above average. The nose was exceptional and the palate not disappointed. True it does not compare to 20,30,40 year olds nor the 1965,66, or 67. The last three getting 98 to 100 scores. But of course these three cost more than 10 times than this 1 liter reserves. I believe in rating copper to copper not copper to platinum.

This was a substitute since the restaurant was out of my regular and at half price night plus some it was fantastic. Okay it wasn’t the best Pinot but it was smooth and you can just sit back and enjoy an inexpensive wine.

A great 20 year old for the price. You can’t always drink 40 plus year old’s even though you would like to.
