Russk. A birthday gift from R+J. Just the right amount of cherry, acid and earth. I like the Faiveley offerings in Mercurey, 1st premier and village. A safe bet in Burgundy.

Russk. A great value from Trader Joe's at $12 a bottle. Starts off tight. But after 2 days in the fridge, very nice and drinkable.

Russk. I have had at least three bottles of this. I continue to enjoy it. More of the earthy east side Beaujolais, rather than the fruity side.

Russk. A very linear, clean, classy CC, with very good cut (minerality?). Nice acidity. 90+ pts. Not fruity. Not rustic. Would buy again.

Russk. 90- pts. Young. Not much in the way of interesting aromatics. No bell pepper. No Bret. Nice acidity and balance. I thought it was not CF or at least not all CF. No need for more, unless it's got a few more years on it.

Russk. Still like this wine. Drank in Maine. Light to medium bodied. Nose and mouth of cherry, dust, and mineral. No jam. Less brett than prior years. Good cut. 90+. Buy again.

Russk. Bought in Maine. " A blend of 60% Barbera, 30% Bonarda and 10% Uve Rare grown on alkaline limestone soils and fermented with native yeasts. The wine showcases a briney, crunchy red fruits combining with a saline mineral tinge. This is an honest farmer's wine, one which is described as semplice ma non banale — simple but not boring. " 90+. Get some.

Russk. The positive first. All three of the wines that I have had from this producer, the gruner, the Zweigelt Rose and the Zweigelt red are all thirst-quenching, with good cut and the clean finish. If I had to rank them in order it would be the same order I mentioned above. The negative. This Zweigelt shows a Smokey pinotage like quality that's a little hard to get past.

Russk. A strange Smoky quality, a little bit like pinotage. I also tried the buy Gilt red from the same producer and noticed the same Smoky quality, but harder to get past.

With this Rose, some of that Smoky quality blew off after a day or two. Did finish the bottle. Probably don't need more. 89+.
