Brighter in appearance than all the previous vintages. Youthful, moderate aromas of black fruit, oak, and some medicine/herbaceousness. On the palate, exceedingly high, coarse tannins. Very powerful oak, hiding the black fruit and licorice flavours. Rating: average, needs time.

Developing aromas of black plum and black olive; med intensity. On the palate, lots of intensity, acidity, and high coarse tannins, with flavours of herbaceous mint, black fruit, and black olive. Unpleasantly green through it’s finish. Very unbalanced. Rating: average, can keep, but with all the greenness, it’s not going to get any better.

Absolutely love this wine - good Chianti example. Beautiful cherry and earth nose, with loads of acidity, dry finish. Demands some tomato-based Italian food. Lacks loads of complexity, but still a stunning Chianti.

Very disappointing. Not your typical Cali Zin. Medium garnet color, thin concentration, more red than black fruit on the nose. Decent amount of acidity, some pepper and fruit on the mid-palate, no tannin or complexity to carry through the finish. Decent for quaffing but not what you'd expect from a Zin. Much prefer something like the Old Vines Ravenswood Zin for similar price point.
