Shockingly... still very, very nice.

This wine has a lot of runway left in front of it. While I like it quite a bit now, that was after giving it a solid 2 hours of air, and I expect the tannins to be very present for several years to come before they really integrate. I'll try to hold off of opening my next bottle for 2 years or so.

I think the review from '06 may have given up on this early, or maybe just had a bad bottle. This was a very typical (and by typical I mean darn good) Camaspelo. I little lighter on the Cayuse funk, but plenty of dark fruit, a beautiful long finish... my only complaint might be that the nose was lacking compared to other Cayuse's I've had. Wish I had more of this-- it's drinking really well right now.

Continuing my good luck streak on a Leonetti aged well past the CT drinking window. This was another nice little surprise.

Loooooooooooooooove the Charbonneau. From the magnum. Cork was REALLY soft, so I was worried as heck when I opened it, but this wine was still just great. Probably would have been better a couple years ago though.

Wish I had more... just crazy crazy crazy good syrah.

Still drinking beautifully... well integrated soft tannins, heavy on the merlot, a little weak in the nose department. Opened and poured the first glass about an hour before drinking. It could have breathed for 2-3 hours instead of just 1, but I was chicken that I might over-shoot the runway.

This was a surprise... none of the typical funk of a Cayuse syrah at all, even at initial taste w/ no decant. Bright and dark fruits, with a long, mouth-coating finish. In its prime now, IMO.

Suprisingly still very, very good. Glad to have a couple more bottles left still. Took very little time to open up.

Typically fantastic Cayuse... took a few hours to open up, and then was just wonderful.

I was amazed at how much life was left in this bottle. The concensus of the table was that everyone was worried it was going to be on the downslope of it's life, and we were all pleasantly surprised. Drank alongside a 1997 Woodward Canyon Charbonneau, a 1995 Pahlmeyer Red, and a 2000 Cayuse Camaspelo.

Surprisingly still drinking younger than I would have thought. Very very good, not quite as much "funk" as I usually get in a Charbonneau. Will let my last bottle sit at least another year or two.

Drinking well, but has a LOT of life left. I've got one more bottle of this vintage, and I think I'll let it sit another 4-6 years.

Incredible juice. Just heard the news that this winery is closing, and I'm just sick about the whole situation.

Not past its prime-- this wine was just plain spectacular. Popped and poured from the magnum and drank over 5 hours. This could still have easily cellared for a few more years at least.

Maturing very nicely. Needed a couple hours to really start opening up-- then it was a classic Smith Madrone cab. It had a distinct mineral taste at first, but that blended away as the wine open up through the evening. Glad that I have one more bottle of this-- I'll sit on that one for another year or two.

Still a few years of life left in this one. Ideally, it needs to be decanted for at least an hour-- it was much better as it opened up. Very good example of an Isosceles Reserve though-- lots of deep layers to it.

Wow-- another fantastic Camaspelo. The nose isn't as pungent as the 2006. This is a wonderfully complex and mutli-layed wine, and certainly has few years left in it.

I was expecting this wine to be way past its prime, but it was SPECTACULAR. The nose was almost like a good Cayuse-- very strong and complex.

Surprising still very good at this age. Drank over several hours, and the first glass out of the bottle with no decanting was wonderful and complex, with the expected smoothing out over the next few hours. Glad that I have another bottle of this, but I don't plan to hold the last one much longer.
