Reminds me of a traditional Spanish wine, ripe and fruity and aged. enjoyed it with some chocolate but otherwise glad I only bought the one bottle. Bought on sale

Had it with grilled steak and it went well the food. The cork broke into two pieces but the wine itself was just fine. Nice oak and fruit. With food very nice.

Found this wine intense for a CF, seemed more like a Sauvignon than a Franc.. Oak was strong, had it with grilled steak worked with the food but not on it's own.

Brand new my wine store just got it last week. Loved 2007 drank it 2 years old and bought a case. Love the cab franc something different from usual more popular varieties. Will buy a case to dip Into every few months

I would buy this again, nice balance of fruit and oak for a modest price

Much more complex and rich than we expected...didn't detect that 'garbage' aroma, can't say it was past it's prime since we found it better than at the winery's tasting room in 07. Sorry we only bought the one bottle.

Castel grape, as per the vineyard this grape is a little known variety developed from French and North American parents, aged in old French oak barrels for 10 months. Bouquet slightly barn-yard, colour is very deep and dark, taste has lots of plum and raspberry. Full bodied and fruity taste, finish almost port-like. Bought at the vineyard and sorry I only bought the 1 bottle.

Weak bouquet, citris dominant, refreshing as summertime wine but needed to be properly chilled

Very dark, bitter and tart the first day. Second day less so and the third day was much better expressing a complexity that spoke of oak and dark fruit. At 15.6% alcohol needs to be served with food

Was disappointed, tasted very basic, nothing special. No enticing notes of fruit or apricot-tasted like basic white wine of the type served at weddings-in short nondescript

I had a heck of a time with the cork which ended up in the bottle but the wine wasn't bad at all, oaky yes but other elements of the wine still stood out. Drank over two evenings enjoyed both nights.

Great colour deep and rich, oaky bouquet, Strong taste of oak if you don't like oaky wines this one might not be for you. Oak seemed slightly milder the next day.
