Nice. And for 27 euros no brainer. Salt, good acidity and lots of complexity here. Of course very young, but after 4 hrs decant almost ok to drink if you have to. Better to wait 3-4 years. Should be well into 93-94 territory then. Surely can go 15-20 years, giving its 5-7 times more expensive 21s sisters a good run for the money.

Dinner at HMM From Memory. Pretty amazing Rioja in a great place now. Full bodied, fruit very youthful, goes on forever. Lots of time ahead

Found another bottle! PNP coravin. Thoroughly enjoyable, dense, moderately fat, good salinity and minerality, hardly any feeling of wood. Wonderful Chardonnay

Even after 3 days in an open bottle ( we didn’t finish about 1/4) it is still too green. If I have any bottles - leave them till 2027 or so. Plenty of other GGs from 2017-19 in the cellar that can be drunk now…

Even better 3 years after last tasting more body, but still lovely salinity and acidity in the background.

3 hrs decant. Sweet and jammy. All about fruit. Marmalade, but with some tannin grip. Nice.

Chris’s 12 brunello is a bit more elegant

Still not quite ready. Has a wonderful elegance, sort of dances in your mouth. As bosconias need 20 years to mature, these seem to require 25. open end after that for both. Hope I am alive to enjoy:):(

Increasing to 93 after 45 min in the Glas. 2 hr decant and this is good to go.

Moved on from these kind of wines - too south Rhône for me. Still a very pleasant wine CdP / Priorat style.

Threw me off a bit, until I realized that this classifies as semisweet. 7 hrs open bottle in the fridge. Still strongish petrol nose, otherwise would have been 93. Rich and a bit salty on the palette, acid on the background. My only bottle, sadly, but will get better with time. My personal experience is that these GGs should either be drunk soon after release or a decade later.

From ,375 bottle. Science experiment. But not bad. Doesn’t need much decant. Honey and chocolate. Actually quiet nice.

Too much acidity. Even after 24 hrs. A note to myself, leave 2010-11 alone for 4-6 years. Try to find rest of 2005 and drink those. This thing can go forever in my view. Just give them 20+- years after vintage.

Not as excited as a year ago, but still very good Chardonnay. Doesn’t seem to have changed that much. No clue how these age. I think the lower score is just a function of lots more great chardonnays over the course of last 10 months or so. Tonight with matjes and boiled potatoes

Delicious! Entered its best phase. Still nice acidity, lots of fruit, barnyard. For me textbook.

I suppose you could say that this is past peak. I see it in its gentle tretiary plateau. Oak is a bit too prominent for me - hence a point less. Tannins and acidity still there. Totally acceptable aged CdP.

Same bottle as a year ago. Coravined for one glass and then one year with seeping bad cork. Still the same wine (amazing Mr coravin!), but I gave it two points more. Will have it tonight for stinky cheese and it is perfect for that.

Possibly with some breathing even better.

Dinner at bogenhausener hof last night. Elegant and light in a good sense. Hits all the st Julien registers. Possibly at peak plateau now.

Can’t believe I paid 25 euros for this and thought I bought too many. Pure elegance, great acidity combined with wonderful complexity of fruit. Then some nice barnyard on the background. Wonder if this will get even better once reaching tretiary stage.

Getting there. Not the most expressive of pomerols, but very good base of fruit and midlevel acidity. Needs maybe 2/3 years to start peaking.

Still 91, but better than last time. 1 hr decant. Sweet feminine style. More barbaresco. Acidity still present, but moving to background. Wouldn’t stand up to strong food like steak with garlic souce. We have it with Marulo pasta with onion olives anchovies sauce.

Starts Resiny and chewy. A bit of a Kompott. But gets much better with air. Sweetish good brunello level. Funny last time I tasted CS which isn’t there. Maybe it’s the food. Needs 3 hrs decant or another 3-4 years. Really very good for its QPR.

Only 1,5 hr decant. I recorked half bottle to see what happens tomorrow. This is already very good. Sweet, very slight barnyard, fully integrated and well in its tertiary journey, probably a long one. As usual a treat.

Takes the direction of a good level pomerol for me. High alcohol level 15.5%. A point less for heat. Will integrate with time and move to 93, maybe even more. Good stuff for 36 euros.

PnP. Seems to get even better than 3 years ago. Acidity well integrated, dark thick and chewy wine. Kirsch and dry tomatoes. Eucalyptus. Almost pushing 93 maybe with some air.

Challenges an opinion of an experienced brunello drinker here, that simple brunellos reach their peak after 10 years and should be drank soon after that. And this is from a so so vintage!

Don’t feel this is over the hill. Nice acidity to keep this going for a few years more. Well/ integrated and balanced. Not heavy inspite of 14,5% alcohol. No longer my style wine, but once in a while, why not?

Absolutely fine for what it is. At the price I paid, would buy cases of it. Color is almost saignee. Refreshing little bubbly with no faults.

Enjoying my last bottle of this. My feeling is that it’s starting a slow decline. It hasn’t been made since the early 2000s. Ok for me. Nice try, but too much effort into a grape not really deserving it IMO. Still kudos for trying! 91-92.

Tonight with dönner box:))

Got it at ridiculous price. This is absolutely ok also at normal good QPR price. Well balanced nice background acidity. Very pleasing slightly yeasty nose. Good length.

I had their grand cru several years ago. I like this better.

Acidity a bit too pronounced. Needs more time to balance. On the other hand good precision. Bone dry. Might get better with a few years. But for this level good QPR and absolutely ok for parties.

Increasing to 91 open after a day in the fridge. Next time open it. Let it breathe for 30 min. Close and refrigerate for a day. Should get better after 2-3 years. Great price:)

TN trajectory here seems to indicate it’s getting better now in 15th year of age. My feeling too. More round, more full, some balsam and super gentle. As good as most C9Ps I drank. Good stuff and probably on its peak plateau now. Were I a dedicated southern Rhone drinker, I would give it a 93, but I am not. Still, respect.

It’s going down. Should have drank it 2 years ago. Still enjoyable, but not at its peak anymore. Acidity is low - some oxidation. Old chard. Was great at peak.

Increasing my score on day two. Got better. Acidity is coming through, no fat. Oxidation wiff gone. Burgundian. Still, drink now.

PnP- and its WOW again. Yes too young, but what a wine! 93+ now, but 94-5 in 3-4 years. You have to really like CR, though. Very specific. Stink, barnyard, sauerkraut (!). Not for faint of hearts.

Really a beautiful white Bordeaux- very floral and in your face. Something different from my usual burgundy whites. I wonder how much distance this has from the grand vin.

PS Jan 6,2024
Same bottle after almost two weeks of being Coravined for a few days and then open, staying in the fridge. Still quite a lot here. Should keep for a good 8-10 years.

1-2 points more for great QPR. IN 5-10 years this will be great even though it punches way over its 14-15 euro weight already now. Just honest good Rioja with wonderful life ahead of it. The distance to bosconia and even to tondonia is getting ever smaller. In good years buy by case(s) and let it develop for another decade.

Wow! So glad I have quite a few of these! It’s already on an excellent level, but clearly keeps going. Still a structure of acidity and tannins to take it to 94+ in a few years. Wonderful.

PnP coravin. Excellent. Not as dry as I remember it, and so not in the Musar or Tondonia vein. If anything, it reminds me of a fully mature 30 year old high end Riesling. Delicious and probably deserving an even higher score after airation or more years.

Way too young. After 3 hr decant, I can’t really judge it. 2027 as a start sounds about right.

In the hour 3 of air this begins to make more sense. I don’t have a big experience with high end Bordeaux, but this vaguely reminds me of 2009 Figeac we had at Gibsons in Chicago in 2012. That was an infanticide:). Anyway, my German retailer and his Swiss sidekick both gave it highest points 100 and 20 respectively. Will see. Now 91 max, so better not rate and wait 4-5 years.

I am more in line with WE rating. The wine is not thin, has lovely nose and longish finish. Still gripping tannins and Front acidity reduce the rating from probably 92-3 when all is integrated to 91+. 13% alcohol is a welcome side feature. This is going to be lovely in 2-3 years

After opened half a bottle spent a week in the fridge, it is 91. Clearly needs at least 5-7 years to integrate fully. Good stuff, but you need patience.
