Vinturied into decant and consumed over several hours.
Powerful SRHs aromatics, lovely bouquet of funk along with solid earthy notes, terrific.
I tried this a few months ago at the winery, and don’t remember the aromatics and funk being so dominant-did not purchase.
Certainly too young now..2 years from now this will be in a beautiful spot, if you can wait!
Note, This really popped after 3+ hours.
Hold…drink 2025/9

Drank this right after the 2020 Mary Edwards RR pino, no comparison really,
This is a classic built wine, hitting all the right notes from color, nose, mouthfeel to finish etc el.
A bargain for $25 compared to the MEs @ @69…see notes.
Rebuy and drink now.

More approachable than the 21, less in your face lemon grass etc.
That said it was great with food.

PnP,
Darker in color, seemly over worked, cola notes with more tension than usual mid to finish.
Way to young at this point and certainly over priced.
Not a rebuy.
Hold, drink 2024/5-8

Decanted ..
Wow, this has really gelled in the past year.
Getting close to full intergration oak/tannins/fruit, concentrated dark fruit that melts the finish.
Hold another year if you can..
Drink now thru 2028

Wow, amazingly good for a young colt, seemly integrated, balanced, just a slight bit of tension on the finish.
This will only get better if you can keep your hands off it.
Drink now thru 2029

Big fan of this blend, well rounded, med acidity along with a good mouthfeel, delicious.
Pairs well with scallops, lobster bisque etc etc.

PNP, deep berrie fruit along with a over powering cola dimension that I couldn’t get past, seemingly heavy handed over worked juice here. On the up side it did have some nice funk on the nose, go figure..
More on the crowd pleaser side than a true Pinot wine.
Not my cup of pino..

Simple decant, open for several hours.
Past prime by 2-4 years.
Still wonderful in its own realm, fading fruit with softened tannis.
Absolutely drink now.

Decanted,
Nose and color fairly compelling, not much past that, thin and acidic to the end.
Dessert didn’t save this either, pretty rough go here.
Not a rebuy.
Drink…2027?

Full decant with venturing, consumed over 3 hours.
Seemingly simple at this point, not much of the usual funk that you’d expect from this producer, no sense of place.
That said, mid life with some slight bricking, opulent fruit thru the middle and waning tannis into the finish.
I might let the next btl sit open longer before pouncing on it.
Drink now thru 2025

Day one, subtle fruit, bright ruby, funk, earthy, closed down mid to end.
Day 2, the dirt and funk becomes upfront on the nose, still firm in the mid to end.
2016 was a cooler vintage, thus the closed firm finish..not normal for this wine.
Age will help.
I’d hold it, drink 2024-7

The Grenache is certainly in play here for the blended amount. 66/33 Syrah/Grenache

Beautiful nose (92), expressive blk olive notes, ripe and earthy..that said, it was lacking depth and the backbone you’d expect from a
aged Syrah(88).
Surprisingly young actually, zero signs of age.

Vinturied into decant, tuff one to pin down.
Ballard canyon funk all over the nose and color, from there it became loose and somewhat disjointed..acidic and unbalanced.
It work with food but became tedious after that.

I personally will hold my 2 btls for a couple more years.
