Amazing wine! Drunk in a blind tasting of 10 bottles, included Chateau Cheval Blanc 2009. Matarocchio was best wine of the night. One of best italian wines I ever drunk.

Impressive intense and structured wine with dark fruits, licoricia and coffee notes. Opened in 2021 with 12 ys old, but still young could remain another 10-15 ys at cellar.

Nice shiraz from Romania that remembers wines from Rhone. Spicy in the nose, tasting blue and black berries with light oak touch. Can be kept for another 8-10 years.

Opening a bottle of Pisano RPF is always a pleasant surprise. This 2006 vintage shows power and intensity of a 14ys old boy blended with evolution and complexity of a wise elder.

Nice chard showing green apples and pineapple, involved by oak notes of vanilla, butter and straw. After a few hours opened reveal evolution traces of honey and almonds.

Bought this bottle at Addis Ababa airport in Oct/2018. It really surprised me positively. It’s produced in the Rift Valley nesr Zeway, one of the few places in the world with mediterranean climate (out Mediterranean Sea coast) at 1600 meters high by a French producer. Shows intense aromas of chocolate and dark berries. Good structure and mouth volume with long finish. Tanins still need time to soft and acidity is a little below desired levels.

Despite label showing this wine as DRY, in fact it’s semi sweet and didn’t pair well with my meal. In the nose has nice fruity aroma. Color already tending to gold, too early for a 2016.

Bought 2 bottles and went back to store to buy another 4 bottles. This a wine with great aging potential, so I want to drink one bottle per year until 2025 and see how it evolutes. Very structured and with mouth volume. Dark berries and plums show immediately. Fantastic for the price paid.

Produced with traditional method, this sparkling is kept a few years in the winery cave “sur lie” before been released to the market. It shows notes of bread crumb and sun dried apple with hints of honey. Vibrant acidity with persistent perlage.

This is a 2009 vintage on its peak!! Amazing marmalade with smoke and toast. Really smooth velvet tanins and still showing fair acidity. I have another 2 bottles in my cellar, but this wine can’t go so far. I guess one bottle for 2021 and another for 2022.

Nice Chablis with vibrant acidity and minerality. Notes of green apple and citrus fruits. Wish I could have kept to drink a few years further.

Merlot is not my favorite wine, but this one really pleased all my senses. I bought this bottle when I visited the winery a couple of years ago. Produced biodinamically by fantastic Bodega Chacra in Argentinian Patagonia, where Pinot Noirs 32 and 55 are really TOP. Vintage 2011 shows mature tanins that give a delicious velvet sensation in the mouth. Raspberry and cherries come out of the glass involved by an spicy and earthy sensation with black pepper and vanilla notes. The owner of Bodega Chacra is nothing more, nothing less than the grandson of the creator of Sassicaia, first great supertuscan.

A 2012 bottle drunk in Jan/2020. Fair wine for the price paid. Two years ago tasted upper level Garrafeira dos Socios which is a great wine. This wine exhibited rich in the nose right at the moment it was opened showing cocoa, toast, graphite, smoke and dark berries jelly. In mouth soft tanins with good strucure and evolution. Long finish.

Very intense and full bodied. Mouth and nose with dark berries and spices. CT recommends to drink 2018-2019, but I think this wine requires longer aging. I drunk first of four bottles. I will wait another 2 years to drink next. I think this wine will loose some intensity and reduce its agressive initial attack in the coming years and so become more pleasant. A higher acidity would be desirable to counterbalance.

Nice organic wine well structured and balanced. In the nose shows notes of dark berries, pepper and nutmeg, but high alcohol reduces perception of smells. It’s a 2013 but could easily age another 5 years. Vivid acidity and long finish in the mouth with blackberry and a spicy touch.

After 20 years still with good acidity and blueberry notes in the nose. In the mouth smooth tanins and taste of dark berries jelly, mushroom and truffles. Needed one hour of aeration to open. It was a great experience.
