This is not bad, but pretty one-dimensional. Tastes like a cheap grenache.

muted, simple and uninteresting. Nothing like the previous bottle.

raspberries, vanilla, long finish, no sediment

ripe fruit - cherry, plum, raisin; decent finish, no noticeable tannins

Five months later decided to try another bottle - this one was much better. Ripe fruit, with a little bit of oak.

day 1: leather, burnt graham cracker, some fruit, hint of chocolate (didn't decant, but was open for ~3 hours)
day 2: ripe fruit but with something off-putting (diesel maybe?)

Overall I found this disappointing compared to the CSM Canoe Ridge line.

Red
rich raspberries, mild tannins, slight spice upfront

My first petit verdot. Deep purple color, blueberry/blackberry/plum, little bit of tannin. On day 2 I picked up cherry and vanilla. I wasn't expecting much for $10, but there's a lot going on with this one.

Zinfandel-dominant blend. I struggle with identifying the fruit flavors in Zinfandels, so I'll just say typical Zin fruit amalgamation with some hints of baking spices. Mild tannins - well integrated, and not noticeable at first. Short finish. Paired well with pepperoni pizza. Excellent QPR at $15.
Red
It is on the lighter side, but I didn't find it lacking in fruit. Although I was expecting more complexity given the $40+ retail price. Would buy again at the lastbottle price.
Red
blackberry on the nose, plum+blackberry on the palate, long plum aftertaste
Red
2013 Matchbook Tinto Rey Dunnigan Hills Tempranillo Blend, Tempranillo (view label images)
Slight gritty tannins upfront. Despite the opaque appearance, flavor is on the lighter side - strawberry, pomegranate.
Red
2017 Rodney Strong Upshot Sonoma County Zinfandel Blend, Zinfandel (view label images)
Tastes like a typical zin+merlot blend. Easily drinkable, but not really any more interesting than similar, cheaper blends.
Red
This is gross - smoky, candied fruit, and vanilla ice cream
Red
Flavor was muted at first, but opened up after about 30 minutes. Cherry, some spiciness, mild tannins, occasional heat on the finish. Paired well with meat pizza.
Red
red and black fruit, leather, herbs, hint of cocoa on the finish
Red
ripe fruit with a not so subtle leather/earthy flavor
Red
Rich raspberry and blackberry, quite fragrant, and purple inky color. Remains one of my favorites.
Red
Tastes like cherry pie and diesel fuel, with a hot finish and a bitter aftertaste.

Some spice on the front, blueberry on the finish, and a lingering sour blueberry aftertaste that I found off-putting. Didn't pair well with a meat pizza.

Sour cab. Typical cab flavors in there, but the citrus dominates. Not bad if you're in the mood for a lighter cab though.

Blackberry is the main flavor I detected. Didn't really notice any pepper or spice. Slight tannins. Finish was hot at (summer) room temperature; somewhat better after being chilled. Not sure I'd buy again at $15.

Smells like merlot, with a whif of diesel(?) at first. Taste is primarily cherry, with a sharp tartness and mild tannins. Not bad for $8 I guess, but I'm not really a fan of merlot and this one didn't change my mind.
Red
Ripe fruit with some balsamic notes. I didn't find it too hot at 15.7%, but I like bold wines.
Red
integrated flavors of fruit and vanilla with a hint of spice
Red
black fruit, spice, some meaty notes as it opens up

smooth, taste of berries, a bit sweet

Wow, this is bad. Nose is rubbing alcohol and barnyard and the taste is pretty much the same, with a little bit of fruit on the finish. Aftertaste has a hint of embers? Not any better on Day 2.
Red
spicy/peppery, blueberry with a hint of cured meat

Brief herbal note at the front, then sour cherry with hints of citrus (grapefruit, orange). Lighter body than I was expecting from the deep ruby color.

Quite sour - like sour apple/cherry, with a bit of grapefruit

2015 St. Francis Claret Sonoma County Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
opaque, deep purple color, slightly hot finish (it's 14.8%), mild tannins

I had one of these last summer and found it enjoyable with good spiciness. So I bought a few more from the LB marathon in Dec. Opened one this weekend and was disappointed - it had almost no nose and tasted flat, no spice. Bad bottle? Past its prime?

Strawberry, chewy tannins, oak-heavy even after being open 1-2 hours. Oak subsided on day 2, allowing more fruit flavors to show through.
