Better than 10 months ago. Less tannic, but still needs more bottle age time to reach peak.

The 2019 vintage of this wine was the best Sauv Blanc I've drank in my life. And-one of the best white wines.

Tasted this and Turley Estate Cab Sauv (both 2018) blind. Tie right out if the bottle. After 15 mins air-MFN slightly better. After 15 more mins (30 mins air total) MFN clearly better-richer, more complex. My conclusion-Turley is a pop n pour. MFN is a better wine and more ageworthy. Both are good and good values at about $50-60/ bottle.

Tasted this Turley and Booker My Favorite Neighbor blinded, both 2018. It was a tie right out of the bottle. After 15 mins air in the glass, MFN was slightly better-richer and more complex. After 15 mins more (30 mins air total), MFN was quite a bit better. My conclusion is that Turley is a drink-on-release pop n pour. MFN is better and more age worthy.

Less tannic, more fruit forward and more enjoyable 12/21 compared to 2016 vintage bottle drant 10/20. Lots of bright fruit-more towards Paso Robles GSM than typical rhone (or 2016 Damien Louisiane). It was quite good on opening and better after pouring an ounce out and mostly keeping cork in for 2-4 hours. Maybe 2016 will eventually be better, but drink the 2017 vintage in 2022 and in the near future before 2016.

Better after open in bottle 1 hour. Fruity but balanced. Could be cocktail or food wine.

Nice structure w/noticeable Syrah-pepper and leather-tastes. Good variety of fruits. Will age. Will be better in 1-3 years.

Tastes way above its price. Probably not a long ager. Drinks well now. Lighter in style and Not as bold as many CDP or Gigondas.

Very tannic and muscular. Like many Gigondas, it needs a few more years before it will enter its prime. I think it will be a 92-3 wine once the tannins settle down.

I have a case and just tried my 2nd bottle. This time I poured most of it in a decanter for 30 mins and left some in the bottle. The portion left in the bottle was better and my memory is that the wine tasted even better May 2020. My conclusions:
-Don’t decant this wine. Like many pinots, decanting does not improve the wine. It might be better w/more bottle age, but not w/decanting.
-Maybe this wine is going through a dead period. I know that some CNDPs are great young and great again with age but go through a lull in between. This might be the case w/this wine.

More tannic on opening than 2013 BTK. It will probably be better in 1-5 years. It was best after 1 hour open in bottle followed by 30-45 mins in decanter (probably equivalent to 60-90 mins in decanter. Great fruit, balance.

I have a case and have now drunk 4 bottles over the past year. When 1st open-not tannic, but has some sourness, sharpness-not impressive. After 10-60 mins in decanter-much different and more complex-smoother, sweet black cherry, other red fruits, leather, forest, spice, tomato. Maybe it will be even better in a few years. But, it is quite complex now after 30-90 minutes in a decanter.

Not tannic. Maybe it is at or slightly past peak. It was best in the 1st 30-60 mins of opening (left in the bottle-cork sometimes in and sometimes out). Lots of Blue, Black fruit. Significant Sediment, so best left upright 24 hours before opening.

Red fruit predominant. Very nice, smooth. Lighter in style and less tannic than I expected after reading other cellar tracker reviewer’s notes. I don’t see it improving all that much w/ more age. But, I read that others do, so I’ll hold back 1 or 2 of my remaining 3 bottles to find out. If it does improve w/age, it won’t be to reduce the tannins, but to produce more taste nuances.

Good balance of a cocktail and food wine. Good fruit but nice minerality and substance. The 93+ rating from a reliable reviewing site is in the ball park.

Very fruity-dark cherry. Hint of pepper. It is a perfect “cocktail wine”, but it also pairs well w/BBQ chicken or ribs, or other bold dishes.

Costco purchase. Light, acidic, off dry. Tastes a litlle watered down. Nothing spectacular, but paired well with spicey Thai food. Peach and tropical fruit notes. Good for the $.

Buttery, medium oak, some peach flavors, more acidity than many CA chards. Good wine for the $12 I paid for the 375 ml bottle.

Tasted at same time as 3 other 2016s. This was the best. The others were Vignon Lirac (2nd), Guigal CDR (3rd), and Vignon VV CDR (4th). Rasteau was biggest, boldest. Had lots of ripe black fruit. Was in between French and California style. Better than many Chat du Papes at 2x the price. I bought 6 more.

Not up to the normal exceptional Schrader standards, but still a very good wine. Needed a 1 hour decant. Not sure it will improve w/more aging.

Lots of red fruit (strawberry, plum). A little spice, pepper and earthiness. Not as full bodied as a good Gigondas or CDP, but hard to find a better wine in this price range. If you don’t like this wine, you probably don’t like Rhones. JD 90, WA 91

Agree with others that this wine has a lot of Syrah blue/black fruit tastes compared to most grenach. Like all of Herman’s wines-it has big, bold fruit.

2014 had tart blueberry, blackberry and possibly graphite plus vanilla tastes and was 92ish 11/20. I decanted it in bottle for 30 mins and it was ready.
