Fabulous!! Re-tasted yesterday with other Grands Crus, for my friends and me, the best Margaux for 2019, better than Ch Margaux, Palmer and Brane (98-100)

I have to lower my rating for this wine a little bit, which is still just as sublime, but as after 2 years, I find that there are 2 wines (on the right bank) which, in my humble opinion, are still superior and to which I can't put 101/100... It's only my opinion!

So:

1) Lafleur 2019 100pt (101+++++ LOL)
2) Figeac 2019 100pt
3) Eglise Clinet 2019 99pt
4) Cheval Blanc2019 98-99pt

I, who am a fanatic of the year 2019, must admit that for the Northern Rhone (especially Hermitage and Cote Rotie), 2018 and perhaps even 2017 are very often higher than 2019 and 2020. For the Southern Rhone (Chateauneuf, Gigondas...) 2019 and 2016 are the best.

A great Mea Culpa!! This wine was tasted yesterday and despite my note below, it is certainly the best ever made at the property. And what's more, it's the last made by Marc Sorrel before his retirement. What a masterpiece!!! So I had to downgrade the 2017 which is still fabulous but with less of a hint of freshness. I put you below the comment of B&D which describes better than me this future collector
Guide Bettane + Desseauve 2021 (Dec. 2020): 19.5/20. Deep black fruity, fig paste, ripe and without heaviness or excess ripeness or alcohol. On the palate, the tannin is strong and perfectly ripe, powerful and structuring. Undoubtedly the ultimate masterpiece of Marc Sorrel for the passing of the baton to his son Guillaume. Perhaps the finest Gréal ever tasted from the property. In power and finesse in a rare balance, with exceptional length.

La Revue du Vin de France (The great bottles of the Rhône Valley n°645, October 2020): the Gréal 2018 asserts its terroir, with a slightly Burgundian accent. Violet, spices, liquorice... The purity of its fruit is incredible. A great wine to have absolutely in the cellar.

Re-tasted last night, without hesitation it is still the greatest Chateauneuf I have drunk in my life with Chateau Rayas 1990. And the more wines I taste from 2019, the more I am crazy for this year. Virtually all of the greatest wines I've drunk in my life come from this vintage. Lafleur, Pingus, Figeac, Eglise-Clinet, Carmes H-B, Petrolo Galatrona, Clos des Papes, Arnoux-Lachaux, Domaine d'Eugénie, B. Clavelier...
My only dream is to taste them all again in 10-15 years. I have at least one bottle of each.
Then I could die happy, LOL

I fell really in love with the whole range of Bruno Clavelier with his 2015 and especially his 2018 and 2019. Particularly the 1ers crus Combe d'Orveau, Aux Brulées and Cras which in my opinion are at the level of the greatest producers. On the other hand, even if I loved the 2020s, I think they are still a bit behind. Maybe it's due to the lower alcohol content and higher acidity???
