Hawk and Horse Cabernet Sauvignon- floral elegant, cigar box/ ashes nose. Dry end , fruit mid pallets and balanced tanning. Long finish. Solid wine overall. I still think it can get softer though. 8/10
Red
Noviello Cabernet Sauvignon 2016- closed nose for me. Dry, somewhat arrowing tannins that soften next day. Fruity mid palate and moderate dry Finnish. 7.5/10

2016 Ventisquero Cabernet Sauvignon- strong vanilla strawberry nose. Smooth entry, fruits, and moderate tannins. It’s full body. 8.5/10
Red
Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon 2018- closed nose. All fruits. Slight more tannin than I expected but a fruit forward wine. 8/10
Red
The Ramparts- sweet nose, assortments of fruits. Had it a day apart from Portola Pinot 2014. Good fruits, more pronounced tannins. A bit more serious wine. I thought the portola was better; easier on the palette. Overall 8/10 for this wine.
Red
Portola Pinot noir 2014- sweet candy nose. Equally rich assortment of fruits on the pallets. Conclusive tannins that isn’t overpowering. This is a very fruity wine and I like it. Easy on the pallets. Had with pasta 8.5/10
Red
2012 Compania Vitivinicola tandem Ars Memoria-
This is a let down. Closed nose, weak body and has lost its fruits. Really couldn’t have more than a glass. 5/10
White
2018 Beau Vigne Heirloom Bordeaux blanc- nose of lemon, peach. Soft sweetness on the palate followed by mild tannins. Not appreciable acidity. Easy on the palate, light but still tasty. No long finish here. It’s refreshing 8/10
Red
2016 Villa I cipressi brunello “zebras”- cranberry red in glass. Elegant perfume nose, light entry. Threatens of bold dryness but not quite. I would consider it mild. Definitely chewy strong tannins. The fruits is in there especially mid palate but the tannins need to soften. Overall, not a bad wine. Time will do this wine some good. 7.5/10

De Martino Cinsault Viejas Tinajas 2016- light body, fresh entry. Burst of tannic finish. Certainly taste better on first day. Didn’t appreciate any good evolution subsequent days. Wouldn’t buy this bottle again 6.5/10
Red
2018 Petra Cabernet Sauvignon- ripe fruit nose, spice. Smooth entry with some fruit freshness and gradual emergence of the tannins. Moderate Dryness in the finish but after few sips its even more evident; not overpowering though. Overall, it’s smoothness is what is impressive. It holds up even with spicy or heavy flavor pairing. It’s certainly drinking well now. Curious what few years will do to it. 8/10

Took 4hrs of decant to come to life. Aromas of flowers. Chalky tannins but medium intensity with noticeable dryness on the palate. Full body with so so finish. Without the decant, it came off has a very light body wine. 7/10

Not much for the nose besides light oak. Smooth tannins that was progressive till the end. Medium acidity at the end. Medium body with long...ish finish. I had no expectation so I’m a bit neutral on this. Although it’s only 7yrs old, it felt there might have been more to it in its early years. Not necessarily a bad thing
7/10

2016 Domaine Jean-Marc Bernhardt Gewurtztraminer- served chilled. green apple, pear, melon nose, crisp well balance sweet entry, followed my appropriate tannins. Minimal appreciable acidity. Paired with curry tomato based Indian cuisine. It was delightful! 9/10

Yokayo Cabernet Sauvignon Buteo 2015-
Restricted nose of fruits, light on the palate, minimal acidity or mild tannins. Paired with pan-seared steak and it was completely overpowered. Even for sipping on it’s one , it was underwhelming. 6.5/10

Italics winegrower Napa fifteen appellations 2010-
Bouquet of flower on the nose. Unripe fruit with accompanying tannins from the beginning. Followed by dryness. Some alcoholic kick to it. Not sure I got more than that. Not a bad wine, but it’s not a standout either. Something good to have in your collection though. Paired with tomato-based soup and pasta. 7/10

Smells like leaves from weeds/shrubs in the yard after it has just rained. Fruity, with mild hovering tannins, dry mid palate. If you have ever tasted bitter leaf, there is a mild sweet after taste, that’s the finish I’m getting. It’s definitely a tasty wine. 8.5/10
Red
2018 Marnet Pinot Noir- elaborated nose. floral, kitchen Spice cabinet . Much more that I can describe. Medium body but mouth feeling. Salty, ripe grape, ?rusty, very light acidity and tannins at the end. It is a tasty wine. Easy on the palate. 8/10

Poggio Di Guardia 2016- floral and spices cabinet nose. Full body coats your tongue immediately. Definitely dry start to finish. Medium Tannin in the finish. It truly coats your tongue. Paired with tasty, spicy vegetable stew. A bit on sweetness shows with this pairing. It’s a long finish. It’s drinking well now or later. Will wait couple more years to try another. 8/10

2014 Vinatlas global fusion- floral, ripe fruit, spice on the nose. This is after 2hr decant. Definitely dryness that intensifies mid palate and in it’s finish. Oak finish last longer. It’s has a medium mouthfeel in the beginning but the gripping dryness and oaky finish certainly made it more. Letting it open up is necessary for this wine. 7/10

2010 Rasa QED red- no decant. Actually impressive nose of perfume, assortment of flowers. Palate is..... not there. Not sure I have a better description. No finish. Tastes diluted. The nose was so good, it actually prepares your palate for something more robust. Thus making the actual palate such a let down. I have to agree with others who have commented on this wine likely passing it’s prime. 6/10

David Arthur red blend 2016- herbs, new wood. The fruit nose opens up with decanting (~30mins). This is medium body. Without decanting it really lacks character in my opinion. The fruits is mild on the palate. Mid-palate dryness, moderate acidity. Mild tannin. The finish is short. Overall I’m a bit disappointed. I expected more with regards to fruitiness and longevity. WT had it at $30 but everywhere else it was $100/ bottle. It’s definitely not worth $100. It’s a decent bottle of wine though. I rate it 7/10

2013 Coquelicot Winery Mon Amour Santa Barbara County Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
2013 coquelicot Mon amour- decanted for 15mins. deep dark dirty red, leather on the nose, light entry with comprehensive tannins from beginning to end. Warmth in your throat is evident early (14.5% Etoh). Zingy finish from the acidity. Very long finish though. Its medium body. It’s a tasty wine and food pairing should be likewise. 7.5/10

Oak, restricted nose. Very fruity, sweet and mouth filling. Mild and well balanced tannins. Mild acidity as well. Easy to drink. Family loved it as well. With aging, the fruit-fowardedness should soften. I’m not sure there’s enough acidity and tannin to soften over time.8.5/10

This is my second time trying this wine. I have to say this has to be one of my favorite wines so far. I decanted for 30mins this time but not sure it needs much decanting. Very fruit forward, soft tannins. It’s medium body and wouldn’t consider it a serious wine. But it’s easy sipping all day and goes with most food.9/10

Zenato Amarone fella valpolicella 2015-
Definitely decant. At 16.5% alcohol that’s the overwhelming nose without decanting. After couple hours decanting, floral, oak, herbs and fruit on the nose. Fruity entry, immediate evident tannins that feels slightly overpowering and medium acidity. Warmth finish indicating the high level etoh. I will consider this medium wine. Pairing with dessert might be better than with spicy dishes 7/10

CH lot 717( super Tuscan(merlot add) IGT2015)- no decant. fruity nose. This is not a full body wine; medium. Dry, Mild tannings and acidity. Easy and soft (feels diluted but it’s not) on the pallet. Drink alone or with meats. Definitely taste better same day than next day. 8/10

CHwines Lot 692 (babaresco 2007)- fruity, moderate tanning but soft on palate, mild acidity. Oaky smoky. Goes well with brisket. Age more if you can. It should even get softer and complex 8/10
White - Off-dry
CHwines Lot (muscat Canelli) 2017- restraint nose (unable to tell other than fermented). Less sweet with a bit of spice. Soft tanning at the end. Less tanning after 1day. 7/10

Deep fruit nose, a bit of oak as well. Medium body fruity on entry. Progressive and firm tannins. Just right acidity. No long finish. Feels more medium than full body. Chilean wines tends to hold tannins more from experience. Not a bad wine. Has potential to evolve with its tanning and acidity in few years but still fine to drink now. 7/10

Morgan Sauvignon blanc 2017 monterrey- ?oaky, lot of tannings, light mineral at the end. Goes well with noodles. I prefer it if it had softer tanning. 6/10

Chateau La Rame (Bordeaux 2016)- grape, high tanning, dry, light/medium body. Needs aging to soften the tanning. Goes really well with spicy sauce based food. It brings out its sweetness and kills off its tanning. 7.5/10

Dark ripe fruit nose, medium body on the palate, sweet with minimal tannings. Pronounced warm finish. Paired it with medium spice sauce and rice. Can also sip alone. I rated it 8/10
