Happy to say I've been grabbing 6 bottles at a clip since 2007... If you like a big wine that socks you in the mouth as your drinking it, this is it. This wine drinks like a champ, on the nose, leather, tobacco, and a hint of black fruit. On the palate, it's so hard to narrow down other than to say it lasts a minute plus. Decanted for 3 hours before trying and still tastes young. I'd say on par with the 07 I tried. Good juice for the price!!

Huge QPR... Had this first a year ago at an upscale restaurant in our town and loved it... Just opened another 09 today... On the nose, green apple and petrol... More apple on the palate, and sweet sweet sweet... If your into sweet rieslings this is one to try... Impressive!!!

Nice purple color in the glass... nose is ripe fruit with a hint of floral... On the palate, fruity, maybe some strawberry.. lots of heat to work through, which suprised me after aeration and 2 hour decant... overall not worth what I paid for it, but an ok malbec... I think there would be better ones for less out there.

Did someone say oak?!?!

Nice color in the glass.. Decanted for 2 hours and had a glass, heat and oak were unavoidable... Left it in the decanter for another two hours.. Heat mostly gone, but still oak everywhere.. Day two straight out of the fridge, it was drinkable but not what I was looking for in an interesting varietal...

Nose: On the nose, I get heavy smoke... Maybe some light vanilla underneath, but really almost to the point of tasting it I smell smoke and vanilla, almost like I'm camping and the fire is going and I'm smelling french vanilla coffee...
Palate: Right away, like a punch in the nose I get black fruit. Lots and lots of blackberry and mocha... and oak. lots of oak, but not overbearing. It doesn't last long but its not to be ignored... If that was it for the wine it would be special, but there is more...The midpalate to me is all eucalyptus. It's a nice transition from fruit to a minerals and eucalyptus plant, and I can really really identify with it and like it. Still tasting oak and some maybe its cassis (not sure what exactly that would taste like). Really nice. The finish. Yeah, everyone who says a minute long finish on this wine is lying. It's a minute 30 if not two minutes long... I don't want to take another sip because I can still taste and enjoy the prior.
The tannins are there, but they are just adding to the complexity and taste of this wine. I had no idea, but tomorrow I am out in force looking for more of this wine, now my favorite ever... If you haven't had this beast, or if your new and want to experience wine at its finest, look no farther...

Barely catching apple on the nose... buttery with a hint of apple, lacking on the midpalate and the finish is actually nice and crisp with little aftertaste.

Not impressed. Maybe I didn't let it sit long enough but way too much heat for me to enjoy. Last bottle I'll decant awhile and see if its any better, but the alcohol buried any other taste for me.

shame that this was my last bottle. Lots of black fruit on the nose, on the palate had a nice spicy finish that I really enjoyed. Need to find more as this was a great QPR IMO

Very smooth... No tannins to speak of and had a nice finish to it. We enjoyed it with rib-eye steak and green beans. One more to open and getting late in the game so I will be cracking it soon.

Tight nose.. Thick nectar like consistency, some peach and nectarine well balanced with acid.. Had it with a chicken and white sauce dish, went well together

First wine I'm scoring and what a way to start. Nose is great with lots of cola and some spice. After an hour of decanting, I was very very happy with this wine. Large sour cherries and strawberries that fit nicely with the acidity, which wasn't too overpowering... Also tasted a far amount of peppery spice, which I like alot!!
