Tasting Notes for mbattle@heinzoffice.org

(6 notes on 6 wines)

1 - 6 of 6 Sort order
Red
Still plenty of power and lovely dark cherry notes. Strong tannin kick which alters nicely over several hours together with a brightening of the fruit.
Red
1982 Château Cheval Blanc St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
The bouquet is shoe leather- all sitting rooms/libraries/dens should smell like this. Fruit is mellow but present; tannins are integrated and softly musical, the combination creating an elegant wine with pleasing mouth feel (suppose it is ample glycerin). As the wine opens up I get wet river stones and wet wool on the nose, and the fruit begins to stand out more. Indistinct red berries that meep it interesting and far from bland or without personality. Lovey wine and happy it is still drinking nicely.
Red
1985 Maison Leroy Musigny Musigny Grand Cru Pinot Noir (view label images)

A bit metallic at first but mellowed after some time, but also needed to be enjoyed rather promptly. Shared at Gunnar's svenshexa.

Still full of fruit- strawberries- with present and complex yet subtle structure. Amazing!
