Think I just drank an oak tree. Pass.

Really deep red fruits, nice tannins. Definitely needs some time to open up, I gave it an hour, could of used more.

At first had a way over the top raisin juice thing going. A tad sweet, almost port-like. A few hours in and it totally mellowed out and the flavors really came together.

Drank the the '06 Jarvis Petit Verdot alongside a '06 Petit Verdot from Virginia's Blenheim. Both had good nose and drank quite well -- lot of dark, dried fruits. The Blenheim kind of faded away in the mid-pallett where the Jarvis had a nice long finish. A hour and a half in, the Jarvis had really opened up whereas the Blenheim was pretty much the same. Great showing from both wines, Thomas Jefferson would be proud.

drank really well, popped and poured, smooth fruit, just the right amount of oak and well balanced tannins.

decanted for about 5 hours nose of chocolate, tar, big dark fruits and eucalyptus.
solid tannins, although slightly bitter, all the way though, and lots of black licorice on the very long finish.

Earthy, mellow red fruit, well balanced. Paired great with duck legs and roasted potatoes.

Staying true to the style of Spain and more specifically Rioja, Letras is the perfect balance of power and finesse. This wine has been created for the first time from four Old Vine Tempranillo Vineyards and without the use of American oak during its 15 months of oak aging (French oak / 25% new). Soft and supple texture, extremely aromatic, with ripe black fruits and a hint of fine vanilla on the palate. 200 (6) packs produced.

cracked it open and it smelled questionable, two hours later it was fantastic. smooth tannins, very mellow yet still somewhat acidic. only disappointment is that this is our last bottle . . .

ugh. i **really** want to support/enjoy local wines, but it's so hard when you're paying $25 and they're so undrinkable.

lots of dark fruit, very tannic . . . nice and fruity up front, kind of a weak finish. opened it about an hour before drinking, should have opened it up a bit earlier.
