1984 Marney - Sorelles Bâtard-Montrachet Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Chardonnay
Very dark color. Maintained in a temp controlled cellar, but alas, the wine is over the hill and might be drinkable if you are really thirsty; otherwise, no one could tolerate it.

Wow. This was one terrific wine. Robust but not overwhelming. The complex flavors develop in the mouth, and there is a n ice lingering finish. Wish I had more.

The wine looks garnet colored and full bodied with balanced acidity. There was no sediment. The wine has an earthiness forward with dark fruits following. is The wine finishes medium.

Delightful California cab, perfect with rack of lamb. Took a while for 1.5 bottle to open up, but when it did, there was a complex wine with fruit, depth and balance

Took a while to open up, but it did open and was a delightful accompaniment to a lamb shank. Complex, both fruit and earth tones.

The wine was a dark, rich, deep red. Full bodied, yet balanced. Dark fruits and earthy elements. The legs are medium. There is heavy sediment in the bottle. I

Opened a jerobom for a dinner for 9, where the main course was pork loin. The wine was a little thin and not showing much fruit.

This is not a "big" wine, but it is very well balanced and drinkable now. Relatively low in alcohol - 13.8%. Four of us enjoyed two bottles with a tapas dinner. Perhaps it will develop more complexity, but for now it is very straightforward.

Ruby red, medium legs, and medium finish. Austere wine, perhaps a little too tannic. Fruit is in the background, but overall experience was very pleasing.

The wine is garnet colored. There was no sediment in the bottle. The fruit is subdued and the body is medium. Overall, a solid burgundy but not the depth and character one would hope for.

This pricy corton-charlemagne never quite lives up to our expectations. Still, it is a complex wine with many enjoyable characteristics, but it is not the zinger one would expect from a grand cru.

Alas, I think the Margaux was either too old or not kept properly in the early part of its life. Still very drinkable with depth and character, but the fruit and sparkle was faint.

Excellent. a perfect example of Montrachet. Approaches Le Montrachet. Drinking well now but obviously has legs. Will save the rest of the case for a time.
