Drank with Moroccan beef braise. An absolute pleasure. Could also stand on its own.

Oh baby. 3.5hr decant and drank like MAGIC.

2017 Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico Chianti Classico DOCG Sangiovese Blend, Sangiovese (view label images)
Still not nearly as good as the 2016, but I enjoyed this a lot more than the previous bottle. It’s coming in to form. Drank with brisket.
Red
Drank with brisket. Decanted for 2+ hours but drank along the way. Good. Wasn’t blown away. Did get quite a bit better on the 2nd day.
Red
It’s just a fantastic wine with and without food. Don’t overcomplicate this!
Red
Drank with leftover brisket and green sauce. Pepper early on, then evens out. Great bottle.
Red
First sip was quite acidic. Benefitted from air. I decanted 3ish hours and didn’t get to sip much along the way. It was less powerful than expected. Drank with homemade pizza. Great stuff. I liked it. Agree with the flavors mentioned in other folks’ notes.

It’s not going to change you, but for $10 it’s pretty nice. Paired nicely with chicken Pozole. The wine’s jolly rancher nature cut nicely through the Pozole’s dark and peppery flavors. A pleasant 88 seems about right.

Lovely with beef braise
Red
Decanted for 60-90min. Are with steak and a cheese app. Fantastic. Best for me with strong food. It was superb with the cheese plate.
Red
Drank with Moroccan braced beef. Went awesome with that. A bit of air helped it
Red
Love this wine. Decanted this one for 2hrs.

Awesome! Drank with Bob’s pizza. Great with food. Can also drink alone, for me. Love this.
White
This was awesome with roasted chicken and thanksgiving food.
White
Great with shawarma-flavoured chicken

Didn't like it. Can't remember what I drank it with. Next time, do a big decant.

It’s definitely best with food. I like the first hour, then better to air it for a day.
Red
Loved this. Drank with ribeye. Decant the next one for 1hr+.
White
Rich, powerful. Nice with chicken, tots and green beans on a hot Texas night.

Drank with smoked beef ribs. Fruit with a little pepper. I love it.
White
Drank with grilled shrimp. Solid. Mal thought it was OK.
Red
Incredible with Peruvian smoked chicken and green sauce
White
One of the best whites I’ve had. M agreed.

Drank with roasted potatoes and broccoli, chicken thigh with penzeys north woods seasoning and a green salad. And a couple slices of white cheddar, because Wisconsin. The wine was great with it all.
Red
Awesome. M loved it. Another winner from Care. Has more herbal notes than the garnacha.

It's decent, but on first pass, I don't think I like it as much as the 2017. As time went on, the fruit came out more and more and more. Even after spending the night in the decanter. Next step is to do a side by side with the 2017.

Didn’t like it at all. Totally different from the 2015. None of the pepper. Very light body. Not sure how this got rated so highly on VV. Maybe my bottle was bad. Will give my remaining 3 some time to figure themselves out.

Drank with smoked beef ribs. It is super acidic. Paired decent with the fat of the meat. Didn’t like it that much, otherwise.

Acid and fruit early on, which I like. I didn’t like it as much as the acid faded. After drinking 4 bottles, I wouldn’t get it again for us.

Got from Kelsey, who got it from Jenny. Not going to change you, but also not a bad weeknight wine. Fruity. No tannins. Drank with my beef rib chili. Cut through the fat nicely.

Used some in a beef rib "chili," then drank some with it as well. I'm coming around to this one.
Red
Drank at butler’s. Hell yes with chili. Way better than last time.

Decanted for 3 hours, then drank over 1 - 1.5hrs with Moroccan lamb curry and lentil soup. I think I decanted it for too long. It was solid with the lentil soup, but not as good with the curry. It would be worth buying another 1- 2 bottles to try again with less decant time. At the same time, this probably isn’t the gigondas for me because I didn’t enjoy it nearly as much as the others I’ve had so far, though those are from 2016.

Decanted for 3 hours, then drank over 1 - 1.5 hrs. Drank with Moroccan lamb curry and lentil soup with Butler. Delicious. By around hour 4, it was losing its acidity (getting “flatter”?) and that decreased enjoyment a bit for me. I think a 1hr decant is the sweet spot. All 3 of us liked this one better than 2018 Kirkland gigondas.
Red
Not the Pinot for me. Boring.
