Red
Stunner. What burgundy should taste like. In a lineup for La Tache and RC this was the best of the bunch on the night. Touch of barnyard on the nose which blew off mostly about an hour in. Still has the trademark Leroy ripeness (especially in 09) but so much depth and elegance here. Great texture. Drink now and over the next 10-15 years. 19.
Red
Not much to say other than the obvious…. The finest expression of red fruit, texture and delicacy in the world. If you’re lucky enough to taste the finesse of the greatest Pinot in the world, savor the moment. Though highly enjoyable, opening this at this point felt a bit like slaughtering a baby, but will be useful when tasting this again years from now. The vintage will be highly sought after for quite some time. If you have the means and access I suggest buying, though pricing increasingly becoming atrocious. 19.5++

Red
Gorgeous cherry and liquorice on the nose. Good structure here. Deep red in color. If served blind would have guessed much younger than 93. A very good showing here, but be curious to revisit in 5 years. Perfect combo with any red wine based meet sauce. 18/20

Very pretty wine. In an excellent place right now. Like most Raveneau improved massively 1hr after being opened. Texturally superb wine with very food friendly acid and balance. Cant see this improving. Drink up. 17.5

What you’d expect. Tannins are gone but still lot of fruit and acid. Good showing. Color was excellent. Bit of funk at the beginning but blew off. 17/20

2007 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Chardonnay (view label images)
Decanted for one hour prior to drinking. Pear, citrus and floral aromas. On the palate it is very beautiful -- stony & elegant with a bone dry finish and lingering minerality. I would however note, it is lacking the richness and concentration that one would typically expect from this GC. Still, very good wine that is probably at or nearing its peak. Drink now and over the next 5-8 years. 17.5

Really beautiful wine. Whole cluster and it comes through. Power and earthiness with red cherry. Volcanic soils also certainly come across and give the wine a bit of a dusty quality which I personally enjoyed. Wine likely has a few years remaining, but can confirm it is superb now. 17/20

Solid wine. Vines are in the village of Meursault and that is apparent in the finish. Clean and fresh with some zip. 15.5

Good wine. Second day it really came alive. Initially mostly just ripe red fruit (overwhlemingly cherry), but then began to show some earth and spice day two. Very early for this wine, but seemingly promising. I'd love to revisit in 5-7 years. 16+

Pale yellow. Fruit driven (peach and apple mostly) with hints of vanilla. Linear. Round and positively california. 15.5

Very light color, with an odd sour apple note on the nose. Wine seems a bit disjointed. Not sure what is going on here. Typically these wines are optimal in 5-8 years for warm and 10-12 for cool. Will try again in a different vintage (perhaps another warm year like 2015 along with 16 which had a cooler end to the growing season). 15.5

2013 Dalla Valle Collina Oakville Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Nice wine. Smoky. Dark fruit. Leather. Tobacco. Perhaps a bit one dimensional. Grippy tannins wrap around the sides of your mouth initially. Tannins become more well integrated after about 2hrs. 16.5

Rich, creamy with some oxidative notes. Wonderful complexity! Very long finish with great hints of almond. 17.5+

Beautiful as always. Agree that this is a bit more structured than in years past. Waxy. Great acidity. Drank most of the bottle the second day it was opened with paella (perfect combo). For those with multiple bottles I recommend waiting at least another five years for their next try. Will age for 1.5 decades+. I am firmly addicted to the Lopez whites. 17.5

Tasted alongside the Envinate Taganan. Certainly more restrained. Pear and lemon on the nose. Wonderful brightness, with a very long mineral driven finish. 1st bottle. Will try again in 3-5 years. 16.5+

2017 Envinate Taganan Tacoronte-Acentejo White Blend (view label images)
Iteresting. First for me from this producer. Very waxy and nutty. Lots of tangerine and orange. Very good mineral driven wine, albeit not for everyone. 16.5+

1st bottle. Decanted for one hour prior to drinking. Beautifully crisp. Great lemon notes on the palate and beautifuly acidity. After two hours really started to blossom and show its very long stony, mineral driven finish. Leave for at least 5-7 years. 17+
