This is our second bottle of 3. I was lucky to find them in a wine auction. Realizing that they might very well be destroyed after 51 years of storing, we were very excited at our first taste.
The bottle filling was quite good in spite of a very short cork.
Colour: Brick-red all trough. Smell: tobacco, leather, liquorice, honey or bee-wax. In the mouth: Still fruit, a soft pleasant acidity, soft rounded tannins, long almost everlasting taste. It matched the lamb meat very well.
Today after tasting the second bottle, with the same result, we look forwards to a last meeting with this outstanding ancient wine.
