Pretty garnet color. Exuberant floral nose, with leathery and herbal undertones. Red and black fruit on the palate, oak is fully integrated. Sour cherry and pomegranate. Mushrooms, forest floor, and a hint of cigar box. Bracing acidity, and subtle tannins. Elegant and balanced. PnP, decanted for sediment only. Perfect cork. Best on day one.

Library release. Considerable amount of fine sediment, careful decanting suggested. Perfect cork, minor penetration only. Garnet color, slight bricking at the rim. A reticent nose, classic Pinot Noir aroma. Savory, cherry on the palate, forest floor, mushrooms, a little leather and spice. Medium acidity, and smooth tannins are well integrated.

Disgorged Jan 2020, ready to drink. Pretty color, just a hint of salmon. Strawberry on the nose and palate. Slight hazelnut undertone. Bright, impeccably balanced. Creamy mouthfeel, great structure. Makes a perfect aperitif by itself, or goes well with cheese or a little bit of Goose Foie Gras.

This is drinking exceptionally well right now. Spice on the nose, red fruit and herbs on the palate. Medium bodied, good acidity, robust tannins that mellowed after a couple of hours - still life left.
Beautiful showing of a mature, classically styled Pinot Noir. Pretty garnet color, slight bricking at the rim. Bottle funk at first, which blew off within 15 min. A somewhat reduced nose remained until day two. Apart from that, forest floor, a little leather and spice. Savory, cherry on the palate, bright acidity brings liveliness. The smooth tannins are less prominent, but still present. Cork was in perfect shape, only minor penetration. Considerable amount of fine sediment, definitely needs careful decanting.
In formidable shape, wrapping up its third decade. The nose is striking. Smooth on the palate, tannins resolved, tertiary characteristics. Still enough fruit and acidity to keep it fresh. Cork was impeccable. Double decanted, modest amount of sediment. Winemaker’s comments: 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, Bates’ Ranch. Dusty, earthy, aromatic cedar, berry bouquet. Elegant, rich, bright fruit flavor balanced with soft tannins. Unfined and unfiltered. 774 cases produced. Bottled November, 1993
