This wine has a deep ruby color. I drank most of it over 2 nights and saved enough for a small glass on the 3rd night. It is highly concentrated with puckering tannins that were very prominent on night one, less prominent on nights 2 and 3. The dark fruit began to appear on night 2 and was more apparent on night 3. The obvious conclusion is that it is not yet ready to drink. I suspect that it will be much better in another year or 2.

Bordeaux blend from South Africa with CS, Merlot and Cab Franc. Medium bodied with a touch of dark fruit on the nose and palate and a hint of licorice on the finish. I suspect that it is at the end or slightly past its drinking interval as I had this wine in a So. African tasting a number of years ago and it was better. I have one more bottle - will drink soon.

Inexpensive Blend from Priorat. Red and black fruit on the nose and palate. Drank in a Restaurant about 2 years ago and the tannins are much softer now and there is a hint of spice on the finish. I have a few more bottles and will drink soon. I don't think this is made for the long haul and it is quite pleasant now.

I enjoyed this full bodied Gigondas with red fruit on the nose and palate. There were additional notes of licorice and herbs on the mid palate and finnish. Drank over 2 nights without much loss of fruit. Sorry I don't have more.

Drank most over 2 nights (1/21 and 1/22) but saved 1 glass for !/23. Very closed on the first 2 nights with basically no nose on the first and minimal nose on the second. The glass saved for the 3rd night showed some dark fruit and spice. The obvious conclusion is that this wine is not ready to drink at this time. Will give the rest of the case at least one and possibly 2 years before opening them.

The wine is evolving with dark fruit and an almost floral note on the nose. The palate is now showing some licorice with soft tannins. These Etna wines are an interesting change of pace from the Sangiovese wine I love.

When opened it was totally closed. After decanting for about an hour it opened up with some dark fruit, earth and tobacco on the nose and palate. Left enough in the bottle for glass the next day and the fruit was much more prominent and the tannins much smoother. On the 1st night I would have rated it 89-90 but the next day it was great.

Had with Thanksgiving dinner (turkey) and was a wonderful match. Made in a dry and elegant style with stone fruit on the nose and palate and mineral/slate on the mid palate and finnish.

The nose is very complex with both red and black fruit as well as cassis and a touch of licorice. The palate is still powerful with similar notes of fruit and a touch of leather. The tannins are plush and the finish is long.This is a spectacular wine but alas it was my last bottle.
