Of all the wines I’ve laid down, this lived up to the price and commitment of a decade and a half of storage. This had everything I could want. Fruit bomb, for sure, like a good new world wine. It also had a hint of eucalyptus like my favorite Rhône’s. Deep, layered fruit with sweet, soft tannins, perfectly controlled alcohol heat and depth for days. Perhaps my favorite wine in recent memory. EPIC.

Soft, earthy with quite a bit of tobacco and spice and prune. Lovely for the price!

I am NOT a pinot fan, but dabble occasionally when a lighter wine is required. All I can say is, I opened, I tasted, I put it away for cooking. Not just light, but "lite," this wine offers little fruit, little joy and little enjoyment.

Very heavy for a Rhone blend. Less fig than prune with a woodsy, almost funky side. Pop and pour impression is quite hot, and at nearly 16% it's not wonder, but will revisit after some time...

Lovely and elegant fig jam and intense eucalyptus spice. So much wine for the money. Drank especially well a little cool as it softened the slightly hot alcohol at 15%. For $20, this wine has a lot going for it.

Started off easy, but as tine webt by it grew less attractive. Woody, almost sherry like flavor. Possibly slightly damaged bottle.

Lovely grenache blend with hints of eucalyptus in a deeply extracted and intense fruit. Well balanced alcohol and very drinkable. Lovely!

Incredibly extracted fruit, with a lot of spice, eucalyptus and even incense on top of lovely soft and sweet tanins. One of the best and most interesting wines ever tasted.

Soft tanins, Fantastic wood, deep grape and light spice. Unusual for a petite sirah, with elements of a light zin. Loved it.

It's hard to explain why I love this wine so much. Yes, it's a little hot at 15%+ alcohol, but the fruit is so lovely and lively that it integrates nicely. Nice spice, great mouth feel and no other word for it - FUN! If you can get your hands on this wine, give it a spin.

Surprisingly interesting blend of zin, petite sirah, and other grapes. Not completely integrated, but a really nice, fruit forward and fresh juice, with some nice smokey background from the petite sirah.

Very much like the 04 I love so much, with less fruit and a more Bordeaux style which includes some earthiness mixed in with the lovely cherry and red raspberry fruit. Soft and sweet tanins showed the perfect age of this wine. Great.

Wow. I've never disagreed with RP more. This is a juicy juice, for sure, but light bodied a d obscenu alcoholic, with poor integration. The second bottle is aging for another several years!

This wine knocked me out. Wow, I wish I could get more. A lot more. The first impression was VIBRANT. Alive. Fresh. Fruity. Spicy. I loved this wine. The alcohol level is an off the charts, 16.4, but it's so well integrated you'll never notice. It's amazing how much fruit there is to balance the spice, and how much softness there is to balance the alcohol. I'd buy it all if I could.

Plum and hoisin sauce nose and peppery finish make this typically dark and full bodied petite sirah ultra typical of the grape. Great with pizza or barbeque.

Tart and fruitless, a sad effort compared to the brilliant '04 and the excellent '05. Ah well, maybe more time in the bottle will help.

Love this!!! Nice semillion flavor and intensely viscous mouthfeel. Great pineapple, kiwi, dried apricot. Very sweet. Not as balanced as a good Sauternes, but very pleasing dessert!!!!

Fruity nose but very dry, with slight fermentation still evident. Almost like a flat champagne. While the color is a lovely light pink rose, the flavor is pretty straight ahead white. Acidic and a slightly bitter finish. Crisp and pleasant.

Cork broke while opening. First tasted small sample as pop and pour to see what we had. The nose was extremely closed with very hot alcohol at first. First fruit started at about one hour open, with prune and a slight barnyard (my description of "dirty sock" bordeaux nose). Opened nicely after 2 hours. Still not super big fruit, but very French style big wine. Extremely long, slightly spicy finish, with quite a bit of tannin left. Good structre and full, sumptuous mouth feel, with deep purple color. Continued to get better with time, but alcohol was not as balanced as I'd like, and not my favorite style, but clearly an excellent example of a new world wine for old world lovers. I would have to say that I "appreciated" ts wine more than I "enjoyed" it.

Unfortunately, opened new year's eve after finishing the magnum of 88 Dom. Nice balanced acidity and decent bubble size and mouth feel, but lacked complexity and depth of flavor after real vintage champagne. Nice crisp alternative to inexpensive champagne, but not a serious contender.

Deep purple color and dense fruit nose. Very spicy for a cab and I would have pegged this for a Zinfandel blend! Not really cherry fruit, more like candy grape with a long, slightly bitter finish. Still a little hot for it's age and might benefit from more time, although this may be it. Shocked to find out this is a relatively low alcohol (under 13%) wine.
