Properly cellared this wine has developed into a very pleasing rose’. Pleasant fruit, nice acidity to put it into balance. My only negative comment would be a little light on the finish. I see no signs of a downward spiral on this bottle. Giving a few of the other reviews the benefit of the doubt I would think either they had bottles that were improperly stored or the wine hadn’t developed properly yet. If not the case, I don’t know what the heck they were drinking because this bottle didn’t come anywhere remotely close to what they described. Made me shake my head. 50 points was just flat out ridiculous.

Holy smoke! For the age of this wine it is really incredible showing no signs of decline. Blind I never would've guessed this wine being 8+ years old. Beautiful balance between acid and fruit. It keeps me wanting more.

A great QPR! Very well balanced and true to the varietal.

This wine at this stage of its evolution is coming across as a bit pruny and extremely ripe without being hot. Did not show well when drank next to a 2016 Sineann Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon which was much better balanced and more true to the varietal. This may be a case of where this wine is at today. My notes were agreed with by another taster about the dried fruit character.

Very nice. Not over the hill at all. Probably need to drink now before fruit fades but still impressive nonetheless.

Just excellent. Wasn’t expecting this. Awesome QPR and this wine was nowhere near fading. Great surprise!

This wine has notes that come off as slightly oxidized or nutty. I don’t know if I have a couple bad bottles but everyone I’ve drank this with has agreed with my assessment of slightly oxidized and calling it just OK. In the past we’ve raved over Rollin’s Argyle Extended Tirage which always seemed fresh with bread and yeast notes and never tasted old.

Jammy dark berries on the nose. Concentrated blackberries and ripe dark plums and noticeable tannins on my palette with a nicely balanced dose of acidity in the finish.

This wine has the Papera profile of concentrated dark berries and an almost mouthwatering acidity. The nose is almost hypnotic as I could’ve sat and just smelled this wine with its aromas of Marionberry, Huckleberry and ripe dark plums. Impressive for it’s age as it still drinks very young.

Reading previous reviews I was wondering what we were in for. My wife and I were both floored by this wine. It was Perfectly cellared at 53 degrees since release. I believe we opened it at the perfect time. Silky smooth tannins, fruit is still there, pie cherry and tart blueberry all balanced by a nice acidity, I can’t imagine this wine showing any better. It was such a joy to drink we drank the whole bottle. After each drinking a glass we paired it with Wagyu Ribeye and Chimichuri. Wonderful. If you have any of this left I would suggest drinking now. I believe it is only going to go downhill from here.

This wine, I believe, has the potential to be a great wine given much more time in cellar. There is great upside here. My score is based on what I experienced today. The nose had some of that raw meat character nuanced in the background with black pepper being the first thing that jumped out at me. Plenty of acidity on the palate with some high toned blue and red fruits and chalky tannins. Given time, all of this will probably meld into one amazing drinking experience. If you only have one bottle, do yourself and the wine a favor and be patient. I personally would revisit in about 5-7 years or more.

This wine is in a great place right now. Dark, wonderful fruit with nice acidity to balance it. Reminds me of the old Michael Browne Kosta Browne Pinots. This was a joy to drink.

91 day of opening. The next day the tannins felt more integrated and smoother thus another point. Seems like it has better days in it’s future.

This was the only wine I tasted at the tasting room that caught my attention. It was the best Virginia wine I tasted on our trip. Bought a bottle to bring home. Drank it cold out of the fridge and it surprised me that even though cold the aromas weren’t muted. Very floral nose. The second surprise was the depth of flavor cold. Slightly off dry, juicy and mouth watering. As it warmed it was still very good but I found my preference was for the wine to be chilled. Very enjoyable and would make a nice chilled deck wine.

Opened and decanted for 3.5 hours. Had at a Holiday meal and all guests chose this over a Reynvaan Bordeaux blend that garnered a 94 point Wine Spectator score. This wine had fresh fruit, refined tannins, and more concentration than the other wine. Just an all around more pleasurable drinking experience.

Didn’t have the yeast and bread notes you expect from a late disgorgement. We actually like the regular release RMS wines better.

Dry Riesling. Had another from a past vintage that was off dry that was amazing. After drinking 2 German Spatlese and 2 off dry Trisaetum Rieslings this wine was a huge letdown to our whole group. Had bitter notes and was not well received.

One of the finest Grenache wines I have drank. Perfect balance of fruit, acid and savory notes including just a hint of black pepper spice just as you might like on perfectly seasoned food. Brought to a restaurant and the other couple had never had Grenache before. Everyone was “Wowed” by this wine.

This wine is still young and lively. In a great spot right now, but I certainly wouldn’t be worried about consuming any unopened bottles right now. Aging like a wine from Grand Cru vineyard would.

Starting to show notes of nuttiness and a touch of oxidation from age. Some people enjoy this progression of age but not me. Wine was perfectly cellared at 53 degrees

Jamie Kutch did it again Another wine upon release that was OK in my book and lacked a little ripe fruit and was mostly tart fruit, but 10 years later, “HOLY COW!” Cherries here and cherries there. Did I add I really tasted Cherries? What phenomenal development. It even got better the next day which is a sign there’s more age ability in this wine. Congratulations Jamie.

I think the Brugnon N. V. is a better wine. That said, this is an excellent value.

Lovely and lively citrus notes. Very refreshing. Once opened found it needed to be drank that day since a bouchon doesn't work on the bottle.

Calera Pinots just seem to age so gracefully and are long lived judging from the older bottles I've drank. I would never be afraid to age a Calera Pinot Noir and this one I believe is no exception.

Holy smokes! Did this wine ever surprise me and age beautifully. It blossomed into a wine with a lot of fruit and complexity for it's age. I was expecting a wine probably on the downside but this was anything but that. This wine seems to have a whole lot of life left in it!
