We drank this over 3 days, and its still growing and growing. Wow, so happy about it and so sad about the fact this won't be continued. This is great! Renato Vacca was one of the already big stars and still rising big stars in Barbaresco region. People who knew him were all attached and descriped Cantina del Pino as one of their favorites. The 2016 is very structured. It has huge potential, maybe the biggest ever from all the Barbaresco Ovello that have been produced. Deep and bright at the same time. Keep it! It's worth to wait! 95 for sure, maybe even more...

3/29/21, 10:05 PM - It was a bit shy in the first moment but not shutdown. For me was impressive to see how it kept its aromas over the days. I drunk it in Gabriel Glas and zalto Burgund. Enjoy it, in my opinion it's great!

2016 Bartolo Mascarello Barolo Nebbiolo

Blinded. Light red in color. Nose was fresh juicy red fruit, strawberries. Palate has hints of earth, black tea, with a slight sweetness to it. Good acidity, and then - the hammer drops. A wall of tannins comes in and shuts you down. This has to be a Barolo, and with that juicy red fruit, I guess 2016 Bartolo. boom! :)

The acidity is the first thing I notice. This has a lot. Smooth in the mouth. A small bitterness. I don't know but I expected some funk but there is none. Some alcohole. I think this probably should get some more time. 90 for now.

9/27/20, 2:34 PM - sounds to me a bit like a bottle with maybe slightly kork? Kork can express itself like a veil for the aromas which aslo doenst go away with time and air. my bottle was totaly diffrent..
