Dark ruby in the glass. Nose shows some alcohol notes, spice, cherry compote. Nice acidity, bold and full bodied, with spice, cherries, forest floor, black pepper. Medium tannins, medium long finish with vanilla and spicy notes. A decent Cabernet, maybe disjointed somewhat at this stage. I would give it 2 hours of air.

Light ruby, with nose of red currants that is understated. Medium acidity, herbal notes, bell pepper, not much fruit and some red currants maybe; light tannins, spicy finish. Not recommended.

Had it on American Airlines on my way home from London. Nose is somewhat muted with light white flowers. Medium acidity, light mousse, herbal notes, some lemon, some orchard fruits. Peppery ending that’s medium-short. Not a great Champagne but on a plane it will do.

Ruby, with cherries and lavender in the nose. Fresh and round, medium acidity, cherries, pout pourri. Medium+ oaky finish. A straightforward, enjoyable Ribera that will not age much probably but that’s in a good spot now.

Fantastic sherry wine, that paired perfectly with black truffle risotto. Lots of umami flavor in this quite dry version. Intense.

Pitch dark in the glass. Mature nose with plums, bramble, mushrooms. So much going on. Medium+ acidity, so much dark fruit but also leathery notes emerging, cocoa, forest floor - so intense yet elegant. Medium tannins, and a long ending with black pepper, spice, and a hint of aromatic wood. Spectacular!

Mature hue in the glass, showing its age. Nutty aromas in the nose, slightly oxidative but so elegant. Medium acidity, lemons, oranges, hints of smoke, very complex and somewhat dense, with almond notes here and there and a long, lingering ending. Excellent.

Light nose of apples, elegant, fine bubbles. Good acidity and mousse, very fresh and citrusy on the palate but lacking a bit of other fruits. Medium ending with some Mayer lemons. Minimal yeast. Good as aperitif.

Ruby color, no bricking. Nose is fresh and vibrant, with notes of cherries, strawberries, figs, some faint mushroom. Nice acidity, then elegant dried cherries, white pepper, plum, dark chocolate; medium tannins, and a long ending with oak and spice.

Very elegant aged Amarone. I had a 2000 Zenato Riserca in 2021, and this was much fresher than the other one. Very elegant yet powerful at the same time, this bottle showed great balance and expressivity. Everything you’d want from aged Amarone in my opinion. Excellent.

Nice ruby color in the glass with minimal bricking. Nose of brambles and black currants with some reductive notes. Medium+ acidity, and then all the typo city of Cabernet Franc coming out with red currants, lots of pencil led, some forest floor, grippy tannins still, and medium+ ending with some oak in it but overall nice and balanced.
In a great spot now, no rush as I think this might actually develop further. Drink now-2030 or even later if you store your bottles well. Highly recommended.

As it aged, the aromas have become deeper and more complex than the first year 3 years ago. Nose shows almost honeyed notes together with orchard fruits. Palate has medium acidity, dense, with some honey, slightly oxidative notes, pears, peaches, and a reductive, medium-long ending. I wouldn’t wait much longer to drink it - unless you stored this impeccably - but I found it very enjoyable and complex at this point in time.

Drank almost at room temperature on day 1. Nose of apricots, peach, pinaeaplle - very fragrant. Nice acidity, papaya, apricots, lemon custard with a note of spice in the palate. Young, overall fresh, full bodied, with a long finish. Will improve with age for sure, but already very enjoyable.

Expressive nose with cherries and pout pourri. Zippy acidity, some minerals, grippy tanins; forest floor and cherries, with hints of smoke. Spice and a tad of wood on the medium+ ending.
Very approachable yet young, it was a very enjoyable Barolo that will no doubt improve with age. Better than my previous bottle a couple of years ago.

Open for Easter lunch to accompany ful medames and roasted lamb. Cork was perfect and came out nearly with Durand. Beautiful light ruby color that’s slightly cloudy. In the nose, still lots of cherries, with some mushrooms and forest floor notes. Bright medium acidity, beautiful cherries, some leather, cocoa beans and medium - tannins in the palate; long ending with some oak and spice.
I opened the wine and let it breather for about 90 minutes - some air did it wonder. An extremely good wine that shows its age graciously, without forgoing much of the beautiful fruits it must have expressed even more in its youth; however, what it gave up in fruit it gained in secondary and tertiary notes, making this a complex, complete, and very enjoyable wine. No rush to drink really - but this is in an incredible spot now.

Pitch dark in the glass. Very expressive nose with sweet strawberries, raspberries, and vanilla. Great acidity, lots of red fruits on the palate that show depth and maturity but with lots of freshness. Some secondary notes of dried flowers, medium tannins; long and lingering ending with cedar wood and a hint of white pepper. My first Turley - it did not disappoint. This is complex, expressive, and extremely delicious. Petite Syrah is often an overlooked grape, but this wine shows what a good producer can do with it. No rush to drink it.

Super expressive in the nose, with cherries, dried flowers, oak. Wow. Nice acidity to balance the tannins, some medicinal notes, belle pepper, tons of black cherries, tomato vine, coffee beans; ending our long with aromatic wood.
Wow such a wine! Great spot now, secondary notes are definitely emerging but it’s still young and vibrant. Drink now or hold - no rush here. We had it with homemade ragout and penne - was perfect!

Nose shows brumble but it’s subdues. Medium acidity and tannins, this showed much better on day 2, with forest floor, coffee beans, blackberries, belle papers; ending was pretty long with some oak. Still young, it needed a lot of air to open up, but then it was showing very nicely. I would wait 4-5 years honestly, but even with that this is delicious already - just give it a lot of air.

Deep golden color in the glass. Tried at about cellar temperature first. Nose is intense, with mulberries, yellow apples, oak. Full bodied, with medium+ acidity, spice, apples and hints of peaches, very mineral, with notes of butter that give it a creamy feeling without being overpowering. Ending is quite long and oaky.
I feel this is still young and could improve with 2-3 more years of cellaring. However, it’s already very enjoyable. Classic California Chardonnay - full body, creamy, oaky - but well-made and elegant in its own way. Very enjoyable.

P.S.
- This was better on Day 2/3, after the heaviness of the oak subsided somewhat. Excellent then. So: decant it for a couple of hours before drinking!

Pitch dark and still very young-looking in the glass. nose somewhat restrained, but plums and a lavender poured out after a good swirl. In the palate this is dense, with youthful acidity, black pepper, plums, bramble, earthy notes - still fresh and young, with medium tannins and a long ending with oak in it.
High-quality Australian Shiraz for sure - I had high expectations and this bottle met them all. 2002 is clearly a great vintage for Australia - and I am happy I have 5 more bottles of this beauty. Great now, will continue to develop for a while IMO and while last at least another decade at peak.

Expressive nose with spice, cherries, bramble. Nice acidity, spice, lots of bramble, some plums, very primary; grippy tannins, some oak in the long ending. While still primary and young, it’s very approachable and of the highest quality. Wait 4-5 years and even then, decant for a couple hours. Outstanding.

Garnet color. Nose of mushrooms, cherries, spice. Medium+ acidity, cherries, cocoa beans, long ending with a touch of vanilla. I would not consider it super complex, but it’s very good and refined on the edges. Drinks very well now with one hour decant. Enjoyed at Restaurant Olo in Helsinki with both fish and meat, and went very well with both. I like Spätburgunder wines because they are refined and straightforward. This delivered fully.

Dark ruby in the glass. Interesting nose with mushrooms, dried fruit, cherries. Medium acidity, lots of cherries and some bramble, black currants. Medium tannins already quite resolved, with some spice, dark chocolate, and slight bitterness reminiscent of unripe Olives; and a moderately oaky ending.
This is a very nice wine - elegant, sinuous, fruit-forward and bold but in check. Mostly primary still, and as this was my first Peter Michael I am not sure how this will evolve; it seems a bit muted, although after 2 hours in the decanted it did start opening up.
Very enjoyable by itself, I had it with beef tenderloin and it was a great match. 92 today, 94-95 potential. Will wait 2-3 years to open my second bottle.

Bought at an auction a while back and kept in wine fridge. Very dark in the glass with a bit of cloudiness. Mature nose with leathery notes accompanied by bramble and plums. Vivid acidity still, fresh, lots black fruits all over, leather, forest floor. Semi-integrated tannins, and long ending with warm spice and oak.
Excellent wine - very enjoyable and in a great spot. While mature, this is super fresh and in a great spot right now. My only bottle - but I will seek more!

Believe it or not, this is what American Airlines serves in long haul business class now. Not bad at all, with blackberries, blackcurrants, oak; medium+ tannins, dry. While drinkable, this had those peculiar wood-like undertones that some industrially-produced wines sometimes have.

Ose of plums and black currants, with slight medicinal and eucalyptus. Medium acidity, mineral, very fruit-driven with grilled plums and black currants, grippy tannins, oak. Hedonistic, very pleasurable wine at great QPR. Still tasting fresh and young at 13 years of age.

Expressive nose of black currants, with hints of oak. Medium+ acidity, tons of black currants and some coffe grounds, medium tannins and long ending with some oak which gives elegance to it. Not utterly complex but absolutely delicious in its fruitiness now. This will definitely improve with age, but right now is in a hedonistic, Napa-like phase that will bring you lots of pleasure. I slow ox’ed the bottle for 5 hours.

Deep, dark yellow color with rare bubbles. Nose was not particularly giving, with only hints of yeast and citrus. The palate is much better, with good acidity, nice mousse, toast, some grapefruit, yuzu, some herbal notes to give it a pleasantly bitter taste, and a medium-long ending not pouring with oak. A very good wine, in a good spot right now; the contrast with the Salon 2013 had earlier was stark though, and really made you see the quality of difference.

Garnet in color, with figs, caramel, raisins in the nose. The palate is dense yet not overbearing, with marinated strawberries, figs, black pepper, and a spicy, oaky ending. Very good Tawny Port, elegant yet bold, good by itself or with cheese. It feels quite well integrated, and my only gripe would be that there is a hint of alcohol coming out in the long ending.

Pitch dark in the glass, with a pure nose of black currants, very primary. Nice acidity, medium tannins, the palate is an explosion of black currants with some notes of plums in the background - very precise and fruit driven at this stage. Tannins are not overpowering - a sign of the vintage - and secondary notes of pencil shavings are emerging. The ending is balanced and long, with some cedar wood and a hint of cloves.
Very nice wine in a great spot already. Not sure how much it will improve with cellaring - I honestly think this is just delicious right now - but there is definitely no rush as this will keep (evolving) for at least a decade.

Nice bright yellow color, light bubbles. Very intense nose with butterscotch, yeast, lemon peel. The palate is very elegant, with just the right amount of acidity - I would say medium - nice, refined mousse, brioche, lemon peel, basil too I would say; this is very young still, still primary overall and with full body and white pepper balanced by the nice, oaky ending. The reductive nose is intense, while the palate is absolutely elegant. This will last for 2 decades and will likely improve quite a bit, but it's an outstanding, gorgeous wine already.

This is a blend of Muscat Bailey A - a local Japanese grape - and Merlot. Colo is light red, light garnet.
Palate shows nice acidity, freshness, with the characteristic slightly bitter notes of rhubarb to accompany the nice, bright cherries. Light tannins, and medium+ ending with aromatic woods notes and some spice.
A different wine but that goes well with Japanese cuisine given its light body. I had this on JAL business class on my way to Japan - and I would not hesitate to pour myself some if I found more.

Clean nose with delicate notes of Asian pears and banana crême.
Palate is elegant, dense, with some minerals, white pepper, Bosch pear, custard, then some black pepper and spice on the medium+ ending. A very nice Junmai Daiginjo that shows complex and integrated flavors, with alcohol in check. Powerful yet elegant.

P.S.
- The one I had was the Yamada Daiginjo which might be slightly better than the one here (if they are not the same wines).
