Grapes: 65% Gre, 15% Mou, 15% Syr, 5% others. Color: cherry red, pale, normal evolution. Nose: red fruit, floral, some alcohol, spices. Mouth: dark fruits, full body - excellent depth and concentration. Finishes with black sweet fruity finish, still tannic! Big, bold and alcoholic - what is not to like? Blockbuster wine - still young. 94 pt.

OK champagne, acidity is overpowering and yes I know what extra brut means :-) Not a rebuy. 89 pt.

Nose: dark fruits (cassis), massive smoke (oak), some black pepper. Taste: massive oak again (smoke), dark fruits, perfect acidity, medium- body, heavy oak tannins and medium- finish. Served blind this screams South-Africa for me. Not a balanced wine (oak overpowered in nose and taste), will not get better but nevertheless because of the excellent freshness (acidity) I actually enjoyed this. Massive sediment - drink now. 90 pt.

Nose: perfumed ripe dark fruits, oak, spices (pepper, eucalyptus!), some alcohol. Mouth: dark ripe fruits, warm climat, good acidity but unpleasant tannic (green - somewhat chemical) finish with sweet dark fruits. Medium body, medium finish - but due to the tannins out of balance. Good QPR but not a rebuy for me. Somewhat disappointed since I've had "the dead arm 2013" and "the galvo garage 2004" which were stunning - 87 pt.

I was in the mood for a 55 year old wine. Unfortunately seepage, low fill and raised cork that I could remove in one piece with my bare hands. Very brown color and cloudy wine. Smelled like sherry with nutty aromas. Taste very acidic, nothing left - not very pleasant. I suspect heat damage... One bottle left, in better condition.

Luxury cuvee from Cave De Tain - picked from old wines from the vineyards l’Hermite and le Méal - 19 months in new French oak. Nose: oaky, dark fruits, spices, chocolate, some leather, very complex! Mouth: all dark fruits followed by perfect acidity and finishes with sweet dark fruit and some serious tannins. Excellent structure and very long finish, 20+ seconds. Too young, will be better in a few years - needs some time to balance the oak and the tannins. Blockbuster wine - somewhat overpriced. 95 pt.

Color: still very purple, little evolution. Nose: like walking into a horse stable - insane. Also all dark fruits, some floral notes, spices, some oak. Mouth: a fruit-bomb, like biting into a handful of dark fruits, very juicy and fresh. Medium- body, medium acidity, medium+ tannins, long tannic finish - quite elegant. Very young but not too young. So easy and lovely to drink. Good future ahead - 91 pt.

Mouth: spices, red fruits, dried flowers, medium+ body, medium acidity, some oak tannins, long finish. Structured and high quality wine. Will last another decade. 92 pt.

Mouth: dark fruits, incredible acidity, integrated tannins, very long finish with ripe dark fruits and some earth. Impeccable balance - everything is in the right place. Vintage 2004, perhaps the best Alion ever made. 96 pt.

Nose: very aromatic with mainly red but also dark fruits, garrigue, leather, lavender, spices. Mouth: fruit bomb (red and dark), full bodied, perfect acidity, great structure, multi-layered, fully integrated tannins with a very long finish. A very elegant, silky almost Burgundy-style wine. Brilliant! 95 pt.

Color: very pale, brown - nebbiolo color. Nose: rose petals, tar, dried flowers, leather, red fruits (cherries), oak and some earthy dust - very nice. Blind it is very nebbiolo like. Mouth: red dried fruits, high acidity, medium+ body, high tannins with a dusty earthy taste and a long tannic/earthy finish with a caramel touch. I love it because of the mouthwatering acidity - still very fresh and complex. Excellent example of an aged Etna wine - 93 pt.

Zalto Universal glass @ 18 deg. C. Color: cherry red with some evolution. Nose: complex nose of tobacco, some oak, leather, floral (lavender and violets), notes of forest floor, pepper, minerality (graphite, some charcoal) and of course rich fruits (mainly black). No bell pepper !! Mouth: lots of red and black fruits, earthy and mineral - cool climate taste, layered, perfect acidity, very elegant, medium body, medium+ finish, integrated tannins. Not a power wine but I love the weightlessness, finesse and structure in this wine. This will last another decade - at least. Just excellent. 93 pt.

Color: quite dark inky purple. Nose: very perfumed with all dark fruits (plum, blackberry, blueberry), oak, some spices. Mouth: dark fruits again, very good acidity, medium bodied, good mouthfeel, fine but present tannins and a medium+ finish (7 sec). Balanced and elegant wine. Not jammy at all, actually very good and modern and at this price an incredible QPR. Fruit forward wine for the moment but will easily hold until 2024. Back up the truck, a screaming buy!!!

Only 14% alcohol for a vintage that was hotter than a blast furnace :-) Excellent mature cdnp, drink now. 94 pt.

Whaaaa - this wine needs many hours to really blossom. Color: inky purple - very young. Nose: alcohol, deep black cherry, violets, spice, minerality. Mouth: earthy, dark fruits, medium+ acidity, medium- bodied, tannic finish. Excellent if you like the style/grape. Conclusion: too young - who says dolcetto can't age ??? :-) Another hit from Maria Teresa Mascarello.
