Decanter 2 hours. Tar, eucalyptus, vanilla, and baking spices on the nose. Cassis, black plumb, cedar, and fine grained tannins on the finish. Really nice expression of Napa Cabernet.

Really smooth and mellow at this point, with the blue fruits mingling with hibiscus tea and loam. No reason to sit on these much longer.

Impossibly deep nose of fig sauce and macerated black cherry. Blackberry preserve, tar, and eucalyptus glide on the palate into plumb and red pepper, finishing long and smooth. Fantastic now, could age for several more years.

Bordering on cloyingly sweet right now. I hope it finds a better balance in the future.

2 hour decant. Candied cherry and a whiff of mushroom on the nose give way to a plush, balanced mouth feel packed with blackberries, orange rind, smoke, and black cherry. Lovely.

Emblematic of the vintage in that the nose & palate are clipped a bit short, but nice notes of blackberry, licorice, and singed alder after a 1.5 hr decant. Would hold another year or so.

Bright and defined, serving up waves of lychee, pineapple, guava, and mineral. Proved to be a perfect foil for Korean fried chicken.

Enters with a knife edge of herbal salinity, then gets a little broader on creamy but dry Granny Smith apple and mango notes. Real bang for the buck in this offering.

Rich and unctuous, coating the mouth with pineapple paraffin before a beam of Meyer lemon slices through, finishing on a slightly chalky note. Delicious.

In a great place to drink. Baking spices on the nose lead in to a palate of tobacco and graphite wrapped around a red cherry core

3 hr decant from magnum. Started off a little tightly wound, so still lots of stuffing to last in this one. As it opened up, gorgeous flavors of red currant and red cherry along with plumb, leather, and fine grained tannins. Long finish - epic with spice rubbed NY Strips.

Damson plum, pepper, amd floral notes on the nose which carry through on to the palate, picking up fig sauce, beef, and iron, finishing with a hit of acid and tannin to keep everything in balance. Nice one.

This is really sailing right now. 4 hr decant, and there is wave after wave of black fruit: cherry, blackberries, fig, currant. Tannins completely smooth and integrated, with hints of bell pepper and vanilla on the finish.

Drinking beautifully after a 2 hr decant. Deep and dark with a garnet tinge, offers waves of cassis, plumb, and bing cherry underneath pencil lead and tobacco notes that soar into a long, decadent finish. In a beautiful place now, could probably lay down for a few more years as well.

2.5 hour decant and it’s really coming into its own. A frame of bay, cedar, and mocha surround black and blue fruit with a zing of cranberry leading into a long, medium grained finish. Drink or hold for another couple years.

PnP. A yeoman-like effort. Nothing out of place, but nothing really special either. Black cherry, forest floor, and dusty tannins vie for top billing. I feel like I want to pair it with food next time to see if it comes out of its shell a little more.

Deep, dark ruby. PnP and initially it was a bit boozy, but after some air the focus really pulled together. A consistent beam of acid and tannins with smooth plumb, fig, red cherry, and cedar coated the mouth. Wish I had more for summertime grilling.

An arms race between lemon citrus and steely mineral, with the citrus winning. Bone dry, with floral and herbaceous undertones overwhelmed by the primary flavors.

Still a bit closed after a 1 1/2 hour decant, but after another hour in showing nicely. Macerated black plumb, candies cherries, and violet lead the charge to fine tannins and a tangerine hit at the end.

Young, but it’s all there. 2 hour decant, and opened up nicely as the evening went on. Red fruit and cedar lead the way, followed by black olive and very grapey black fruit with silky tannins pulling it all together on the floral finish. Banger of a QPR for Napa Cabernet.

In its prime drinking window, unfolded like a flower in the sun with 30 minute decant to reveal peppered beef, extracted plumb and fig, orange rind, forest floor, and a beam of sour cherries. Exquisitely balanced.

Probably my favorite Cabernet I’ve ever had. Opened one exactly a year ago, and am even more blown away this time with the power, grace, harmony, and integration. In it’s prime window to drink now, especially with a good ribeye. Notes ranged from plumb, currant, mocha, black tea, graphite, fig sauce, and blueberry, sailed on the finish for miles and left me shaking my head in wonder. Epic.

Noir is a fitting name for this deep, dark beast. Almost opaque ruby in color, the nose jumps out of the glass, presenting baking spices, plumb reduction, and candied bacon. Waves of black fruit, cassis, crushed rock, and fig sauce surf on the palette through a long finish. Drink now.

Textbook CDP, soft and pretty yet balanced with mineral, acid, and tannins. Jumps out of the glass with plumb, fig, blackberry, rose petal, and tar. Sails smoothly for the distance, standing up well to food. Drinking beautifully now, or could lay for a couple more years.

Hints of fig sauce and mocha on the nose, medium bodied cab in more of the old world style. Tightly wound on the palette, with notes of cassis, sour Cherry, mint, and cedar. Tannins completely integrated and barely noticeable on the medium length finish. Not for lovers of big bold ripe cab, right up the alley if you like it in this vein.
