2007 Colleluce Vernaccia di Serrapetrona Dolce Vernaccia di Serrapetrona DOCG Vernaccia Nera, Grenache (view label images)
A rather unusual wine. Vernaccia Nera (Grenache) in a sweet frizzante wine from Sardinia, now 17 years old. It was only slightly frizzante, at most moderately sweet, had some soft tannins, and all in all, quite an interesting mouthful of wine.
Red
Passover, and well-liked. Restrained and Burg-like at this stage, though certainly Gamay.
Red
Very nice, as always. Drink or hold.
Red
Good and I'd judge mature. Already softened some by the 20% Vespolina, and at this point speaks to Nebbiolo without any rough edges.
White
My last bottle of this vintage and still drinking very well, like a mid maturity high class Vouvray. Age has brought a sense of sweetness (though it's a Sec) that adds to the package.

from 375. I've had lots of good bottles from 750. The (small) cork was soft, but not TCA and not overtly oxidized. That said, it was leaner and less good than I expected.
Red
Good. Time to drink for this cuvee.

I'm a fan of this producer, so thought I'd try the high end, oaked version. Not surprisingly for my taste, I like this less well than the regular old vines cuvee. It's quite ripe, and quite oaked. Good acidity, in the mold of Sauv Blanc but different profile. This cuvee speaks more to me of California than Spain, though certainly worth drinking.

Cornas and Cassoulet dinner. A ringer with some great Cornas. Easy to pick out in a blind flight. Gorgeous wine. Still young.
White
Cornas and Cassoulet dinner. A very good bottle. Excellent with a delicious fish/scallop ceviche.
Red
A well-behaved Gigondas. Good, but a little more wildness would have been nice.
Red
At St Botolph's dinner. A mini horizontal with a 1991 Mondavi Reserve and mini vertical with a 2002 Dominos, as well as 1989 and 2000 Leoville Barton. Not blind, but the two Dominus had the same plush feel in the mouth that made them quite different from the other wines. The 2002 unsurprisingly had fresher fruit and was my preference of the California wines, but I was pleased with how my 1991 showed.

A rather elegant, even gentle Bourgueil. Tannin mainly resolved. I don't know if the Neocork made it more advanced than it would have been, but this my only bottle was drinking very well. The texture was downright Burgundian. The pretty palate had a whiff of flowers towards the end.

I bought a couple of bottles of this on release but hadn’t tasted it yet, >20 years hence. Really liked it. Tannins mostly resolved. Great acidity. Plenty of fruit, closest I can come is blackberry.

I really like this. Mildly cloudy. Lovely fruit, featuring gentle peach which makes nose a bit sweet though wine is dry. Good balance. Refreshing. Nice with simple panko-coated cod loin.

From 375. Dark color. American oak and sweet fruit on the nose. In this format, it's drinking well. Still tannin that stood up well to pan seared rib cap. For me the oak at this point is a pleasurable (dare I say hedonistic) component complementing the (dare I say hedonistic) fruit. Excellent balance. Not the style of wine I usually drink, but excellent with the steak, and (dare I say) I should drink more like this.

Tet. Dry. Incredible Riesling nose, and marvelous intensity on the palate. Great wine.

Tet. From 500ml. Quite sweet of course, and delicious. Palate could be more complex and perhaps that will come with more time. Certainly can give the remaining bottles a few years.
Red
Tet. Lovely nose, and a treat but still a little young.

Last of my bottles. Minimal funk. Drinking well (earlier maturity than 2009 was consistent).

Noah's Kitchen. Not as dry as I somehow expected it to be (just off-dry), in part because it is so rich and deep. Liked it very much.
White - Off-dry
Noah's Kitchen. First after dinner wine. Delicious, seamless, impeccable balance. Drink or hold.

Nose of a mature Barolo. Plenty of fruit left. Quite nice.

My last bottle of a case, matched with Tenderloin of beef with Port reduction, was really good and classic Cote-Rotie. Wish I had more.

Xmas dinner with K&G&B. Decanted about two hours. Wonderful nose that screams NRhone Syrah. Drinking extremely well. Thanks Trung.
White - Sparkling
Purchased 12/21. Xmas dinner w K&G&B. Nice. Shows its Pinot Noir with some earthiness.
Red - Fortified
Drinks very well and being tawny, quite durable after opening.

With Barbara Xmas eve. Decanted about two hours. Pale Burgundy. Lovely nose. Palate with depth of fruit, good acid balance. Very good, drinkable and enjoyable, will plan another in 2-3 years.

needed a lot of shaking to ameliorate reduction (screwcap), Then quite attractive. Nose of Germany but palate not Riesling. Good but not a rebuy.

With Paul Welch. Purchase 1973, my last bottle of the case. Low neck fill. Color was amazing for a wine of this age, and would have guessed 1990 or older based on that. The nose had a little bit of dark fruit, a touch of soy, but was muted. There was fruit left on the palate, which was somewhat lean. Acidity provided structure and tannin was resolved.
All in all, certainly on the downslope, but more than worthwhile.

Noah's Kitchen. A little tired compared to my penultimate bottle 3 years ago.
White - Sweet/Dessert
Noah's Kitchen. Quite sweet, appropriately. Very attractive palate though not as complex as I might have hoped. Certainly good.
Rosé
Interesting in that it was both oxidized and fresh, but I really didn't like it and neither did anybody else at Noah's

Certainly good, but bottles the past two years have lacked the deliciousness of two years ago. This vintage, and probably all are likely best young.

Still really nice. Funk just right, not too much even a couple of days later.

Very nice, if not remarkable wine. Serviceable though served too cold with Scampi on pasta, and after a few days in the fridge the leftover was a more impressive match with airfryer panko Haddock fillet. Mineral, fruit, acidity; has it all.

Lovely fruit and balance. though it lacks the complexity of nose and palate of the best Burgundy it's the real thing. Drink or hold.

I really like this. The pronounced citrus acidity adds zest to the red fruit. Went very well at the Thanksgiving table and held up well for days.
White - Off-dry
Not great, but definitely good, sweetness at a good level for family. probably no rush to drink.
Red
Tasted at store. Acidic bordering on sour. Initial impression is very nice citrus, then red fruit, then mostly the acid structure. Not for every situation or every person, for sure, but very refreshing and might be good slightly chilled with cheeses. Might be nice with rich seafood.
White - Off-dry
Purchased in Zeltingen years ago. Really very nice. Not the intensity or botrytis I might have expected from a two star, but really very nice, with good balance and considerable elegance. Drinking well.

Peach Farm. I'd never had an orange gewurz, and I thought it was very interesting. Not so orange that the gewurz lychee nose was suppressed or covered over, resulting in a multidimensional wine. I think others liked it less than I.
Red
Peach Farm. This was my last bottle. Still quite a lot of tannin. However, while certainly appreciated by those present, I think it was better younger when the fruit was more ebullient and the Sagrantino character was more in your face.

Norton for Martha. Delightful and luscious but relatively simple at this young stage.

in Norton. I thought a 2020 bottle was entering drinking window, but this, while enjoyable, was still too young with two much American oak sticking out. Good balance, plenty of fruit. Next in another 2-3 years?

Healthy color. Certainly in full maturity but well worth drinking. This was never an excellent or (relatively) high acid/mineral vintage and now course it has a rounder profile. A good match for panko air fried cod, and enjoyed as leftovers with a vegetable stir fry.
